Sometimes we forget that the simplest things are the tastiest! This classic camp favorite is easily customizable with your favorite toppings.
Loaded Campfire Chili Dogs
Ingredients:
– 1 can chili with beans
– 1 package hot dogs
– 1 package hot dog buns
– Shredded cheddar cheese
– Sliced jalapeños
– Chopped red or green onions
– Diced avocado
– Hot sauce (optional)
– Corn chips, for serving
Tools:
– Campfire or fire pit
– Campfire roasting forks
– Fire-safe saucepan or disposable pan
Directions:
1. Shred cheese, slice jalapeños, chop onions and dice avocado. (Can be done ahead and brought to camp.)
2. Put chili in pan and place on fire, stirring occasionally while it heats up.
3. Skewer hot dogs on forks and cook over flames until heated through.
4. Place each hot dog in a bun, top with chili and add toppings of choice.
5. Enjoy!
