A little pre-prep and this 3 course meal lets everyone take a hand at cooking!

Full Dinner on a Stick

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-ounce) pkg mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips, frozen
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent rolls (8-count)
  • Mustard of choice
  • Dill pickle spears
  • 1 package hot dogs
  • 8 ears of corn, husked and trimmed
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Carrot sticks, celery, sticks, bell peppers sticks and sliced cucumber with ranch dip

Directions:

  1. Before camping, prepare crispy rice treats: melt butter in a large pot set over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in crispy rice cereal. Add frozen chocolate chips (freezing helps keep the chocolate from melting) and stir to incorporate throughout. Press into a greased 8-inch pan, cover and let sit at room temperature until set. Cut into squares and store in a zip top bag or covered container.
  2. At camp: light campfire.
  3. Unroll crescent rolls and brush each triangle with mustard.
  4. Thinly slice dill pickle spears.
  5. Cut a lengthwise slit in each hot dog and place a pickle strip inside.
  6. Roll each hot dog in a crescent triangle, starting at the widest end.
  7. Skewer each hot dog on a campfire fork and hold over the fire until crescent roll and cooked through, about 8 minutes.
  8. Skewer each cob of corn on a skewer and hold over the fire until slightly charred, about 3-4 minutes.
  9. Remove from skewers and spread with butter, salt and pepper.
  10. Skewer crispy rice squares and hold over fire until golden brown.
