Smoky sausage, tender potatoes and flavorful veggies become even more delicious with this tangy, sweet glaze. We love this fall recipe!
Beer Glazed Sausage Kabobs
Ingredients
- 1 lb. baby Yukon gold potatoes, parboiled
- 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 1 large sweet onion
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 bottle stout, such as Guinness
- ½ cup real maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp. stone ground mustard, plus more for dipping
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
Directions
- Parboil the potatoes until they are just starting to soften. You can do this in advance.
- Clean and oil grill grates and preheat grill to medium-high.
- Cut sausage, onion and peppers into bite-size pieces. Cut the potatoes in half.
- Thread sausage, potatoes, onion and peppers onto skewers.
- In a heatproof pan or bowl, whisk together stout, maple syrup, mustard, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Place on the hot grill and bring to a simmer, whisking occasionally.
- Place skewers on the grill and baste with sauce. Cook for several minute on each side, basting well, until veggies are tender, and meat and veggies are starting to char.
- Remove from grill and serve with more mustard.
- Serves 4-6
