Pie Iron Cherry Pies
Ingredients
- Softened butter
- Refrigerated pie crust
- Canned cherry pie filling
- Cream cheese
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tsp. milk
Directions
- 1. Ensure your campfire has burned for at least 10-20 minutes so there are areas of hot coals.
- Clean and oil pie iron.
- Unroll pie crust dough and cut to fit each side of the pie iron.
- Spread one side of each piece of dough with softened butter and place butter-side-down in each
side of pie iron. - Add 2-3 Tbsp cherry pie filling and 1 Tbsp cream cheese
- Close pie iron and place in hot coals. Cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally and checking
occasionally to see if crust has turned golden brown. - Place powdered sugar in a small bowl and slowly add milk until frosting can be drizzled. If it
gets too thin, add more powdered sugar. - Drizzle pies with frosting and serve.
Pie Iron Choco Waffles
Ingredients
- Softened butter
- Frozen waffles
- Chocolate hazelnut spread
- Fresh berries – blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc.
Directions
- Ensure your campfire has burned for at least 10-20 minutes so there are areas of hot coals.
- Clean and oil pie iron.
- Spread one side of each waffle with butter and place butter-side-down in both sides of pie iron.
- Spread both sides with chocolate hazelnut spread and fill each waffle pocket with 1- 2 berries.
- Close pie iron and place in hot coals. Cook for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally and checking occasionally to see if waffles have turned golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve!
