Campground Reviews

The staff were amazing and very helpful. I booked a 50amp site but was moved to a 30 due to a request by others in my party. They did their best to try and get me back into a 50 but were unable. They offered a refund of half a night as compensation. The sites were clean, pool was kept up well. My daughter loved the activities they had available. Overall it was a good time.

Friendly staff, plus provide shuttle to the royal gorge or downtown for a small fee. Very clean park and big RV sites

We had a spacious pull thru site for our 40 foot 5th wheel. The tree on the site provided great shade. The restrooms were clean, grounds well-maintained and friendly staff.

We hold A family reunion every year, this is the first year at Royal Gorge KOA-. The customer service was amazing, the facilities were great, and the people were incredibly friendly. We are wanting to book for futures, ASAP. Thank you so much!

The spot was nice we had room for all of our stuff. We also enjoyed all the extra activities that were available. We will definitely be going back.

Our site was almost too small for my 35 foot 5th wheel, even though assured it would. The site was covered with puncher weeds full of thorns! Very uncomfortable for anyone to walk on and they clung to your shoes and transferred to the trailer constantly. A little maintenance could solve this nasty problem.

It was very relaxing and calming. We didn't have an opportunity to use most of the amenities, but tthat was our fault. The only complaint I have at all was that the Wifi was weak at to it.our site and freequently lost connection

This was our second stay and we love this campground

We had a difficult time finding our site, the sites are not clearly numbed where they can be seen. The site was very uneven and difficult to set up . even though the site was gravel, it should have been more level. Other RV parks have an employee lead you to the site. The sewer dump connection is too high and the hose need to flow up to empty. We were in what was supposed to be a new site.

No internet except sitting in front of the office. Bathroom doors are always open. Why bother giving guests codes to the restrooms? Quit time is not enforced. Some guest are still very loud at midnight. Kids play games in the restrooms. The camp site is very big. Directions are not clear. I got lost after going to the restroom at night. Some light and signage will be helpful.

I think I was over charged. I had booked and paid for a site with patio but I was placed in I4. I just realized this when now. Possible for refund for the difference would be great. [email protected].

Would be 5 stars. But for the last two years our reservation that we made a year in advance, was given away. Yeah... not very happy about that.

We had a wonderful time! The staff and amenities were lovely! Thank you!

The site we ended up in was great. Do believe we were over charged at the store and when we questioned the charges our heads were spinning. 8 different charges and refunds were put through our credit card.

Disappointed by EVERYthing. Over-crowded with teeny, tiny, cramped, rutted, unlevel RV sites (your RV almost touches your neighbors), to dirty co-ed bathrooms and showers (only 2 of each for the entire site) with no privacy or safety/security measures, and no ventilation/climate control, added to unleashed aggressive dogs running around, and an extremely rude staff. Never again.

Staff is very friendly, the place is in need of some upgrades and maintenance. A couple of the stalls in the women's restroom and shower don't latch, the mini golf course is run down, the pool water was murky. The restrooms and showers are clean, and the laundry facility is nice and clean. We stayed in a tent site with electricity. Beautiful view but no shade.

I made reservations for 2 rv sites together and a cabin. I got our confirmation a couple weeks out that said sister sites but originally I was told they weren’t available so I called and we were moved to different sites not together. It was fixed. Then when we arrived we were moved apart again. The lady also didn’t mention the activities or where they would be posted.

Cabin was clean. The a/c was great! Bathrooms were very clean and showers had warm water. Lots for kids to do. We had a great stay!

Stay was great. Denise at the front desk was fantastic and really helped make our family camping trip amazing!

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the camp was short on amenities and activities. Not a lot of food choices. Definitely a good spot if you’re just passing through for a night or two.

This is our 2nd time staying here. We stayed in the deluxe cabin. The sleeper couch isn't very comfy, you can feel every spring, but is doable for kids. The small room with bunk beds gets a little warm, but the rest of the cabin stays nice and cool with the AC provided. Our shower and fridge weren't cleaned or wiped down before we arrived (kinda gross) but whatever. Overall we love our stay here.

I like KOA's, but the sites are very crowded in Canyon City, big huge pointy rocks everywhere. Everyone is packed in like sardines. There is no room to park your own vehicle. We have a trailer with a slide and couldn't even extend it out all the way. We popped a tire on one of the big pointy rocks and almost did it again leaving. We will not be returning to this KOA.

What a wonderful campground (and I have seen lots of them). Clean facilities, helpful staff, shuttle, delightful owner. Would definately stay again!

We had rented two nights as an RV sight but our RV broke down and we couldn’t camp there. We happened to be there to see the bridge and thought we’d stop in to see if they had a cabin available. They did and flipped the price of two nights RV sight to 1 night in a cabin that had linens and everything. That was a huge help so we didn’t waste our money on camping that we couldn’t be at AND a

Very nice place, very hot in July. Patio sites are awesome!!!
Jul 12, 2022
Site was too narrow, utilities too close to parking pad. Sites should be spaced like your older sites.
Jul 12, 2022
Everything was great except the WiFi. It kept kicking me out, and I would to keep signing in over & over.

The stay was fine. The fact that for the last two years our reservation spot was not reserved, when we booked it a year in advance, and it was given away or whatever you may call it. I am not thrilled about that at all. We tried to reserve a spot for next year before we left this year and told that we couldn't do it because pricing is not current yet. Uhm..... yeah

A lot of fun. Thx for the extra activities! Pool was clean and fun.

Our stay was Wonderful. Clean, friendly and lots of fun! We traveled with little ones and they enjoyed the pool, miniature golf the tractor ride as well as the activities available throughout our stay. We traveled with our RV, Pricing was reasonable, hook up and setting up was smooth. We loved that the KOA is located close to the Royal Gorge. Decently returning in the future, lots more to do!

Ant and bug infested. Tent area way too close together, I could hear the tents next to us snoring all night. They literally had 10 people to one tiny tent site next to us. Would not work with us to relocate us. No shade anywhere, since it is near pueblo it is HOT in the summer with absolutely nowhere to hide from the heat. I am extremely disappointed.

Friendly and helpful staff. Some of the end spots are a little tricky to pull into and require a driver who’s very adept at turning in tight spots. The family enjoyed the stay.

Disappointed. One of the reasons we picked this campground for our 4 day stay was the kid amenities and activities listed as available. Very disappointed when we learned there are no more go karts, and slide had very limited hours. The go karts clearly haven’t been around for quite some time too. It’s time to remove that all together from pictures and website. Site are very small too

As peaceful as it gets this time of year. Stayed here beginning of April 2024. Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Dirt/gravel pad. Pavers, landscaping, and very fine gravel/sand mix fire pit area. Site #B12 General: 1) Very quiet and not many other campers this time of year. 2) 5-7 min for Royal Gorge Bridge Park and overlook picnic areas. 3) Spacious sites and not too close to neighbors and their hookups (many are a touch short but still work well) Campground WiFi: Worked pretty well. Conducted Zoom meetings and able to work on vpn. BUT that is mainly b/c the park was fairly empty. Cell/hotspot using booster: AT&T (3 of 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream. Verizon (4 of 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream. Details: Check-in: Site assignments posted on board. Office hours limited this time of year. Sites: Dirt/ gravel pad. Fairly spacious sites. Site 19: Was not our site but we noticed that the patio side connects directly to laundry and restrooms, so folks seem to forget their manners and cut through that site's patio spot. Campground Road: Dirt road but too not bumpy. Grounds: Clean. Bathrooms/Showers: Clean and well-maintained. Laundry: Worked well. Location: Gas, groceries and restaurants are in town 10 min Near highway: The KOA is slightly off of a main road so there is a touch noise during the day. Near train: No
