Want to Make Your Own Dog Toy? Here’s How

Bringing Fido along for your camping trip but don’t want to dirty up his toys from home? Braided dog toys are the perfect solution! These simple, do-it-yourself upcycled dog toys take minutes to make from materials that you likely already have in your household. They’re the perfect accessory to pack in your doggy travel bag as you hit the road for adventure. Follow the quick steps below and you’ll have your furry friend wagging their tail in no time!

What You’ll Need

  • Scissors
  • Old t-shirts

Directions

  1. Cut t-shirts into strips. More strips will make for a stronger toy. You can also vary your design using shirts of different colors, however this is optional.
  2. Tie your strips together near the top using a strong knot before separating strips into three sections and braiding.
  3. Once you reach the bottom of the braid, tie another knot to secure the braid.
  4.  Give to your four-legged friend to enjoy some Kamp K9 playtime at your favorite KOA!
