Our stay was amazing! We haven’t been since Helene hit and we were so happy to be back. We have stayed here for years. It’s our family fall camping trip every year and I am so glad we were able to come and continue our tradition! I really hope to see the campground continue to grow back to what it used to be! Staff is amazing! One thing- we hope to see trick or treat go back to night time!

Comfy mattress, close to the bath house. The door of the women’s bathroom does not shut unless you pull it shut. The door was not shut completely every time but once when I went there. It would maybe help to put up a sign asking people to pull the door shut. Otherwise having a combination lock does no good. Everything else was great.

We had an excellent time with our group of 8 people. We rented 2 cabins and they were both very comfortable. The kids had a blast with all the activities and the shared facilities were excellent.

We had a family camp weekend renting the large cabin, an RV site and two campsites on the hill. We were happy with the bath house and sites. The cabin was well stocked and maintained. The road to the hill-sites had large potholes making it a challenge. I was happy to see the area around the upper lake mowed during our stay, making for nice walking. They are recovering well after the flood.

No one mentioned the 2 sets of steps going down to K-10. Also, we could not back our car up to unload close to the cabin,we had to tote all our “stuff” down the steps and back up the next morning.Our next trip we want K-11.

I liked the solitude of the cabin I was in. I appreciated the quietness of the other campers. There is a major road nearby, but I did not hear the traffic. The showers and bathrooms were clean and the water was hot. Thank you KOA!

We stayed in a cabin and loved it. It was well stocked with everything we needed and very clean. My grandkids had the best time and can’t wait to go back. Great job with all of the clean up efforts after the hurricane.

We arrived in dark and even though we had a map, it was very hard to navigate to the back part. More signage after bridge would help. Staff were very nice. I was fine with no wifi but wish we knew as we kept trying to find connection based on your email. Nice area, lovely scenery and great experience. Cabins very clean.

The Deluxe Cabin was comfortable but, there were neighbors in a camper just outside the cabin to the back. We had to close all the blinds to make sure we had privacy. You could hear them outside the windows even with the windows closed.

We had a great time! The staff was super kind and helpful. (Thank you, Andy, for the Whaleback Falls recommendation.) The bathhouse was clean. Our favorite is the river that flows through- we spent many hours exploring, swimming and floating. Highly, highly recommend for a peaceful getaway.

The nicest KOA we have been to! Everything was so clean and we felt so safe while we were there. Kids had an absolute blast, wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

This was our first visit.We really enjoyed our camping cabin. The kids loved the Gaga pit, jumping pillow, gourmet smores, ice cream, and fishing. Although cold, the kids enjoyed the pool as well.We definitely plan to come back and hopefully the lakes will be restored in the near future and usable. The staff were all friendly and helpful.we had a great time.

They had the best workers. Andy and Kristy gave us suggestions to see Mount Mitchell and that was the highlight of our whole trip. They were helpful and friendly and made us feel comfortable and at home.

So glad to be back! Our family has decades of great memories here with our children & plan more with our grandchildren. It was bitter sweet to be back as the campground has been forever changed by Helene but it is making a great come back and will be better than ever thanks to all the extreme hard work they have done to get back up & running with more to come. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. We were there in 2019 also the difference due Helene is very sobering. But they're persistents to open and continue with excellent quality customer service is amazing. Can't wait to return soon.

We enjoyed our stay at Asheville East KOA! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Deluxe Cabin, it was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun place to stay in the Black Mountain/Asheville area. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness KOA staff!

We had the BEST time at KOA. We hadn't been to Asheville since hurricane Helene, and we were so happy to be back. KOA made everything so easy and we enjoyed the amenities and the cabin was perfect for me and my two teens!

Great location and easy access to Smokey Mountain NP. We had a cabin w/o bath. Positives: clean bathhouse with large roomy showers; quiet location and secluded; amazing laundry facilities with A/C; nice pancake breakfast (fundraiser) in the morning. Negatives: bathhouse was up the hill on 2 flights of stairs which is not well lit; mostly gravel drives except front where RVs were.

Really enjoyed our camper cabin. We stayed here while we had family reunion activities in Black Mountain. My kids loved the jumping pillow, pool, and hanging out with other kids. It was very quiet at night and easy to get to the bathhouse. Everyone was so kind and considerate, and they are doing a great job rebuilding after hurricane. We will return!

Jill charged us $35 per dog x 3! Never in all my years of coming there have I ever been charged; And Jill was very argumentative! Not to mention she gave me the wrong key to the cabin twice! The bed in the cabin felt as if a hole was in the center of the mattress. Jill needs classes on her customer interaction skills! She IS the representative of KOA, and not a good one at that!

I don’t think there is a better run campground out there! The staff were so friendly, organized and helpful! Everything was spotless (I stayed in a cabine), well maintained. There were so many RVs there and I understand why anyone would want to stay there. The staff were very visibly around and available. I would highly recommend!

Deluxe cabin fully furnished no TV or oven. Clean great water pressure. Close to Black Mountain with great stores. Get there early they roll up the streets at 5pm

I stayed on the Deluxe Cabin. Great size for a small family. Clean and well stocked with amenities. The view from the porch is nice. Check-in was easy. I arrived after the office was closed but was given very clear instructions on finding my check-in packet. The staff in the office were welcoming and knowledgeable. So happy to be able to stay again and will be back.

So glad y’all reopened! It’s bittersweet to see the impact of Helene but we loved some of the new amenities like the jumping pad and gem mining! Our kiddos loved the arts and crafts with Eric! While things look different it’s still the same great staff and experience!

Our stay was amazing! We brought our grandchildren with us and there were so many awesome activities on Saturday! We all participated in the activities and truly enjoyed them! Our cabin was nice and secluded and the bathhouses were extremely clean. The staff were all courteous, efficient and friendly, especially Christy, Andy, Eric, Lisa and Jill! So glad you are rebuilding after the flood!

Everything was perfect and just what I needed! It's been a stressful couple of months and I needed a retreat...so sitting on the porch swing, looking at the river, listening to the birds, end enjoying the beautiful mountain views gave me the reset that I needed. The cabin, perfect, and what I've come to expect at a KOA. Special thanks to Jill! Very kind and helpful.

The cabin we rented was amazing. Very clean and had everything we needed. The gated porch was perfect for sitting out there with our dog to enjoy the amazing view of the lake. The overall campground was well maintained with lots of options to keep the kids entertained. Very convenient to get to both Black Mountain and Asheville. Highly recommend this location!

We had a BLAST. A fire every night! Our dogs got to play in the creek and go for long walks next to the ponds. The weather was perfect and bathrooms were clean. Everyone was so nice and friendly! Best KOA ever

from check in to check out everything was great with only 1 exception. We stayed in a Kabin #11. It was clean and very nice but calling what we slept on a mattress is a stretch. Based on this experience with the mattresses we will not stay in another KOA Kabin unless one of the larger cabins with real mattresses is available. Fantastic experience if you remove the mattress from the equation.

Our family has stayed at this KOA many times in the past. It was jarring to see the changes since Helene, but the campground is clean and moving forward. They were very quick to make my stay there comfortable. The bathhouse was lovely, water hot, and lots of room in shower area. Views of the river spectacular. Hoping to make new memories again soon!

Great KOA campground with large campsites! They gladly accommodated our Airstream group and even had an employee share information about the area during our group dinner.
