The campground itself definitely has potential! I think the Angola Indiana area is starting to grow and prosper, but the seasonal campers versus the KOA campers might be a problem at some point. The seasonal people feel like they own the place versus those who just come in for a few days or a week. The pool area is really nice, the beach is a nice touch and you can see they are making improvements

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your insight, We understand where you are coming from but also believe many of our seasonal campers contribute to the wonderful experience that is Angola KOA.

We paid extra to be on the fishing pond and had a reservation stating the same. We ended up on a ditch where the water was 3 to 4 inches deep and about 12 inches wide. We had stayed there before and I knew that the site they gave us wasn’t on the pond. I asked the lady checking us in about it. She got the person in charge and she said that site was considered on the pond. Kind of a lie!!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your feedback, we always recommend calling the office so one of our camp experts can find the site to best meet your needs. We will make sure you get as close to the fish pond as possible on a future visit.

Hogback Lake KOA is our regular "last stop" whenever we travel the I-69 corridor. A stay at Hogback Lake leaves us with 160 miles to drive on our final day - we can enjoy a leisurely 10 am departure and still arrive home in the early afternoon. We use our time at Hogback to clean and organize the coach making our arrival home go smooth! It's perfect for us!

Very nice park, watch out if you ask for a specific space, I wasn't told on the phone that they charge $20 dollars, which I think is too high!

Just a beautiful RV park. Lots of cool sites and plenty of room between RV's.

We have camped here many times through the years and although the internet has improved, it still has a long way to go. We were disappointed that our site was booked weeks in advance and the dog pen site we had was so tall our dogs couldn’t even use it. We did ask the office to send someone to bring a weed trimmer to cut the grass, which they did do quickly.

My on complaint is we requested our party be together but were not put together even though they were plenty of open spaces between us to all be together. Other wise great and fund weekend.

Just stayed over night. Was disappointed there was no wifi. Site was a bit in level saw other sites next door that were more level but we adjusted.off season but was nice and quiet. When went to toss our trash the dumpsters had not been empty ed in While and were overflowing.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your feedback, Our 6 dumpsters are emptied weekly in the spring and fall, Thursdays. Once the summer hits they get emptied multiple times per week to ensure enough room. We hope you decide to visit again and we can get you on a site that better meets your needs and expectations.

We were only in camp for 1 night but the camp and the area are very nice.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sometimes the short stops can be the best stops. We look forward to your next pass thru. Travel safe!

For me a KOA stop is for 1-3 nights, we travel full time all over the country. I don’t care for seasonals, their sites always seem cluttered and messy. Your campground seemed to mix overnight campers with seasonal campers. I would prefer a better separation between them. Also I’m guessing it’s crazy busy there in the summer months and the gulf cart traffic must be insane they always drive to

Great KOA, very nice sites Will be back in the fall.

Easy pull thru sites, fire pits nice & clean
Apr 14, 2025
Very friendly and caring staff at check in. Friendly staff throughout stay answering my questions. So glad to have cabin with shower and bathroom. The bed had the best mattress I have ever slept on (better than any hotel I have been in). Thank you for a GREAT campout. Fire pit large and appreciated. Grounds well cared for. Nice areas to walk and enjoy lake.

I enjoyed the entire stay. The only thing that was a minor issue was the sewer connection in the ground was a little high which was higher than my connection causing it to be up hill.

Was nice

Our site was very unlevel, not what we expect from a koa. The washroom building was under construction and was a big inconvenience as we were so far away from the other bathhouse. We were told there was one shower available but the bathhouse was so dirty they shouldn't be used.Something going on with the water as well. Full of black stuff. It clogged up our filter.off season but expect better!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your feedback, Site 305 is one of our most requested sites, the only pull thru on the fish pond. During your visit we were performing our seasonal water startup in accordance with IDEM guidelines which does include sanatizing and flushing of all pipes.

I have been using koa cabins for years. The cabin we stayed in was listed as a deluxe cabin but did not meet the normal level of koa cabins. The heat was inadequate probably due to the grate in the floor that you could see outside. Most of the electrical outlets were non functional. The shower head was hanging from the wall. The TV was not working correctly. No amenities in the kitchen. And other.

People running this place need terminated. They make up lies about their customers and tell untrue things about finances to people. Even if I wanted to come back, I wouldn’t because of the management team. They owe my husband and I an apology for lying to our son about us. Please share! Happy for others to read this and protect themselves from the drama. Would love to elaborate more.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your feedback in regards to the enforcement of the long term camping agreement as written, We wish you happiness in your future camping endeavors.

Overpriced, the staff is very rude. Half of the campground is flooded.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We understand your frustration after deciding to cancel your seasonal site after the deadline. Angola did receive more rain in 8 days this spring then all of 2024.

Stay was as good as expected. Office staff very friendly and site was clean. Workers driving carts around need to slow down as everything is not a race. Trash pickup slow but it was the off season so I'm sure staffing not at peak yet. WiFi still not up to par and have been told every year for the last four years I've stayed here that they are working on it. I will stay again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We appreciate your kind feedback during the winter stay. Wifi across 45 Acres can be difficult. We are working with our current contractor as well as exploring more options to better meet the park and camper needs of 2025!

We wish the TV worked in our cabin ! It was cold and rainy but we made the best of it ! Hogback KOA is nice campground !

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are in the process or looking for a new wifi provider to increase guest satisfaction, We thank you for your patients as we find ways to better improve the park.

Very disappointed. We had stayed for many years on our way home at this park when it was Circle B. We came in with a 42ft fifth wheel for an over night stay and had to back in on some small site not suitable for that size rv. We were told nothing else available when we got there at 11:00 in morning although there was at least one spot on a pull thru that evening and when we left at 6:45 am.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize for your dissatisfaction, We did accommodate you same day on a 50' Long back in At the time of your arrival a reservation existed for all other pull thru sites. We hope in the future we are able to better accommodate you with our limited winter sites.

We are looking forward to posting images of our newly renovated bath house to better meet our campers needs. New fixtures, better hvac and ventilation, and faster hot water times! Thank you for your patients and pardoning of the work as we improve our facilities.

We stayed in a cabin over memorial weekend. Very impressed with all there was to do for the kids (even with crummy weather). Nice facilities!! our cabin was so spacious and VERY clean!! The activities were so fun. Everyone we ran into was so welcoming including all the staff!! We really appreciated feeling at home for the weekend! Definitely plan to be back to enjoy with warmer weather!! If you have kids/teenagers this place is a must!!!

We come here a couple times every year with family. Has a ton of stuff to do for kids, including lake with beach, lazy river and pool, jumping pads and a couple of playground, fishing peers etc. We love it here!

PROS: Looking for a great spot for kids to have a blast during the day? This is THE place. My son is almost nine and he loved the pool with lazy river, the activities (golf cart candy parade and tie dye) and just biking and hanging out with neighbor kids. There are so many wonderful choices for children and I value that! I found the bathrooms to be fairly clean for the amount of people camping on this weekend. CONS: The site we were given (733) was an actual nightmare to park our rig on. Backing in, even for someone skilled, was horrible. There were bricks in the road (to prevent water ponding) and it popped our tire. There was not a way around them backing into the site. We were not given an alternative site and that was infuriating. Do NOT choose site 733 if you want to start your weekend off peacefully. The lady at the front that checked us in even jokingly said “geez I hope you don't get stuck trying to get into that spot” but I had no clue what she meant until we saw the spot. What a shame. The second con is the noise. Many of the sites are seasonal and the guests have golf carts. It makes walking around, especially with littles on bikes, not only unnerving but downright dangerous. With that said, they cruise around, music blasted, until quiet hours which begin at 11pm. With an exhausted kiddo at 9pm, the noise can be a lot. It's too much truthfully. If you're hoping for a little bit of peace, you'll be sad here. If you love a good ruckus and have kids up super late-this is your dream spot. Again, don't choose site 733 though. You've been warned. 🙃
