Staff is very nice and helpful. While my hookup was fine, there is a problem with the electrical box, no cover. This might have been an issue in bad weather, so I reported it. See you next year!

1) 2 night minimum for events weekend ( every weekend is an event weekend in bangor). Couldn’t make it the first night and could not get a refund. 2) my son wanted to come but couldn’t put a small pop up tent on our site. We already paid for two nights and would have had to pay for 2 more nights in order for him to come. 3) our tent site was on a hill with 3/6 on level ground not being used.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

1) when you booked you were aware of a 2 night Min. with a 2 night min why would we give you a refund. 2) our rules clearly state no additional tents on a site, & again it was a 2 night min.3) your tent was not on a hill. Why lie becuase you did not get your way?

We’ve not enjoyed virtually any koa or other camp site as much as Holden! Every employee responds as if he/she were the owners and wanted/needed to make our visit the BEST! The food, from bagels, to pizza, to lobster rolls was superb. The gift shop.. amazing! Choices beyond belief of gifts, needs, wants, didn’t know I needed but wanted..etc fabulous! KOA corp should take lessons from these own

I wanted to like this KOA, but just can’t! Our site was so tight, I could reach out my living room window and touch the neighbors slide. Our site was so unlevel, I put two leveling blocks under both my front tires, yet our RV was still low on the front end. Employee at the front desk refused to honor my rewards points for a $50 credit. If all KOA’s were like this one, I would never stay again!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You came in the day after check in on the way out & wanted to use your rewards then. I explained that we need to do it the same day. Because of that you want to lie about the site. You were on a 130' long site which is level and you didn't use leveling blocks. Not sure how a 130' long site is tight!

Convenient location. Nice site. Firewood was so wet, water squirted out when I was splitting it. No hope of starting a fire.

As a family we rented 2 camp sites. A tent and the deluxe cabin, for the 8 of us. We had the best weekend!! Campground was kept clean, bath house was always clean, staff was friendly, and plenty of activities to keep us busy. Great way to end our summer!

The camper we rented and stayed in was decent. The pull out bed was broken and was on an angle that would not allow for anyone to sleep on it. We had to get an air mattress for two people to sleep on the floor for the weekend. It was slightly disappointing but we made the best of it anyways. Overall the campground was nice.

4 days in a Class A, in a pull through. CG was well kept and pool was clean. Dog runs small and needed maint. Our primary problem with this CG was power, but the voltage was unstable, ranging from 99-127V. Power dropped out one day and we could not use A/C that day. The high temps were in the mid 70s and the CG has a lot of trees. Due to little breeze, the CG got quite smoky at night.

The laundry facility was in poor shape with only two functional dryers making a huge racket. One bath house was unavailable and the other was clean, but pretty beat up. The (long term?) campsite behind ours was kinda trashy with a bunch of Trump paraphernalia on public display. There was only a 30A receptacle available on site, so I had to purchase an adapter to plug in my 15A extension cord.

Was a nice clean campground. I would recommend lighting of some kind for the walkway to Dome tent. Service in canteen was wonderful.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time while staying at this campground! The owners and the staff were so friendly and attentive to our every need! Excellent food from their Pizza Cafe and yummy ice cream from Holden A Kone. We hope to get back this way again next summer!

We had the most wonderful experience at this specific KOA site. Chris was extremely hospitable and gave amazing recommendations for things to do in the area during our short stay! The restrooms/showers were extremely clean. If we ever return to the area, we will for sure camp here again. Also, get the homemade NY style pizza if you're looking for great food!

We had a wonderful stay in one of their domes. The owners and staff were so welcoming and helpful. We loved the store, the ice cream was delicious, and my kids loved the mining. We can’t wait to go back again!

Everyone was very friendly, the activities were numerous and kept an 8 year old busy and very excited to be there. She went trick and treating, road in a fire truck, had fun on the slip&slide, had s’mores and bonfire in the evening. She loved all the dogs. The pizza was excellent. The rest room was spotless. I would recommend this KOA for family fun.

Lovely spot, right off the hwy, very friendly staff. Lovely gift shop. They are upgrading laundry only one dryer working properly. There is a sm takeout which I thought was pretty neat even if we didn’t use it.overall a very clean quiet park with lots of activities for kids. Nice pool.

Was a short stay, friendly staff, clean washrooms. Only complaint, staff need to review the location of some rocks along roads towards pull through sites. We had to move a large rocks out of the way to navigate turn. Apparently several other campers voiced the concern while speaking with them, they had to move or haul the rock to avoid hitting it while trying to access their sites.

We LOVED our site, a premium patio which looked out onto a small field, not other campers. The rest of the campground looks cramped. The staff was always very friendly & seem to love what they do. Great store & ice cream parlor on site. We experienced persistent power fluctuations. Laundry facility is not in good working order. Great trails through the woods in the back of the campground :)

Great campground, friendly staff, ice cream and restaurant on site, Bonus. Would definitely stay at this campground again. Is it the Best, no, is it the worst? Not by a long shot. We’ve been to a lot of campgrounds in all the northeast and this one is well into the top half! Keep up the good work Chris!

Another great time at this campground! Our cabin was perfect.. very clean and well appointed with everything that we could want. We had a great time at the wet & wild activities on Saturday… what a fun way to spend a hot summer day! Everyone was so nice and helpful here .. from check in to their food cafe to Holden A Kone. We can’t wait to come back again soon! Thank you for everything you do

Arrived Saturday and bathroom was disgusting, and stayed disgusting until the following afternoon. Bathroom check list sheet shows someone checks it once or twice a day, which is not enough. One bathroom available for whole campground, as the other one was closed the whole weekend. Nice gift shop and food options were reasonably priced.

Great campground, spotless bathrooms/ showers. Laundromat sucked. 3 dryers out of 4 out of order, 4th sounded like a broken Sherman tank. Had to drive 8 miles to the nearest coin op laundromat.

The owners were friendly. Clean sites, bathroom, and rec hall. My kids love the pool and rec room. Lots of goodies to shop in the gift shop and many things in the kitchen to have made to eat.

The only thing I was disappointed in was that I had extra family come for my husbands 60th birthday and I booked the dome for them. They only gave me point for the dome which was only one night. We stayed in our motorhome for 3 nights with no discount?? Not fare at all!

What a great week we had! Our cabin was beautiful and very comfortable with all the amenities we could have wanted. We enjoyed having our own grill, right on our site, and we barbecued every night… except when we ordered some yummy food from Red Barn Pizza & Cafe, and they even delivered it! And we enjoyed Holden A Kone everyday, too! The owners and staff were the best and we can’t wait to ret

Very clean campground and very friendly people. The only downside is all the noise from the road and the neighboring business. I was able to book a dome same day as we couldn't find anything available closer to Bar Harbor.

we stayed 2 nites and were very pleased with the office/owners welcome. our site was a corner deluxe patio which was great and the patio furniture was lovely. the restaurant on premise was good n a lot of choices. also their ice cream stand Holden A Cone (luv that name) was delightful:) grounds are well kept as were all the facilities��� we would highly recommend this campground.

Chris the Owner was very accommodating and very friendly and kind to us . He recommended things for us to do in the area and took the time to let us know all about the koa and things happening there . He arranged for us to stay a extra night for us as we were from Canada and wanted to stay and see more things around . This was a clean and friendly place and I would go back for sure !

We stayed for one week. The sites are very spacious and ours was level. The bathroom and laundry room are clean. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Only complaint is the massive pothole as you exit the campground. Makes it difficult to pull Out into traffic and not good for vehicles and RV's to bounce through. KOA, how about filling it up with gravel???

Service was great. Didn't stay there but needed propane late at night and they opened to accommodate us. We are so Grateful to the kind staff. Came back days later for a refill. All the staff was kind and welcoming

Wonderful, clean, quiet, friendly campground. I stayed in a Dome tent. Was wonderful! Spacious and nicely laid out. Short walk to restrooms/ showers. Would do again in Heartbeat.
