We made reservations 4 days in advance & was NOT informed about a boil water order until 1 hr before arrival. We stayed 9 days, ea day we searched for drinkable water to fill our RV tank to avoid ingesting bad bacteria. When asked if we would receive compensation for not receiving what we paid for, drinkable water, Sarah Tibbetts said no; she was being nice to allow our pkgs to ship there. Really?

Our travels throughout 2023 has taken us across the US & we’ve stayed at many KOA’s. What happened to taking care of the customer? When a KOA has a boil water order, shouldn’t KOA provide free bottled water for their customers? Shouldn’t KOA lower their fees to compensate for lack of clean drinkable water? BEWARE of this location!

Great park under new management, still suffering from the sins of the previous owners. Big camp store, nice cafe, and great managers and employees. They do have music from time to time. If you are close to the stage that might be a problem? Great sites except for a few seasonal sites that have been left go and are pretty ratty. Lots of upgrades in progress. It's a great place to stay.

Although, I don’t think this review is fair, as it’s under new ownership. The place was rundown and definitely needs a major updates all over. The pool was closed for our entire stay. The site we were booked was the dumping station. I’m not sure as there was plenty of available sites during our entire stay that did not have the dumping station. This is our second time staying at the Bangor/ Holden KOA and each time was enjoyable. We enjoyed listening to the band while eating popcorn and hot dogs.

Staff was friendly grounds are well kept.Only issue we had was a boil water order.Thought we should have been informed before we arrived.It looks like this has been an ongoing issue.

The staff was excellent. Lance came out and helped us with our TV and made sure our hot water heater was working properly. Everyone couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful

Everything was easy from check-in, getting to our site and having friendly service. The only problem was there was a boil order due to the amount of rain the area has received in recent days and weeks so we just used our fresh water tank.

Attentive and helpful staff & managers. New ownership. Clean pool, grounds and facilities. Wi-Fi extenders were being added during our stay so we didn't have any Wi-Fi until the last day. Great location. Level sites. Boil water in effect but we knew that before we checked in and filled our fresh tank beforehand. Definitely would go back in the future.

Like this location/campground, but how do you NOT tell your customers at check-in that there is a "boil water order" because of E Coli?? We did not see it posted anywhere until the day we checked out. It was posted on an 8 x 10 piece of paper on the wall in the rec center? Shame on them for not making it more clear before and at the check in. My wife was sick for a couple days after our stay.

We stayed overnight in our camping trailer. We were able to park fairly close to the impeccably clean restrooms. Water supply was under a boil water order. Please spread more washed gravel in campsites to avoid tracking dirt into trailer. No sewer hook up in our site -- not obvious how to dispose of grey water. The campground was very easy to find. Happy to see recycling bins.

The location was perfect for our needs, close enough to both Bangor and Acadia for exploring both. The campground was peaceful and quiet, and we were able to enjoy the natural environment. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved joining in the activities (painting, bingo, etc.).

It needs site escorts and some leveling of sites. Cable did not work. But it was an easy stop for one night although pulling in and out was difficult. Employees were friendly and helpful. Nice to be able to walk to an ice cream stand next door.

Nice campground and friendly staff Good location, close to downtown Bangor. Noisy near the front of the campground so, if possible, get a spot toward the back. We will stay there again next time we are the Bangor area.

We only stayed here for one night and found everything to be ok. One note would be that to get to our site, #73, there is a turn that needs a wide berth as there is one boulder that I had difficulty getting past with my 40' fifth wheel!

Lance and Sarah and their staff are doing a great job!! Making improvements everyday. I have never seen such hard workers. Camp store had such a cool and huge selection. Small cafe. Ice cream store next door. Nice & clean campground. Huge lots. Big rig friendly. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!!

Staff was very helpful and nice. My site was a pull through for my 42’ Fifth Wheel. Nice and quiet at night. Very nice place to stay.

We stopped at this KOA as our truck broke down unexpectedly in Holden. The management and staff went out of their way to welcome us and really went beyond our expectations - checking in on us, offering suggestions for how to get our vehicle fixed. We have three children and we loved the facilities including the playground and sparkling swimming pool. Pizza and ice cream were super convenient too!

Great stay a few sites need to be reworked and seasonal /long term campers bed to be grouped together and not near the front of the park. Also trash disposal was an issue that was quite smelly.

Park is under boil water policy. I believe this should have been told to customers prior to check in. People go to a KOA park to vacation. The ability to boil water is limited. VERY DISAPPOINTING

We stayed for one week. The sites are very spacious and ours was level. The bathroom and laundry room are clean. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Only complaint is the massive pothole as you exit the campground. Makes it difficult to pull Out into traffic and not good for vehicles and RV's to bounce through. KOA, how about filling it up with gravel???

Service was great. Didn't stay there but needed propane late at night and they opened to accommodate us. We are so Grateful to the kind staff. Came back days later for a refill. All the staff was kind and welcoming

Wonderful, clean, quiet, friendly campground. I stayed in a Dome tent. Was wonderful! Spacious and nicely laid out. Short walk to restrooms/ showers. Would do again in Heartbeat.
