Campground Reviews

Campground was nice but the staff was clueless when it came to the activity schedule. No one ever knew what was going on and the teens running the events were always on their phones. While I know bees are part of nature there is clearly a bee problem in the campground. They also did not enforce quiet hours and it was loud all the time.

My family had a wonderful time!

One of the big pools was extremely murky & dirty on Sunday. Busy weekend but it should’ve been cleaned that morning.

Pretty views, but disappointed in kid activities. Website schedule does not reflect the campground. We showed up for the Schefuled activities and no one was there.

Great resort with lots of activities and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Great stay, but I wish the older restrooms and shower would get a makeover.

The bathrooms are a disgrace to civilization.

Year 4 for us. We look forward to our stay every year. Everyone is friendly the prices are solid. My only issue that’s not a big deal is I looked forward to having little to no cell service at the camp sites. But with the WiFi’s set up you are connected. I encourage everyone to try vail once!

Our stay was great. Your are doing some really nice renovations. The entire staff was pleasant and helpful. The one down note was the unfortunate experience with the employee at the front gaurd building. We had guests come for a visit and he was extremely rude. After paying the $10 day use, fee he literally threw the pass through their window on the dash. Other camps told me he did it to them 2

Cabin is super great over all. Observed kitchenware has no cover. As well as the ceiling fan and top of cabinet needs attention. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you

We have been here for years in the tent spot so we were excited about the remodel. But the tent section is a terrible layout. The back spots have no close access so you have to drag your stuff all the way over. Also parking is odd and created a lot of confusion for us and our fellow campers.

Only thing we didn’t care for was no shade tree in spot 25. Was really hot and shade would have cooled our spot down some. We are in a class A motorhome. Staff was helpful we will be back on a cooler day.

Zero enforcement of quiet hours. Large group of people in chardonnay were partying, screaming, and yelling until 1 am. Also had large floodlight. Same group was using gold carts after 10 pm with music blaring. Pools were hood. Bands were good.

Great place for the family.

Bathroom was dirty full or spider webs and spiders. Making it hard to give my kids a shower after the pool. Our next door campers had music until 12 or So. Stayed up being loud and obnoxious. No workers in sight to let them know about the quiet hours. Kids not paying attention to when cars are driving on the road and just cutting you off while driving.

It was not pleasant. The breaker kept popping. It was a very hot day. We were not comfortable at all had to wake up and leave early. I would like my money back first time at a KOA campsite and not happy at all.

Sites are mostly dirt, not graded with rocks/holes, not level. plug in posts are deteriorated. Sewer holes are small without threads so there is odor when dumping. Sites are definitely not maintained/quality is definitely misrepresented on the web page/price is way too high for such low quality. The price for cheap pine wood is outrageous &the rule you can’t burn your own is stupid and not typic

If the maintenance was kept up I would give this a much higher score. The Oaks bathroom had holes in the ceiling and the showers were in disrepair. The miniature golf course greens were torn up. It was also a little pricey overall but that may be the going rate these days. Staff was generally helpful and pleasant. Grandkids enjoyed the pools. Nice touch to have live music on weekends.

Our stay was nice, but it was too hot. This was our first visit. Next time we’ll choose another time of year and stay in the Chardonnay sites.

We always have a good time at Temecula Vail Lake. The cabin is clean and quiet with comfortable beds. The grounds are nicely maintained with a terrific pool area . Rent a golf cart and really enjoy your stay.

Great interesting facilities and great staff. Miranda was especially helpful. The bathrooms can be quite far from the campsites so that was a little negative and why I don't rate recommending as highly. We might return someday.

We stayed in the newly renovated Arroyo section this time and loved it!! We usually stay in the Oaks which we also really enjoy, but this is our new favorite. The new bathrooms are really nice and we really like that there are so many pull thru sites.

We enjoyed the pool, the store for ice and little goodies for the kids and the snack shop for some yummy ice cream. Thank you.

Cabin for 7 people luckily we only had 2. 1 pot for cooking 4 each spoons and forks air conditioning didn’t work well .. too much noise after 10. Children as young as 12 driving the golf carts. Lake road closes at 5.

Check-in was a clown show - no signage I ever saw for CHECK IN LANE or OFFICE so I drove right past & pulled over in a site to call the office for help. Several calls went to voice mail, finally unhooked our car to drive back to the office after asking people where to go. Staff were chatting with each other instead of answering the phone. Good time after that! Liked the sandwich place & bar.

Had a great time at Vail Lake my only complaint is about the leaf blower noise at 7:00am in the morning. Maybe they can start a little bit later in the morning, otherwise we’ll be back in December

Very clean and well kept. Would of stayed longer if not for the heat and our AC broke on the second day. :(

The best camping trip my family ever did

Great service and amenities are clean. Bar never opened on Thursday 7/9 and 2 of the girls working the front counter in check in office could have been more pleasant. The attitudes of check in staff should always be positive given they are the first people we see. I have never had this issue anywhere else I have stayed, KOA or not.

Our stay was wonderful; however, our cabin was not clean. There was old food and fruit on the side of the fridge, and our shower was dirty, with dried soap on the wall, all of which we cleaned ourselves. Other than that, we had a great time.

Our stay was great and customer service was amazing. The campgrounds are full of amenities and everything is clean. My only concern is the BMX bike trials. They need to be either permanently closed or security needs to be on site at all times as inexperienced riders are getting on it and getting hurt. While there an ambulance arrived for injured person. That is scary when you have children.

We have stayed with Temecula KOA twice prior to this last caming. The first time we stayed in the arroyo section in a tent and loved the privacy and space we had, so we couldn’t wait for construction to be don’t as it had been closed for about a year. On our return this time we found out construction was still in process and spots were crowded and not easily accessible.

Amenities don’t match price point per night. Bathrooms are “well used” and out dated, mini golf course is in desperate need of repair for a decade and roads are crumbling in areas just a few examples. Staff are amazing and friendly and scenery is beautiful and peaceful.

About 20% of the sites are very nice. The majority are a blight. Dusty, dirty, no trees, unlevel...like camping in a drive in theater parking lot. If you opt to lock in a site, you can get a nice one. We learned that the hard way. No signage to direct you, just drive around and look. Many sites the number is missing, so you have to find one with a sign and count. No maps at front desk.

security and the store employees have attitude at Temecula KOA, which isn’t welcoming, KOA lake Isabel have the best customer service and very welcoming, learn from them. Temecula KOA is a good campsite for RV’s, but not for tent campers. Bathrooms were nice and clean, big pool. Tent sites are in one small area, that there’s no privacy, felt as in jail rather the freedom of being in the nat

Sorry, this has to be the Worst KOA We Have ever Stood. And I Have Camp in Many from Central to Western United States. The Restrooms or the Outhouses You have are Disgusting.

We had a great time! The environment was clean and everyone we spoke to were friendly staff. Looking forward to the next trip

Everything was great. The campsite is very nice. We have never camped before. We had a nice cabin. Except for our air going out and the propane tank being empty all was good. Both were fixed once we called

We went to KOA for a family reunion. Campgrounds are great. We plan on going again at a cooler time of the year and when it’s leas crowded.

We had a great time with a large group we were with - friends stayed in their RVs and trailers and we were in a cabin. Another family we were with also got a cabin. I felt like staff in the camp store/front desk were not very friendly. The ammenities/activities seemed a little outdated and run down. Unfortunately on the last day our water was turned off - that was a bummer.

The Lower Merlot is the tenement yard of the KOA franchise. It has an 18th century bathroom that Beethoven utilized.

Temecula KOA at Vail Lake is a massive RV resort with various campgrounds. The entire resort alone provides so much area to get a good walking, jogging and cycling workout. We got a good spot and, therefore, enjoyed the views, fresh air and clean atmosphere. There are lots of trees and grassy fields here, unlike RV parks that look like parking lots. It's also just a short drive away from the wineries. If you like to drink wine but don't have a designated driver, just hire an Uber or Lyft.
