This is a hidden gem! Lots of campsites, just book ahead. Great gift store, staff were so nice, great bar and cafe. Live music on Friday nights. Will definitely be back!!!

I was unaware that there was construction going on in the area that I booked my campsite. I also was unaware that there was absolutely no network connectivity and there was no Wi-Fi and there's no cable and there's no television over the air. It looks like it's going to be lovely when it's finished.

Very grateful that some campsites in Arroyo Seco were made available for the SoCal MTB races. The campsites were opened a little before they were ready but I am thankful that I was able to get a site. The new restrooms/showers are top notch. Arroyo Seco camping area will be awesome when finished.

We tent camped in an RV hook up spot in the Oaks loop. The loop had beautiful tall oak trees. The bathroom had flushing toilets, soap and paper towels but no mirrors. The showers had hot water with good pressure and hooks and shelves in the stall. So the bathroom was not glamorous but adequate, a step above a state park situation. The location was pretty and the “village” looked fun.

It’s always a good time at Vail Lake. The recent upgrades to campsites are nice! Thank you to all the employees for making our stay so much fun.

The campground was very well maintained and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in one of newly renovated sites in the Arroyo loop. I wasn't crazy about the large rock used in the site but I am glad to see the improvements being made. The new bathroom facility is very nice. I hope there are plans to do the same across the entire campground.

We had a great experience! Clean, exciting, friendly (except for maybe the guy at the entrance) and fun! Thank you, we will be back again

Spent the weekend in a cabin for SOCAL Mountain Biking Event. Cabin was in a good location to walk to the event. Cabin was adequately stocked. We appreciated the option to purchase late check out. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. Text responses were prompt and informative. We enjoy the firewood delivery service. The mini golf course could use a little TLC, but it was still fun.

Pretty expensive but really nice

The men's shower facilities at the Lower Merlot need to be fixed, otherwise great time!

It's a mix of old and new right now. The new cabins look great and some of the site with the hardscapes are nice but the new Arroyo site are underwhelming at best and the bathroom facilities in Chardonnay are very run down. Not sure what the investment strategy is but in my opinion it is not aligned for campers and RV'ers.

Just wish I was younger to use all this campgroung has to offer. Stayed is a patio site with a fireplace and enjoyed the stars. Amazing that being this close to Los Angles.

We had a great time over the holiday weekend. Easy in easy out, friendly service. How can we stay updated on the improvements? It’s looking good the pads that have been renovated.. hopefully it will continue. Will be back.

Had a great time as usual! Staff is very kind and accommodating

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. It was raining and the bathrooms were located down a muddy hill so we asked to move. The bathroom was the worst bathroom I had ever seen in ANY campground. Showes had no hooks to hang towels and no bench to put clothes. No mirror? No heat. Not sure if walls had mold or just dirty. I didn't use the facility. I depend on KOA on consistent quality. Not this

Had a fun time as always. The store, restaurant and bar area with live music is a great place to hang out. Went over to the lake and caught a four pound bass. Very fun weekend.

It was a great four days everybody’s professional but all clean. It’s all neat and I will be back again. Thank you.

Overall great experience. The faucet in our bathroom seems be stripped and difficult to find the perfect position so it doesn't drip. No hand towels were left in the main bathroom but we made day. Overall love our stays and keeps us coming back every year.

Great time but had to leave early due to weather since our site had bare dirt We didn't want to pack up in the mud. Appreciate the road to the lake and that there are restrooms there. I would love to see the drink cart year round, hot chocolate and spiked cider! Ability to check in without going inside Please streamline golf cart rental. Less paperwork and more affordable. Thank you

Wish the food was better. It tasted like warmed out microwave meals. Aside from that we loved it!

Great time at Vail KOA. The band Barnyard Boyz was awesome very talented. We liked all the food from the village restaurant breakfast burrito, nachos, pizza and ice cream. Although it could have been a bit cleaner, tables wiped and floor sweep and mopped. Bar had a great selection and priced well. Thank you Vail KOA we will be returning.

Loved our site on the mesa :)

We stayed in the new Arroyo area. It was the first weekend open, so you can tell it needed more work. The spots were not flattened. There were big rocks and uneven dirt with big tractor marks. We left a day early. We love staying in the Chardonnay area so it was a big difference. All in all, we will be back but book in a different area.

Stayed in the newly renovated Arroyo section and it’s coming out great, can’t wait for the whole thing to be finished

Our site was not ready, as in they were still constructing them as we arrived. There were no signs, roads didnt make sense. The gravel pad for rv was very uneven. The actual area for our stay was just loose uneven soil with large boulders we kept tripping on the whole time. I asked front office to be moved, was told it was all booked up, but the whole weekend many spots were unfilled.

Always a great time at KOA Temecula. Love all the new renovations to sites and fun activities for kids.

We had another great experience at Vail Lake. It is definitely one of our favorite destinations!
Feb 15, 2026
The park is lovely but the deferred maintenance is very sad. The roads need more than anything else. Next would be the showers and restrooms. Oh my! It seems that the priorities need to be reviewed! Building patios instead of reparing roads seems backwards. Also - the asphalt installed at the entry several years ago needs a slurry seal before it too fails. Sigh.

Always great. Vail Lake KOA is the perfect getaway. Bringing our golfcart is the best to get to the store, pool, just drive around and see the other sites with our pup. Also to see the great bands on the wknds. Just disappointed it’s a DJ for Friday evenings. Hoping that’s just temporary for now.

The Lower Merlot is the tenement yard of the KOA franchise. It has an 18th century bathroom that Beethoven utilized.

Temecula KOA at Vail Lake is a massive RV resort with various campgrounds. The entire resort alone provides so much area to get a good walking, jogging and cycling workout. We got a good spot and, therefore, enjoyed the views, fresh air and clean atmosphere. There are lots of trees and grassy fields here, unlike RV parks that look like parking lots. It's also just a short drive away from the wineries. If you like to drink wine but don't have a designated driver, just hire an Uber or Lyft.
