They are doing a wonderful job rebuilding

Very friendly staff, lead us right to our site. Will be back!

The only working bath house was a long walk. Also the sewer hookup is not threaded so my hose would not stay connected without weight placed on it.

While I understand they are still in the recovery process from Hurricane Helene...I was surprised there was no convenient bath house near the sites. (It froze recently) In order to utilize their only bathhouse, you needed to drive a fair distance to access it. The park was a good location for our adventures in and around Asheville and the staff was very nice.

Nice site - nice facility. Highly recommend!

Clean, level sites, plenty of space, and convenient to Asheville. The staff was very helpful.

Very convenient location. Nice setting. The park is getting cleaned up after Helene. Noise from the road is loud. Host was welcoming and friendly.

Despite the damage Hurricane Helene caused just over a year ago, this was a comfortable stay. Kudos to the friendly and hardworking staff! The location is convenient and beautiful.

Appreciate the area is recovering from devastating flooding, but the temporary restrooms shown on the map were closed and no one mentioned this at check-in. We found out by chance that the only functional restrooms were a fairly long walk away, on the other side of the river, at the top of a hill. This should have been explained on arrival, not left for us to figure out in the dark!

We were so lucky to be able to camp here!

The staff was extremely helpful. It is still recovering from the flood that happened a year ago but is still a nice park to stay at. Very clean and large sites.’

Great as always. Limited space due to last year's storm Helene. They are making great strides in putting the park back together. Always our go to KOA when in Asheville. Best wishes KOA Asheville East.

Glad to have you back after the storm!!

Clean campsite. New or refurbished grounds, equipment.

Good spot to uber into Asheville. Very nice people working there and great little coffee trailer. The negative would be no working bathroom close to camp spot due to hurricane Helene

The staff was friendly and professional. The campground and sites were clean, level and spacious. The property looked beautiful after the devastation of the flooding of 2024.

It was awesome!

We had very unusual weather during our stay… super cold. But once the temperatures got to be a little tolerable, we were able to take some walks around the grounds. It was such a beautiful location. The bathrooms were “out of order” and there was a coffee trailer there, that didn’t open until the day we left. We assume that due to the weather these were closed. The location was close to a

We had a great stay! The staff were friendly, the grounds were clean, and the amenities were well-maintained. The Wi-Fi worked pretty well, and the setting by the river and lake was beautiful. I also really appreciated the text updates about weather and events.

I get there late almost dark. Found my camp site and stared to setup camp and it was 20F degrees outside so last thing I fine out the water was frozen so I called the overnight number they came out to check but they could not do anything HELP!! So, I have a heated hose and a heated boot to put over the water spicket and in about one hour the water come on I was so glad it worked.

The owners are doing an amazing job recovering the campground from the hurricane. We will definitely stay here again in our travels.

Great place and nice staff. Highly recommend.

The views were beautiful (stream/mtns).The site was really "tight".It was all we could do to fit more than 4 people around fire pit (we had patio). And it was tough getting the truck in the gravel area as they didn't want us parking in the grass. We were on an end and for our length camper, it was too small. There was also a lot of road noise (5 lane road at just above us).Don't want that spot again

Fantastic spot.

We love this KOA!

Beautiful campground in a natural setting next to the river and among the trees. It is just a 15 minute drive to Asheville. The nightly rate was unbeatable. The bathroom/showers are still in temporarily trailers (as of Nov 2025) after Helene barreled through. It won't affect my 5 star rating because they are doing the best they can in recovery. I would definitely stay again.
Nov 08, 2025
The staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. They will make you feel welcome and that you are right back home. The rates are very affordable and cheaper than most places. The only concern is the sewer hook up, no threads on ther side so be prepared for that, but I did make it work as well as everyone around us. KOA, we think of you as Keep On America!!

Only reason I didn’t rate it super high as I know you’re coming back from the horrible flooding. And lots to be done. Hopefully new bathrooms will be erected. That was probably the only downside. We loved our site A11. We had both a creek & small stream view.

We have had a wonderful stay at the Asheville East KOA.

I just stayed the one night and it’s early in my camping experiences. Found the host at the site to be fantastic.

Great stay, as always! Staff all very friendly and helpful. Appreciate the clean (and heated) restroom/showers. Very restful at night - no noise. Will be back!

Staff was friendly and helpful, enjoyed conversation with Lisa and crew. Sites were well maintained, spacious, the whole campground was pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area! Thanks for a great camp experience! 1

Good improvements in the recovery. Power solid. Pads level. Great to have you back. Suggest pad fans or double-wide parking pads to preserve grass areas while permitting truck to park off center to the left of rig.

We only stayed one night while heading home from a 30 day 2900 mile trip. The staff was friendly, campground is very clean and still recovering from hurricane Helene from September of 2024. They were completely flooded. I chose a 4 star mostly due to location near I-40 and road noise. The site was very level and had a nice patio. It was good to see them open to offer services for all!

So glad we were finally able to get here. We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing time. The new facilities are great considering the campground was nearly wiped out by the hurricane. Campsite was bang on level with patio furniture, a fire pit and a beautiful river nearby. Christy was SUPER helpful getting a couple logistical plans handled for me. Eric and Andy were also helpful. They had a bunch of fun activities for the kids including a pancake breakfast! We will be coming back very soon.
