We had a wonderful time at the Bangor/Holden KOA! The staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful. I would give the KOA a 10 out of 10 stars! The cabin rental was spotless! The rental had everything that you may need for a get away vacation. The property was well kept and had some hiking trails close by. The camp store was clean and organized. I would highly recommend the Bangor/Holden KOA.

Our stay was perfect! We rented a camper and it was so cozy and had everything we needed! Staff was very friendly and they had tons of fun activities going on! We will be back!

Great campground and staff. Cabin was awesome. Only problem was the firewood we purchased would not burn. Bought two stacks; just left the other one at the office on our way out. Definitely need an axe or something to spilt wood. We would stay again

It was unkind to provide no alert that the quality of your well water was compromised to the extent that there was an order to boil water before drinking it. We paid for a KOA campground in order to get full hookups! It is your responsibility that the water provided was not potable. You should have given us fair warning before we arrived, and also provided us with at minimum FREE drinking water.

Really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a dome and it was great. Staff made adjustments to address the lack of a ceiling fan and made it so much better. Obviously work is on-going to make this a 5 star stay. Our picnic table got removed from our site and that was kind of weird but we didn't really need it.

We enjoyed our stay in the geodome. I love the fact that there is a lot for the kids to do and all the staff is super friendly.

Clean bathrooms, nice atmosphere near the activity area with fire and smores etc offered, and fabulous staff. The girls at the office and restaurant were super helpful and friendly. We only stopped over one night on our way home from elsewhere but we liked it so much we will be back!

The park was excellent! I stayed there with my husband and grandkids and it was very enjoyable and loved all the activities to keep the littles busy. The cabin was well appointed and provided enough space and amenities for the week. The staff was friendly and helpful! We will be back for sure!

We stayed in the dome, it was a very cool experience. The dome itself wasn’t cleaned, when going to the restroom there was signs saying water wasn’t safe to boil before even brushing teeth. It was just alot with our 3 small children.

Very comfortable trailer we rented and the staff was very nice and helpful. I was told the current owners just recently purchased this KOA and they are doing a great job with it. The pool was wonderful.

Really upset the pool wasnt ready for AND that it wasn’t communicated (could’ve saved a lot of room in our bags) but the hospitality made up for it. The loft in our cabin was a surprise, it may have been overlooked but I did not know it was only 3 or 4 feet tall, my teenagers had to crawl to their “beds” aka pads on the floor. Yikes. Wish there was a daily towel service, otherwise great.

Staff friendly. But cabin had no blankets, and sheets for the bunk beds, and pull out bed for our first night. Also lots of hair in the bathroom sink, water would not drain. We had to clean it out. Kind of gross, not our hair in the drain.. Also stove knob was broken , it was stripped. All this was relayed to the KOA staff. Maybe cabin should be checked better for the next campers who stay here

The dome was great. The $5/person visiting fee for just coming to the campsite is a little steep. I think it should be $5/person before a certain time and then just $5 per car or up to two people after dinner since quiet hours are at 10. Other than that everything was great.

As a family we rented 2 camp sites. A tent and the deluxe cabin, for the 8 of us. We had the best weekend!! Campground was kept clean, bath house was always clean, staff was friendly, and plenty of activities to keep us busy. Great way to end our summer!

The camper we rented and stayed in was decent. The pull out bed was broken and was on an angle that would not allow for anyone to sleep on it. We had to get an air mattress for two people to sleep on the floor for the weekend. It was slightly disappointing but we made the best of it anyways. Overall the campground was nice.

Was a nice clean campground. I would recommend lighting of some kind for the walkway to Dome tent. Service in canteen was wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay in one of their domes. The owners and staff were so welcoming and helpful. We loved the store, the ice cream was delicious, and my kids loved the mining. We can’t wait to go back again!

Another great time at this campground! Our cabin was perfect.. very clean and well appointed with everything that we could want. We had a great time at the wet & wild activities on Saturday… what a fun way to spend a hot summer day! Everyone was so nice and helpful here .. from check in to their food cafe to Holden A Kone. We can’t wait to come back again soon! Thank you for everything you do

Arrived Saturday and bathroom was disgusting, and stayed disgusting until the following afternoon. Bathroom check list sheet shows someone checks it once or twice a day, which is not enough. One bathroom available for whole campground, as the other one was closed the whole weekend. Nice gift shop and food options were reasonably priced.

The only thing I was disappointed in was that I had extra family come for my husbands 60th birthday and I booked the dome for them. They only gave me point for the dome which was only one night. We stayed in our motorhome for 3 nights with no discount?? Not fare at all!

What a great week we had! Our cabin was beautiful and very comfortable with all the amenities we could have wanted. We enjoyed having our own grill, right on our site, and we barbecued every night… except when we ordered some yummy food from Red Barn Pizza & Cafe, and they even delivered it! Very clean campground and very friendly people. The only downside is all the noise from the road and the neighboring business. I was able to book a dome same day as we couldn't find anything available closer to Bar Harbor.

We glimpsed in a dome. It was big and clean. The beds were very comfortable and they supplied pillows. The only negative I have to add it that the shower ceiling was moldy. But it's a campground and to be expected.

We stayed in a dome while we were in town for the state Little League tournament (we won!), and it was perfect. There was plenty of space for two adults and two kids, and the beds were plenty comfortable for a good night’s rest. The pool was a good daytime activity for the kids to avoid the intense heat of the week.

Another great time at this KOA! Our cabin was clean and comfortable and we just loved it! It was so hot while we were there, so the pool was wonderful! It was great to be able to order food from the Pizza Cafe and have them deliver it right to us at the pool. Ice cream at the Kone was very refreshing in this heat. The staff here are always so friendly and helpful… they make us feel like family.

We have been to a lot of KOAs but I have to say we have never been to one with such wonderful owners and such helpful owners. Even if you encounter a problem you will have it fixed immediately. And Cone King Ice Cream is a must do while staying there.

Chris and co are great hosts! Campground very clean and noise free..... well we had a set of 30 month old twins that got a little loud. This is the 2nd year in a row coming to your Holden KOA. We will be back for a 3rd !

I had a great time at this KOA. My camper was so comfortable and very clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful and I loved the availability of their outdoor games area. Being able to order delicious food, from Red Barn Cafe, and even having it delivered to my site was such a treat. I look forward to my next trip back to this campground. Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful time at this campground and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The activities were great and we enjoyed the outside game area by the pavilion. We loved that there was a cafe right on the property and they even delivered our food to our site for free. Holden A Kone was a great treat for all of us also. We can’t wait to go back again!

Park model we rented not clean. Outdoor deck not cleaned off. Water smelled terrible. TV remote back missing. Couch had a tear. Shades very difficult to maneuver up and down. Bed so high up it was difficult to get in and out. Bathroom register vent on floor full of hair. Shower dirty. Not many channels on TV would come in. This is our 2nd rental stay and we probably will not try again.

Great KOA with all the normal amenities you would expect. The staff is super helpful, very friendly, and have great positive uplifting attitudes. When we first arrived, it rained pretty hard. We asked a neighbor if it had been raining a lot, and he said he had been here for 3 weeks and it hadn't stopped yet. We stayed for 2 weeks, and ended up with like 4 sunny days without rain. This meant that the entire campsite was pretty thoroughly flooded, and our entire yard had standing water with a nice big mud patch right at our front steps. It was so wet that the staff couldn't even mow until our second to last day, so the grass was getting pretty long and soggy. Despite all of the negative weather, the staff maintained their positive attitude, and did not cancel any of their fun events and activities. Even though the pool and bounce pad were out of commission, they more than made up for it with indoor crafts, events, and fun hangouts at the club house. The entrance is EXTREMELY tight. If you are towing a vehicle, I highly recommend you disconnect before pulling in. We did not, and we did not make it through the entrance either. Staff was once again super helpful in getting us unstuck, and gave us the time and space to maneuver safely, instead of rushing us out of the road like we have experienced at other camps, including some highly rated KOA's. The park store here is probably the biggest and most well stocked store we have seen in over a year, and the pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream are tasty and worth sampling. Jones Lobster Company right down the road really does have the BEST lobster rolls, and the best tasting lobster we had during our entire stay in Maine. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA in a Motorhome. Detracting 1 star due to the water becoming non-potable during our stay due to their septic overflowing into their well contaminating it with e coli.

Stayed here for the Summer 23 Season. Lance and his crew really worked hard all season upgrading the place and if you ever needed anything they were great. Disregard the negative old reviews from prior ownership. Would of signed up for next season but work isn't gonna have me up there.
