We stayed at one of the parallel lakeside sites. The view was spectacular. The riverside sites are also very nice. Very convenient to Asheville. Already booked another trip there. If traveling from the east on I40, GPS shortest route may take you through the town of Black Mountain. We found that the next exit past this KOA (Swannanoa, NC) was a lot easier to maneuver a camper.

The best campground ever. We have travelled quite a bit. This one is beautiful, very well kept, clean and the staff is so nice!

This KOA isn't close to anything so bring what you need with you. Also there was a camper set up with cement blocks and stuff stacked around it. That was a little creepy and not inviting. Site was level and staff was friendly.

We have stayed twice at this campground and both times were wonderful. Trash pick up is convenient, bathrooms are always clean, and the staff comes by at least once in the evening to see if more wood or anything is needed. Very pleased and will recommend.

Clean grounds, beautiful lake and river. Clean restrooms. We enjoyed the morning walks around the lake with our dogs!

We love Asheville East KOA and have stayed there for years, but the past two stays we have been very disappointed that we could not be outside our camper and walking around without stepping in goose feces. There is feces everywhere! I know people love seeing the geese around the campground, but they cause a big mess and no one is cleaning it up. Please do something about the geese!

Great location to explore Ashville, Black Mountain and surrounding areas. We had a lakeside spot with a great view. Only negative was the high concentration of gnats, which are seasonal and certainly not parks fault.

With two lakes and a stream running through it, this park has all the trappings of a great resort park. However, the site I was in along with my neighbors was so close together that none of us could use the fireplace for fear of melting the vehicle next to us we were that close. I was on a site just down in ratings from a KOA top site and despite the top status we were too close together.

We absolutely love this KOA! The staff are super polite and always remember us when we come back! We love renting a golf cart and riding around fishing all day! Perfect place to go glamping!

It is a great campground if you don't have dog, there are so many geese there and goose poop so very hard to keep your dog out of it

You got the wrong campground. There are no geese here. We have a great place for dogs due to the large size of the campground and neighboring fields.

Upon arrival found site covered in tree branches and goose poop. Went to office to ask for take after trying to clean site by hand. Mgr immediately dispatched maintenance and site was cleaned. Recommend site check before arrival of reserved sites.

Here only 1 night. Seemed to be plenty to do. Neat and clean; very quiet for sleeping.. Awful pot holes entering and leaving that rocked the RV hard but not the fault of the campground; seems it's the responsibility of a highway department. Train tracks on the other side of the highway, and we heard one but not close enough to be a problem. Have already recommended this place to friends.

Great staff, well kept facilities and a picturesque campground with easy and quick access to the incomparable Asheville, the quaint city of Black Mountain and the grandeur of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Welcoming and Friendly staff , always helpful with any questions. The campground is always clean. The Bath house/ restrooms are clean and well stocked. The sites that we have tried are beautiful and easily leveled. Defiantly one of my favorite Campgrounds.

Very lovely place! If you are there when it's windy, the north side of the lake next to the hill, will protect you better.

Unfortunately rainy, but found the park to be delightful. Enjoyed the walking trails and would like to take advantage of bikes a d boat rental on a future stay. Staff excellent.

Easy access and nice pull through spot. Cable TV included. Good Wi-Fi. Nice overnight stop on our way to North Carolina. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend it.

My cat got out of the RV and the staff was so understanding and caring the word was spread to be on the lookout for her. She came back to the RV on her own. I just can’t express enough the staff’s understanding and willingness to help. Thank you all!! Sincerely; (March 2023)

Site D25 was right on the lake and very nice. Needed a couple levelers but no big deal. Sites are a bit close but we only had one other rig in entire area so was nice. Busier time of year would be a different feel. Some road noise from hiway. Well maintained park and friendly helpful staff.

Pretty campground on the lake but if you stay on the lake, the geese wander in the campsites constantly and there is poop absolutely everywhere. Had to constantly watch where we walked. Also 3 of the 4 dryers broken. For $100 a night we should not have to go to a local laundromat. They had a food truck here on the weekend. The breakfast burrito was amazing.

Please clean all the fishing line from the lake! Is was very disturbing to see so much pollution in the lake. It was all over the edge of the lake right at our campsite The amount of fishing line was appalling and it was just one spot. Other than that we had a GREAT trip we absolutely loved it!
