The campground was perfect for us. The pool was nice and we especially enjoyed the walking trails and just parking our chairs in the river! The staff was great. Check-in was easy and someone helped us back into our site. This campground is very convenient to Black Mountain, Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This was a beautiful campground that is coming back after a horrible storm. They have friendly staff, nice amenities, and pretty sunsets. It was so close to all we wanted to do. Perfect location for us.

This is our 3rd time camping here (first since Helene). They have done an incredible job getting the campground back up and running. We had a beautiful site backed up to the river. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing! As always, Lisa and Doug were fabulous hosts and we were well taken care of. The site we were on was great. Always appreciate the team at the KOA in Swannanoa!!

The campground is still recovering from the hurricane. Looking forward to the fully opened and repaired campground. Spent much time there in the past.

Easily the BEST KOA we've ever stayed at and we've stayed at many! The campground is essentially all new after a massive flood washed them out a few years back. Staff is excellent and go out of their way to make your stay amazing. Highly recommended!

Those are some of thr friendliest, hardworking people i have ever seen. My husband and I enjoyed our first time back after Helene. While the park is no where near where it was, the employees there are bringing it back to life! Can't wait to watch it continue to grow

We enjoyed our site, they need to weed wack that site. The grounds looked good and the bathouse was clean. The ice cream was very old.

We stayed here in a 45’ motorhome towing a Jeep. The campground was a perfect place to stay to do things in the area. It was very clean, sites were spacious and the grounds were well maintained. The owners were great on the phone and in person and provided a lot of good local information. We will definitely be back in the future.

I’m only giving this 4 stars due to the fact that I heard that the pond will not be restocked after the hurricane. That was the main contributing factor to coming back. Other than that the staff was awesome! Super helpful. Probably be a better idea to have the check in a little further in to allow more room. I had to back up into traffic to go around. The rebuilding process looks good.

We had an absolute wonderful stay! Very clean and beautiful are and employees were very accommodating whenever we needed something or had questions. Well worth the drive for us! We will definitely stay there again in the future.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were nice and clean. Nice private showerhouse / bathroom combo. Grass is coming back from flood damage. Definitely would stay here again if we are in area.

We had a very good stay this past week. Asheville East has done a fantastic job of rebuilding after the hurricane. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice pool. Clean bathhouse. We stayed during a very heavy rainstorm and the river swelled but the staff were very attentive to the conditions.

Something needs to be done with the duck poop. Wildlife I get it, but give them their own place away from human food and interaction. It was disgusting, got on shoes, dogs and tracked everywhere. Will not stay here again unless that changes.

I come here every year and stay for work for at least a week. I bring my family because we really enjoy this campground. It is always very clean and the staff is always really nice and personable. We really enjoy the activities that they offer like ice cream social and gourmet smores is a big hit with my kid. I would highly recommend to other campers and plan on returning again next year.

Just needed an overnight stop but wished we had time for more. Lovely campground, especially enjoyed the creek. Staff was so kind and helpful. Hope to return when we have time to really enjoy the area.

Our favorite KOA....grandkids love it and so do we older folks. Walking by the river and the open areas are both beautiful. The staff is awesome and have worked tirelessly to bring the park back to pre-hurricane Helene condition. KUDOS to you all!

This was our first experience at a KOA and we only stayed one night as we were passing through. We couldn’t exit our RV without stepping over a huge 4ft puddle. Too may kids running around. Dog poop that had not be cleaned up in front of and beside our spot.

Site B17 has a moot around the gravel area. Very wet site compared to other sites around me. Other than that love the location and staff were great.

The Piedmont NC Airstream Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an 18-day caravan across North Carolina, and KOA Asheville East was a wonderful choice for our first stop. The campground and nearby Swannanoa are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, making the warm welcome we received especially meaningful. The campground is well maintained, with a lovely location right along the river, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and responsive. One employee generously shared a firsthand account of the flooding with our group, giving us a deeper appreciation for what the community has endured and the work going into its recovery. We learned that the campground, which once had 300 sites, now has more than 70 available and is steadily rebuilding toward that total. With Swannanoa and Black Mountain nearby and Asheville just 20 minutes away, it was a great place to begin our journey. Thank you to the KOA Asheville East team for your hospitality and for making the start of our anniversary caravan so special!

It was a lot of fun, but the thing I really wanted to comment on was the honor it was to come to the halloween gourmet s'mores event! I don't typically like halloween revelry, even though I do like being around people, but this was such a nice event. And so creative and honoring and fun and just really wholesome. They've done a great job with this place!
