Caramel Apple Dump Cake

Ingredients

  • 6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 1 box spice cake mix
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • Ice cream, caramel sauce and flaky sea salt, for garnish

Directions

1. Preheat grill to medium high. Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet on grill and add apples and butter. Cook, stirring occasionally, until butter has melted. Stir in cinnamon, caramel sauce and a pinch of sea salt.
2. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over apples and top with pecans. Drizzle with remaining ¾ cup melted butter, tilting pan to cover as much of the cake mix as you can. Do not stir!
3. Close grill and bake cake over indirect heat (turning flame off under cake) for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
4. Remove from heat and serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and flaky sea salt.
5. Serves 8-10
