We were very impressed with the accommodations and the activities. It was a great weekend get away. I like that the option to fill propane tank was available. Also, anything we may need could be found at the store, and we could purchase wood too.

I wish they spend some money on rehabbing existing structures like the bathrooms and roads. The campsite seems focused on the new cabins but not really maintaining the existing sites.

The site was nice - trees. Roomy site. Loved the market! Something for everyone. Check in was easy. Friendly staff! Huge disappointment was the restroom/shower. No stool or chair in the shower to put your things on. Some showers didn’t even have hooks for hanging clothes/towel. Need paint and wall repair. No one was using the bathroom - I can see why. Many large potholes in the road.

We had a very relaxing stay!

Always enjoy our stay at Vail Lake. One issue with this visit, we saw children (under age)driving your rented golf carts too fast. This is a concern and there should be security checking randomly to avoid possible accidents .

Checked in to cabin and found 1 TV remote with no batteries. Also TV would not connect and had to have staff come by 3 times to fix the TV's Ice maker not working in Refrigerator/Freezer.

The first time I stayed in the merlot lot and there was no hot water in the showers. I decided to go back to see if they have done any maintenance to the bike trails and again the showers in the merlot lot were not hot and the bike trails are poorly maintained. They did move me to another spot with hot water but what a hassle.

We like this KOA, but our visit this time had some frustrations. We spent a whole day without electricity. Then after taking down our camp when time to leave, there was no water in the bathroom so I could wash my hands. There was no sign up warning about the water. I had soap on my hands and had to walk back to the campsite to wash it off.

Our stay was amazing as usual. I would like to see the roads in the campground upgraded. There were many potholes this year. This is dangerous to the kids riding their bikes.

We've been coming for years now. We are a little concerned with the increase in traffic. We saw several golf carts driven and filed with other young people. I also didn't like the vehicle traffic on the belly opened road that leads down to the lake. I hope you consider closing it to 4 wheeled vehicles. We come from an area where kids on scooters has become problematic, renting them will not help.

The asphalt really needs to be re-paved in the Rincon loop. It’s pretty dangerous. But we love staying there!

Disappointed w/maintenance of grounds, specifically path from Oaks to Village. After falling September 2025 and fracturing wrist which required surgery with plate and nine screws, was told some markings would be added for walking safety. Returned w/family in January found no improvement; not even yellow paint on roadway. This KOA site clearly has no concern to improve walkways for guest safety!!!

We enjoyed our day at the KOA, are only complaints were the amount of towels that were left for us to use for showers. Other than that, we had an absolute wonderful time.

The campground is spacious. Great for kids. Safe yet kids can have freedom to roam. Bathroom / showers need attention. Ceiling has been falling down for years.

Amazing Cabins and views! Friendly staff and a super fun destination

Enjoy our stays every time. Wish the dog park was a little bigger as there’s plenty of space for a bigger one. The music sat night was awful… more country and less heavy metal. :)

For winter weather was unusually warm because of santa ana winds for 4 days, beyond KOA's control. We will try location again sometime. We were on Chardonay plateau but even in the valley area was just as windy. My husband said the mens restroom on the plateau was gross and he would not shower in there.

We love this KOA. Tons of hiking trails, super dog friendly, and peace and quiet (go during week). Highly recommend this KOA. Always clean and staff is always so kind.

Clean nice RV resort with great amenities. Bathrooms could use an update.

Lovely quiet campsite (we did go in January) with beautiful mature oak trees. Excellent facilities (though the restroom near us needed some attention), bike and walking trails to the lake, pickleball, crazy golf, and come summer there are some very well maintained pools. If you’re a bird lover, there are plenty of woodpeckers and we even had two bald eagle sightings. We’ll be back.

Great midweek stay, campground was very uncrowded and quiet. Good time to unwind and relax.

The resort is great. I love the live music and bar area where a lot of us can hang out. The bathrooms / showers could use some love though. There is some mold and just a very old look - at least at the bathroom heading up to Rincon. Thanks

The Lower Merlot is the tenement yard of the KOA franchise. It has an 18th century bathroom that Beethoven utilized.

Temecula KOA at Vail Lake is a massive RV resort with various campgrounds. The entire resort alone provides so much area to get a good walking, jogging and cycling workout. We got a good spot and, therefore, enjoyed the views, fresh air and clean atmosphere. There are lots of trees and grassy fields here, unlike RV parks that look like parking lots. It's also just a short drive away from the wineries. If you like to drink wine but don't have a designated driver, just hire an Uber or Lyft.
