We stayed here one night on our way to Colorado Springs. Royal gorge was a pretty cool city! The site we stayed in was in the newer part of the park. We had a concrete patio and the view was great. The site was perfect. Our only complaint was the bathrooms. They were dirty and the structure of the building felt unstable. The floor felt like you were going to fall through.

I grew up in the mountains of CO and now that I live with my own family in Chicago, I have always wanted to bring them to the mountains and stay in a cabin. Cabins out here can be so out of our price range though so this was a game changer for our family. We especially loved the amount of space in the cabin, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the mini golf! Thank you for an amazing time!

Water issues which I understand couldn’t be helped. Air conditioner must have been on some sort of delay timer. Didn’t have air in the middle of the night without getting up ever hour to turn off then back on. Butane bottle was turned off so first night showers were cold. After a phone call Aaron came to turn it on.

Had a nice 3 day long weekend stay. Campground is clean and there is a lot of activities to do near by. When we were there they had wagon rides and free root beer floats. The gampground's water went down the last night we were there so there was no water. Other than that, a great place to stay.

If no other tent sites are booked, the back corner sites are well secluded and quiet. There is not a lot of options for shade, so bring some sort of canopy. Otherwise these are great tent sites.

The cabin was certainly good, quiet hours were observed, but the location was probably the best part.

We stayed in a tent site with no shade and ground was very hard. It was so hot and a near by horse shelter was not cleaning manure. Lots of pile and flies flying around the site.

I really enjoyed my stay - the location is absolutely fantastic. Be sure to put on your hiking boots or running shoes and hit the KOA trail at the bottom of the campground. Don't miss the opportunity to follow the KOA trail one mile to the Alta Vista trail for another mile to visit Alta Vist Point. You'll experience the awesomeness of Royal Gorge in the most beautiful way!

Beautiful campground, and great location near the Royal Gorge. However, we were very disappointed that almost none of the amenities listed on their website were offered (no smores buffet, no hunt for big foot, no BREAKFAST as stated). The slide was barely open during our stay. Our tub did not have a plug, there were no basic necessities in the KOA store (trash bags, dish sponges). I could go on.

We used a tent spot and the pad was nice and big. There was enough room to park our pickup infront of our tent. The bathrooms and shower area were clean. Water was hot!!! Maybe a sign about cactus plants would be a benefit to campers up on the hill where we were. Staff [ young man]was excellent. He was very knowledgeable. We had a great stay. The grounds/campsites are beautiful. I love how they are landscaped with rocks and plants. Staff is friendly. One thing that I feel could be improved are the shower doors. The doors are very difficult to lock and keep closed. Tile and fixtures could be updated, but they are clean. Women's shower curtains are kind of dirty at the bottom. Overall, I would come back.

Site was too short for my trailer and truck, and there were so many barking dogs it was hard to enjoy sitting outside with our dog. There needs to be better monitoring to ask people to control their pets.

The pool was incredibly dirty and had green algae lining the entire inner rim, and had hundreds if not thousands of bugs. It was also the coldest pool we have ever been in. The playground was covered in those goat-head thorns that stuck to the bottoms of shoes and were painful if a kid fell on them. The slide was fun, but only the center lanes were usable. Overall the park could use some TLC.

Camp sites were not clearly defined so parking was pretty unclear, no paved or gravel sites to mark parking. Areas to place a tent were not flat. Area to do dishes was out of use. Pool was cloudy, did not appear to be appropriately cleaned.

Our favorite KOA in Colorado. Always so hospitable and the vibes are so chill with great views. Can’t beat a stay at the Canon City KOA. Love the easy going and friendly nature of the staff as a whole. Thank you for another great stay!

I’ve stayed and a ton of state parks and KOA’s, and this is one of the nicest I’ve seen. A campground is a reflection of the staff and how much they care. This staff was amazing, always cleaning and planning and conducting activities. The pool was open and clean. They had putt-putt, a giant slide and a great hiking trail. The lots are small and a little unlevel. The park is nice and very quiet. If you have a big rig then you want to stay on the north side of the KOA.

It's a very nice campground but the prices are too high for the RV camping sites. I feel prices have tripled since the pandemic and it's only because more people are camping now so campgrounds can take advantage of that campgrounds can take advantage of that.

You cant go wrong with a KOA and this one was no exception. Lots of trees, beautiful views and plenty of room at each site. We had no issues with a 43' class A.
