Campground Reviews

This is our second stay at the Lazy Days KOA Tucson. It’s a very nice campground with a huge dog park unless there’s been a rain and the dog park is full of water. But don’t despair because there are a couple of small dog parks also. It’s an enjoyable campground to walk around in. The BBQ Rush Restaurant serves good food and was a great place to watch the Super Bowl.

This was one of the best KOA we have stayed. I just wished I would have seen that some site have a small dog area at your site.

Great facilities. Friendly helpful staff.

Site 1342 is directly across from the registation office, and this is a big park, resulting in constant diesel engines idling right next to your RV. Constant traffic as this is right on the crossroads to both park entrances. The general area is sketchy, with razor wire fences surrounding the park very welcome. Area noise from the airport, military air base, trains and freeway is constant.

We stay every year during the rock show. It’s one of our favorite parks.

Prices are getting too high!

Overall everything was great, the only thing stopping me from a 5Star was the street noise (especially at night). The sites that are not on the perimeter may be quieter. The staff was great, the laundry and showers, always clean. The restaurant on site is an added plus when you don’t want to cook. Very close to the Tucson loop for those cyclists. Close to Saguaro National Park.

Perfect for what we needed. Staff was friendly. Loved the amenities. The hot tub was great after a long drive.

Check in staff when we arrived was very abrupt and borderline rude. Not a pleasant person to deal with. While we enjoy that we can bring our dogs, it's not enjoyable when another guest leaves theirs tied up outside alone and barking. Staff did not seam to address this when brought uo. Abby was the best staff member, just a fun person

Beautiful clean campground. Wide spaces. Easy to find. Will definitely be back!

We always enjoy our stays at this KOA. Unfortunately it rained and we were not able to use the pet pen at our campsite due to water and mud. Not their fault, just disappointing to pay extra and not get to use. Will be back again.

Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Clean well kept park with many amenities.

We had the buddy site, which was great, everybody like it. I gave it four stars because we could not enjoy the site because of the weather. Raining and cold most of the week. Unfortunately, you can't control the weather. One other problem was our cable connection was terrible, lots of fuzz on the TV. Could not use.

The staff was great. Our stay was wonderful. They worked with us for problems with the truck. Always events within the campground to do. Cafe in campground had good food. Than you Tucson koa.

We have stayed here before and will again. Very nice place.

Had a deluxe cabin for a 2 night stay. It was clean comfortable and well-appointed. The campground was clean, quiet and well-run.

Nice campground, if you like HUGE! Also lots of activities if you’re interested. Facilities were clean. First campground we’ve encountered that had a fitness center. Too bad the one machine I wanted didn’t work properly.

This is a great KOA with so much to do at the campground for adults and kids alike. We enjoyed the shuffleboard in the club house! Only thing I was disappointed about was the WiFi. Maybe we were at the one site with absolutely zero WiFi, but this was a significant issue given I was supposed to log in and do some work and had no WiFi at the site.

Was walking with my wife and dog on main entrance road inside the park behind the restaurant, at dusk, wearing reflective belt and carrying flashlights. It was still light out. The sidewalk parallels the road and we were visible to any vehicles. A restaurant employee speeding in the beer cart came up on the sidewalk we were on nearly striking my wife and dog, KOA refuses to do anything about it.

We called the morning of February 9th to ask why we didn't have any water. The women who took the call said an email was sent out to everyone; when my husband told her we didn't receive an email, she very nastily said everyone who was registered or checked in was told about the water being turned off. That was not the case; we didn't receive your email. We should receive a refund for the day.

We had a fabulous time even though I have the following suggestions for improvement. The bathrooms near the far pool were out of toilet paper and needed cleaning for at least 12 hours. The microwave and eating table next to it needed cleaning for the 3 days we were there. And I would still go back in a heartbeat! Beautiful place!!

Once again amazing at the Tucson KOA. We full time and this has become a “home away from home” location. Everything about it is great. They had a water issue and communicated the change and how to manage. Excellent customer service!

Everything was great except the terrible Tengonet internet, and the loss of water on our last day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice clean park.

This was one overnight stay, at arrival we were informed no water was available. As a result none of the facilities were of any value. My back ground is civil construction, that was any easy repair and should have been accomplished within hours and not days. At the very least KOA should credit every guest back whatever amount deemed fair.

Always a pleasure to stay there

Came to Tucson for the Gem Fair, too bad this year the weather didn't co-operate with us, but that is not KOA's fault. The campground is clean and well kept with plenty on activities for all ages, most importantly it is dog friendly with plenty of places to walk.

This campground was very nice with lots of amenities! Garbage and recycle pick-up right at your trailer, a nice restaurant that would deliver directly to your campsite and lots of activities each day! Staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay there!

Internet is weak, and not very strong. Someone has to get the spots near benson highway, and we did, morning traffic noise is loud. restaurant is good, seem to be out of chicken the night we ate there however. Large campground and appeared to be full. Water was shut off for repairs the morning we left, we had plenty of notice so put extra in our tank just in case.

The site needed some TLC. Had to use blocks under my jacks and the entry to the onsite doggy area was a mud hole. Granted it rained the whole time we were there but I was unable keep mud out of my coach. This facility is awesome, the down grade was for site needed maintenance.

Nice place, however we needed a few extra minutes after check out. We called and the lady on the phone was very rude. No, get over here and check.out ASAP!

We just wrapped up our stay at the Tucson Lazydays KOA Resort, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer for RV camping. Forget the dusty campgrounds of my past - this place was a resort oasis! We opted for a shaded pull-through RV site. Huge solar panel roof is provided perfect shade. We've been little bit dissappointed by the on-site restaurant, BBQ Rush. The food is delicious food, but three counted brisket slices and three counted ribs for almost $30 looks to me little bit out of range. The dog park is awesome, huge, shaded, perfect for any pet. Connectivity is not the best I've seen. The campground WiFi wasn't the most reliable and, due the site we choose, the solar panel roof above is an issue for Starlink as well. Also my T-Mobile 5G back-up connectivity was not performing very well. Overall, the Tucson Lazydays KOA Resort gets two thumbs up from us! It's perfect for campers who crave a resort-style experience with all the trimmings.

Been coming here for a couple years and in most areas they shine. Some of these activities might be seasonal, we were there Feb-Mar 2024, so keep that in mind. Spacious sites and most are level, cable tv available but pretty basic(no Golf or Hallmark/GAC channels), fruit trees(orange, lemon, grapefruit) that you can pick from, two pools with hot tubs, a restaurant on-site with generally decent food, two laundry rooms(which sometimes get crowded and there are usually machines down for maintenance), a fitness center with treadmills/bikes/rowing machines & dumbbell weights(thanks go to the slimeball who stole 1-30lb dumbbell around the middle of Feb-it made me up my weight), basic pickleball court, and two sets of bathrooms with showers. Park is kept really clean by the crew patrolling in golf carts continually during the day. Sunday pancakes w/ sausage for $ was good, but even better when they switched back to blueberries versus chocolate chips. The staff handling that were great & fun! Donuts/snacks on Thursday's were also fun. They charged a $1 for a donut this year but no big deal as far as I was concerned. Previous yrs saw the young, & yes some old, take advantage of the free ones. There were also plenty of crafty things going on, along with Trivia every so often in the restaurant. Couple downers this year and one was Bingo. Previous years they had cash payout for winning, this year it was a ‘Mystery Prize' that you got when spinning the wheel. Half hour bike rental, 6 wings, etc. We attended one time to see what it was, and never went back. Used to fill two rooms, with maybe 8-10 tables, approx. 8 people at each table. The time we went there was one room, couple tables, not filled. Used to be a fun social get-together. Heard the money all went to their Kare Camp fund, which is a great cause. But from what I understand, the fund got half of the proceeds from previous years. With attendance down, I wonder if they made more or less this year. Another downer was realizing that deposits & site picks for next year had increased 5 times from the previous year! That's a lot of MY money for KOA to be sitting on for a year. Also, water was shutoff three different times for maintenance. They did warn everyone days in advance, so use of your fresh water tank was imperative. Felt sorry for the tent campers though. Water out meant bathrooms closed too. They were fixing leaks. Gates are closed & guarded at night. There is some noise. Two busy streets, one International Airport, one Air Force Base, and train tracks, can disturb the light sleeper. Propane refill is offered. Last I heard, motorhomes go to them, they do not come to your site. Plenty of dog areas are offered all over the park. Heard some yippers on/off. Plan on going back again but hope some things change back the way they were. Seemed to be a lot less comradery this year.
