Phyllo dough works like magic in a pie iron, yielding crispy, buttery pastry enfolding your favorite fillings!
Campfire Puff Pastry
Ingredients
- Cooking spray or softened butter
- 1 package frozen phyllo, thawed according to pack instructions
- 1 container whipped cream cheese
- Granulated sugar or honey
- 1 package of fresh raspberries, washed
- Peanut butter
- Bananas
- Mini marshmallows
Directions:
- Start your fire.
- Coat the inside of each pie iron with cooking spray or brush with butter
- Unfold phyllo dough and cut into squares the same size as your pie irons.
- For the raspberry cheesecake phyllo: place a square of phyllo on either side of pie iron. Spread one side with cream cheese and sprinkle with sugar or honey. Top with raspberries and seal into pie iron, cutting of any excess dough from outside the pie iron.
- For the fluffernutter phyllo: Place a square of phyllo on either side of pie iron. Spread one side with peanut butter and top with sliced banana and mini marshmallows. seal into pie iron, cutting off any excess dough from outside the pie iron.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients, spraying or buttering pie irons before each batch.
