It was okay. Not like before. It has gotten a bit more rowdy, with a lot of drunks. Staff are more concerned about kids in the camp store over the sticks zipping around in golf carts. Staff in the camp store really push to have you use credit cards or Debit cards over cash. And will close out the cash draw early. Camp store hours are “unusually” short for Friday & Saturday. The pool was cold. For little kids it wasn’t enjoyable. We were really looking forward to the activities planned for the weekend (car show). There was hardly any communication about them and some were cancelled due to weather. We understand but we also think they could have been delayed or done somewhere else. (Cornhole tournament).

Even though it was a rainy weekend, we were able to fit in many activities between the downpours! We rented a pontoon and spent some time fishing and cruising on Hogback Lake. My daughter won some $$ at Bingo the day before her birthday and we enjoyed betting on the "horses", too! Had fun driving around in the lighted golf cart parade on Saturday night. Very nice campground!

We had a wonderful time despite the weather, we’ll definitely be returning! Only two suggestions I’d mention, one would be to test the water prior to a guest staying in any particular cabin. Our water smelled like rotten eggs and made us quite nervous to bathe in it. We had to air out the cabin after each use due to the extreme smell. Second suggestion would be to maybe offer a toaster:-)

Very nice park. Loved our site 224. Only thing we didn’t like were all the golf carts riding around. We were riding our bikes and had to stop often because of the carts. KOA is really getting way too many carts We’ve been to 7 this summer and the last two were horrible for the carts riding around. I’m all for golf carts we have one AT home. We would rather walk or ride bikes while cam

Not enough wifi service for the amount of guests. Was not able to stay connected. Also the site we stayed on was not level. At least 18 inch drop. We couldn’t level our coach. Would not stay there again.

We had a nice week with friends at your KOA. It was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful hard workers. The pool and game rm were awesome! Hoped for scheduled kids activities during the week. I wish that the pontoon rental was longer than 6 hours for the $300 price as it deterred us from renting. Same with the $30 kayaks for the lake: $15-20 would encourage more people to rent them.

Very clean campground, friendly workers & lots to do for all ages. We weren’t huge fans of a lot of the workers driving around on golf carts smoking cigarettes, the smell is very strong. We will definitely be back next year.

We had a good experience. The grounds were well kept, staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the pool and lazy river; however it would be nice if tubes were available to rent. There we many activities for kids of all ages but some of the playground equipment was broken and the game balls were missing. Beach had more pebbles than sand and the lake had a lot of seaweed but still enjoyable.

I really like the Hogback KOA and camp there often ! I only wish they kept it a little cleaner ! The cabins are always dirty … mostly the floors , rug , top of refrigerator, microwave , things like that . I always have to clean as soon as I get there ! Also it is hard to fish from shore due to all the weeds and muck on the shore line .. Other than that we have a great time there !

One night on way to Michigan for fishing. Planned return as returned home. 8/16received a call shortly after noon from the guide. All fishing canceled due to high winds on Lake Huron. Immediately called to cancel the 8/16. Refund NOT provided as the canceled 48 hours before. Stayed at KOA's across the US for 25 years. No control of nature. Exception for refund should be given in emergency.

Site on the water was great. The lazy river pool was great. And our kid loved the lake gear to play. Campground was clean and staff was really helpful. They even took care of a small issue we had immediately and made good on the problem. We hope to return soon!!

Was initially worried about the airport next door but only one plane took off !! Initially sited up on a sloped hill where we had no chance of leveling out our coach, so requested a different site. This was accommodated and the new site was totally flat. WAY better for a big Class A ! Beautiful grounds that are well kept. Super recommended !! Just dont put coaches up on that sloped hill .

Very impressed. One of the better campgrounds, not just KOA's we've visited. Really enjoyed the entire park. Often times I question the value for the price at campgrounds. Not so in this case, the price was appropriate.

Great as always, a very clean park, great facilities...wish the office was open on weekdays past 5pm to get firewood as we away from the campground before we decided to have a fire. The text updates were a nice addition. Always enjoy our time in Angola.

Unfortunately our stay was lacking amenities. We arrived Thursday and the pool was pretty green and Friday it was closed as they removed the water and pumped more in. On top of the pool not being functional they did not have television or wifi. Very disappointing this trip to Hogback.

Truth: 2 out of our 7 days the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. Landscape in park is not maintained causing a mosquito problem, especially around pool & lake area. No internet the whole stay, water shut off to part of the park for 1/2 day & golf carts are out of control. The dumpsters overflowed for days causing stench in pool area. Beautiful place, lots of potential so I am hopeful. Staff is Amazing!

This was our third trip to Hogback. Overall it was great. There is one employee that should probably find a new job. Very rude and extremely unpleasant to deal with.

It’s a very nice KOA, wish they would do paper activity lists when checking in for the weekend. Only complaint is we love site 316 but the fire pit is in an awkward location, we understand it can’t be under the trees, but please get rid of the broken bricks and place a small metal fire pit in its place if they don’t want to fill in the concrete.

We stayed in one of the small cabins and it was not good. The tv did not work, it smelled, the shower curtain was yellow. I slept on top of the blankets because I was afraid of bugs. I would never recommend staying in one of those ever again to anyone.

Everything went well except our campsite was next to the concrete sewer things so when we would sit by our campfire we could smell the sewer. I feel this should be mentioned before booking or the site offered at a lower price. Otherwise was clean and trash was picked up conveniently and pool was open and clean.

Camp staff was very rude and unfriendly. I went to ask a simple question about the pool and was treated, in my opinion, with contempt. Also, we pay for our stay to be enjoyable and the pool was out of order for a day. I get that issues happen and that’s fine. But the campground didn’t make any effort to make our stay enjoyable while the pool was down. Will not stay here again.

Not the place for a quiet overnight stay. Crowded, chaotic, noisy. Seemingly no limit on visitors. Our pull thru site for $91 was right next to a busy highway. Grass was uncut, firepit hadn’t been cleaned in ages, no water pressure. Majority of campers were seasonal (probably a great place for that). Would drive out of my way to find a different place to stay next time.

Spent BINGO weekend there with the Grandkids. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the pool on Sunday when the crowd had thinned out. Saturday the pool was too busy to enjoy! Well planned activities that we enjoyed and the staff was friendly as well. Bingo weekend was the reason we had booked the 3 night stay! Thanks for a well enjoyed visit!

I was treated terribly by a young woman in the office on the afternoon of the. 5th. Longer black hair, was probably 30 something years old and came charging from out of the office as I was speaking with the two ladies who were working at the register. She came out from the office and interrupted our conversation and said that I should not be talking to her employees. I just wanted to rent a boat.

I’m a women of color and did not feel as welcomed when asking questions or advising of concerns. We have stayed with you several times before and did not feel that way in the past so not sure if you are under new managements. Also we rented one of the cabins for family and there was no toilet paper and cabin needed a few repairs.

This was our first time at this KOA. The town of Angola is lovely. This campground is huge. The biggest KOA we’ve visited. The front staff were very friendly and helpful. The store is nice and well stocked. We appreciate the gated entrance and getting a key card. The negatives were the small pool/lazy river, not much shade in the transient spots, and the loud traffic noise from the roa

Angola / Hogback Lake KOA is largely seasonal campers and their site are pretty packed together. Our site, east of the pool, was sloped with a gravel parking pad. The grass was not mowed before or during our stay. Hardly any parking at the lake, pool and even the office / store. A golf cart would have cost $429.00 for a 3.5 day weekend. The place is OK with no outstanding problems but OVERPRICED.

We were thrilled to find out this KOA is open in January, as we were in a pinch needing a place to stay with hook ups. They were very friendly when we called for info. They had everything all set up and super easy to pick your spot and settle in. Very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!

Our pipes in our cabin froze (in December) and the team went above and beyond to correct the issue for us! They did everything possible to correct it, and they were super professional and nice when I first reported it, and they got on it ASAP and offered a discount for our inconvenience without me having to ask or complain. When the issue couldn't be resolved in a timely manner, they gave us an upgrade in another cabin and comped our stay. The whole team was great and even though the situation sucked and inconvenienced us, they were obviously doing everything they could possibly do which included digging under the cabin, using heaters on the pipes, and a camera to diagnose the problem. This was our second stay here and we will absolutely be returning!

Great place to get away for the weekend from Chicago. The amenities are good for kids and I love that it's open year-round. My only small complaint is the golf cart traffic on the weekends during the summer.
