Great pull thru sites, no issue with our 42 foot fifth wheel. Owners Chris and Lauren are wonderful. Very friendly campground and store is the best Ive seen. Loved the ice cream store and pizzas available in campground. Lots to see and do nearby

So far this is our least favorite KOA campground. We stay at KOA campgrounds all the time, this one is quite rundown sites are very very small not many sewer hook up sites and it’s pricey.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You made the reservation 6 days before & asked for a sewer site. We told you none were available. You checked in you asked for a sewer site still none. Over 75% of our sites have sewer. You were on a 60' long site not sure how that is small. You did not get what you wanted so we are rundown!!!

The campground had everything we needed. We wanted to get closer to Acadia NP, but everything was full. The drive back and forth for the two days we were there was very doable, about 45 miles. We used their laundry while there. It was sufficient, and seemed to be fairly well kept. The attached restrooms seemed clean. The little restaurant in the same building as the registration had a great menu.

We called to make a reservation just a few hours before our arrival and they were able to accommodate us. Everyone we met was friendly and courteous. The washrooms and shower were immaculate. It was great to be parked next to a forested area. One of the best showers I've ever found in a campground. Everything was clean and neat.

Our lot was beautiful the problem was the electric did not work correctly. Owner called electrician and he did nothing! The owner knew that there was a problem but he put two of us side-by-side. The other couple left they were so upset. Because of the owners negligence and his attitude we will never return to that park. Lack of concern for us the customers.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We had a licensed electrician come out and look at the site. You never talked to me; you told my wife that he did not know what he was doing. He's licensed. You had 3 AC units on and were cooking with a microwave. We were in a heat wave and you laughed at him when he suggested you turn off one unit.

The KOA and staff were great! The reason for the low rating is simply due to the low electricity input. We were visiting while it was 5 days of high 90s. During that time my circuit shot off twice. One day our friends and I were powered up using his car generator. The second time my dog was in the trailer and it shut off. I was very thankful I installed Waggle which alerted me of the temperature.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Versant Power does rolling brown outs during heat waves. We asked everyone to conserve electric. Some did & some didn't and still had 3 ac units going. The rules clearly state that pets are not to be left unattended, for exactly this reason.

This campground is beautiful and offers so much to do. The weekend activities were a lot of fun and we loved being able to enjoy the walking trails behind the campground. Everyone was super nice and friendly and having free food delivery, from their cafe right to our site, was terrific. Their gift shop always is fun and great ice cream at Holden A Kone. We look forward to our next visit!

The bathrooms were clean but looked dirty they need some love and some update the Internet Wi-Fi was horrible

Nice enough grounds, but bath hoses really need work. Would not recommend staying here until remodel is complete. Pool coping is loose and hazardous. Toilets plugged in bathhouse prevented use of any toilet until cleared. Had to wait an hour.

You called at 7:45 AM and I was at the bathroom at 7:50 and unplugged it. I am sorry that I can not control people clogging the toilets. If we could get the materials when promised the bathroom remodel would have been finished before we opened for the season. Not sure how you waited a hour

From the minute we arrived we had NO power. Went to the office. Next day we couldn’t get the power to stay on. I must of gone down or called 6 times. I understand that it was the hottest weekend but No power at all. So bad I had to sit in the truck with the A/C going to cool down I will NOT stay here again!

You were on a 50/30/20 amp site. I'm sorry that the 30 amp site breaker went bad. We leant you a 50 amp to 30 amp converter & you refused to us it & decided to plug into the 20 amp. You had power but refused to use the 50 amp.

400 characters is not enough to explain how I was treated by the owner. Let's just say Chris lived up to his reputation as a "hot head". I guess he's friendly until a customer has a question about how they operate. To bad because the campground was clean and well maintained. A little tight but not to bad. I wouldn't go back just based on the customer service.

No question how we operate. You were upset we charged more for a pull thru then a back in. You called & want to be near your friends. We did this and emailed the changes with new prices. Next day you were furious with a $4.21/day increase & demanded we give you your money back or get a bad review.

Owner was incredibly helpful and the site was perfect. Loved the ice cream shop. It was a one night stop on our travels north but can’t wait to visit again.

We were there on July 4th weekend. We have a Class A Motorhome and are towing a trailer. The owner came out, parked our car trailer for us, making our set up completely stressfree. This campground had a number of fun activities for the entire family the entire weekend. We have dogs and this campground had a fenced in area, that allowed us to let our pets run freely. The pool area was well kept.

Mixed bag. Had site in rear area, but not level. Difficult to hookup. Did not have arrival packet ready upon arrival. At first, they didn't know we were coming. Pool seemed to have shade of green. Exiting park, turning left across traffic lane, can be Very Difficult at high traffic times. Go there and you'll quickly understand comment. We were on hill in rear of park, less traffic and quieter.

I saw reviews stating owner was a bit of a hot head; nothing could be further from the truth. I hit a wooden box they had around returnable container when pulling into my site. Went and told Chris what had happened, and he couldn't have been more pleasant about it. Campground is extremely clean, and they offered many activities for the campers. I would highly recommend.

On the 4th of July there was a worker sanding the bathroom building trim for several hours. We could not sit outside due to this loud noise. Pool needs to be redone as it is falling apart and looks green.

Very relaxing. Alot for kids to do. The campsites are very clean, love the ones with the patio, we didn't get one but will next time. The staff was polite and helpful.

We had planned to go to a KOA closer to Acadia, Bangor/Holden KOA turned out to be centrally located for our day trips all around the Downeast. Chris, Lauren and Kayla were incredible hosts! They were extremely accommodating when my wife and I had vehicle and medical issues, recommending an excellent truck service and having a friend occupy another site while I recuperated in his.

We stayed for one week. The sites are very spacious and ours was level. The bathroom and laundry room are clean. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Only complaint is the massive pothole as you exit the campground. Makes it difficult to pull Out into traffic and not good for vehicles and RV's to bounce through. KOA, how about filling it up with gravel???

Service was great. Didn't stay there but needed propane late at night and they opened to accommodate us. We are so Grateful to the kind staff. Came back days later for a refill. All the staff was kind and welcoming

Wonderful, clean, quiet, friendly campground. I stayed in a Dome tent. Was wonderful! Spacious and nicely laid out. Short walk to restrooms/ showers. Would do again in Heartbeat.
