These moist, flavorful donuts bring a perfect fall flavor with just three ingredients. If you want an even sweeter treat add our Cider Glaze to the donuts!
Three Ingredient Apple Cider Donuts
Ingredients:
- 1 (13.25 oz) box spice cake mix
- 2 cups unsweetened applesauce
- 1 packet instant cider mix
Cinnamon sugar topping (optional):
- ½ cup melted butter
- ½ cup cinnamon sugar
Cider glaze topping (optional):
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tbsp cider
- Sprinkles
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray three 6-count donut pans with cooking spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, apple sauce and cider mix and stir until well combined, 2-3 minutes.
3. Make piping bag. Spoon batter into a gallon-size zip top plastic bag, cut a hole in one corner and pipe batter into donut pans, filling just to the top of each well.
4. Bake for 15-17 minutes until tops spring back.
5. Cool for five minutes, then remove from pan and continue to cool.
6. Decorate, if desired Makes 12-18 donuts, depending on size of donut pans.
Optional cinnamon sugar topping:
1. Brush melted butter on all sides of a donut and roll in cinnamon sugar. Repeat with remaining donuts
Optional cider glaze topping:
1. Combine powdered sugar and cider to create a thick glaze. Dip each donut in glaze and top with sprinkles.
