Enjoy a seasonal twist on a classic camping dessert with a favorite fall – pumpkin spice. These brown bears are a simple camping recipe that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Not a fan of pumpkin spice? Come up with your own unique toppings for you brown bears.
Pumpkin Spice Brown Bears
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (12-14 oz)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 4 Tbsp. pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 1-3 Tbsp. milk
Directions
- Open biscuit can and separate biscuits.
- Mix granulated sugar and 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice together until well blended. Melt butter in a heat-safe pan.
- Combine powdered sugar, pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice in a small bowl, add milk, a bit at a time, until glaze can be drizzled.
- Take the biscuit dough and roll individual pieces in hands to form into long, snake-shaped rolls. Wrap the snake-like dough around a stick or marshmallow roaster in a coil fashion.
- Cook over a campfire until evenly browned.
- Roll the cooked dough in the melted butter and then in the cinnamon/sugar mixture then drizzle with glaze.
