What to Do While Camping at the Springfield/Route 66 KOA
Springfield, Missouri, is the perfect place for nature lovers, history buffs, sports enthusiasts, golfers, shoppers, cave explorers and theme park goers.
- Attractions: Learn about hunting and fishing at the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, located only 14 minutes from the campground. Enjoy three miles of trails with nature and conservation exhibits at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, or learn about Civil War history at the Civil War Museum and Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. Sports fans love the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, about 15 minutes away from the campground and Hammons Field for some minor league baseball.
- Activities: There are endless activities to enjoy in the Springfield area. You'll find great shopping at Relics Antique Mall and Tea Room, the Battlefield mall, and Primrose Marketplace. If you're a golfer, you can enjoy an 18-hole course at Deer Lake Golf Course right next to the campground, or BigShots Golf and Getaway Golf can be fun for the whole family. Visit Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park to see beautiful lake, botanical gardens, a butterfly house, walking trails, and the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden. The Dickerson Park Zoo is fun for all ages and has over 500 animals.
- Adventures: Drive past giraffes and other animals at Wild Animal Safari. Explore the only cave large enough for vehicles at The Fantastic Caverns or see a slice of history at the Smallin Civil War Cave. Adventure lovers can enjoy Silver Dollar City's thrilling rides and entertainment, less than an hour away from the campground.

Every site is equipped with a fire ring. Just call the front desk and we'll deliver purchased firewood and fire starters to your site.
Our guests love our on-site Hunt Brothers pizza and wings. We'll make them to order and deliver right to your site. And don't forget our State Fair mini donuts for dessert!
There's plenty of activities for the whole family, so you won't have to leave the campground. We have a swimming pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), corn hole, ladder ball, pedal bikes, photo booths, game room, playground, and gem mining!
Need propane? Let our staff know, and we can pick up your tanks, fill them, and return them to your site.
Bring your furry family member to one of our two KampK9® dog parks where they can run around with other dog pals.
Our excellent Wi-Fi is free for all guests to use and is great for streaming or working from home while you're on the road.
What Site Types Are Available?
- KOA Patio® Sites: Treat yourself while camping in your RV. These exclusive RV sites are the best in the park. They feature an extra large concrete patio, table and chairs with umbrella, a patio swing, gas grill, and extra fire feature. They're also satellite friendly and have a private dog park for only these exclusive sites.
- Deluxe Cabins with full baths: Camp in comfort in a luxury cabin with a full bathroom and kitchenette. These cabins sleep 4-6 people and include all linens, dishes and kitchen tools, and free Wi-Fi. Enjoy the extra-large outdoor area with patio furniture, a fire feature, and gas grill.
- Camping Cabin with patio (no bathroom): Bring your towel and bed linens to this cozy, clean one-bedroom cabin. These cabins have electricity, heating, and air conditioning, but provide a more rustic camping experience. They sleep 4-6 people and have a beautiful outdoor space with a patio, porch swing, table and chairs, and a fire ring. Some of our camping cabins even include a small fridge and TV.
- Tent Sites: Experience a night under the stars with tent camping. Our primitive tent sites are in a grassy area and each have a picnic table and fire ring. We also offer water/electric tent sites that are close to the pool. Our shower houses and camping kitchen are nearby for your convenience.

Policies
Please respect our campground in Springfield, MO with these safety policies. Keep pets, kids, adults and environments safe by following these policies so you can enjoy your stay. Please view more general camp information or ask your campground hosts if you have questions.
- Pets: All pets must remain on a leash, not enter buildings and not be left unattended at campsites and cabins.
- Pool: Adults must accompany all children under 18.
- Campfire: Fire is allowed in designated fire rings unless otherwise noted.
- Trash: Please put any garbage you have in bins throughout the campground or in the large dumpsters next to the KOA garage. You can also leave tied garbage bags outside your rig for us to pick up in the morning.
Check-In and Check-OutAll visitors must register at the office and pay a day-use fee. Please follow these directions if you arrive late after the office has closed.
- Tent Sites and RV Sites: Check-in is anytime after 1 p.m., and check-out is 11 a.m.
- Cabins: Check-in is anytime after 3 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m.
- Arriving late with a reservation: A site map with your site number and name will be waiting for you on the exterior wall to the right of the main building's front door.
- Arriving late without a reservation: Look through night registration instructions and materials located outside the front door of the main building and put a filled-out night registration envelope with your payment in the lock box.
