I liked the proximity and shuttle to Kings Dominion, but felt the site itself was lacking activities and anternainment for the family.

We had a great time and enjoyed the grounds. The shuttle to Kings Dominion was very convenient. The best Mexican food is down the street!

Our weekend started off great and we had an issue that was instantly resolved. Our group of (10) were handled with compassion to our situation. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfortability. I would highly recommend KOA. I look forward to returning in the future.

We’ve always been pleased in times past. This last time was a disappointment. The hall light was broken, the stairway light was broken—the dome had been taken off along with the bulbs and just left on the counter, the handrail kept falling out of the wall, dead bugs filled the upstairs lights by the beds and there was a HUGE gap in the doorframe to the outside—no discount.

Cabin was clean and nice. Would have been a 5 until the cockroach ran out of the futon when we were stripping the bedding.

Cabin bedroom layout was perfect for our family of 4. Appreciated the amount of Tv's in the cabin. Heat worked very well. What I didn't like was the lack of kitchen pots and pans, dishes, glasses, etc... The dining area was insufficient for 4. Summer bedding was not appropriate for February.

I always have an amazing time when I come down,it's so peaceful and relaxing .. so beautiful to come out there and be in nature and it's lovely. I definitely would do it again.. only a couple things I would update all the TVs to Smart TVs.. The TVs are kind of out of date.. and newer refrigerators for the little mini kitchen, the one that we had in Cabin 35 was broken ,,the TV upstairs went out

It was for only one night, but it was so much fun meeting up with good friends. It is convenient to Ashland for dinner and a few brewery's. We will stay here again in the future.

The cabins were adorable and perfect for our stay. My son stayed in his camper and since we had the cabin to stay in we all enjoyed Thanksgiving together.

Originally had an RV site, but had to change to a Cabin due to RV repairs. The front office staff took care of us right away and we had a cabin for our stay. Thank you!

Everything was great. Glad the cabin we were assigned was on the end by the woods. So much better than the rows of cabins. Only thing that would have been nice was having a card table in the cabin since it was so cold out to play games or do a puzzle around as a family.

Great cabins. Only issues was no paper towels or dish detergent like other KOA I’ve visited. Asian lady bugs in the room. And TV issues too include one remote needs batteries.

The only change I would make is to maybe add a “flatware and silverware” package. The KOA in Virginia Beach comes furnished with all the dishes, cups and utensils needed for when you eat. I would love to see that at the doswell facility as well. I try to not use a lot of disposable things during camping to prevent the strain on the environment.

This is the second year, we’ve chosen to stay for my birthday and I enjoyed being close to nature; the peacefulness and convenience of the cabins, the friendliness of the staff members. The location is perfectly suited for so many activities, beautiful hiking paths, Kings dominion, just shopping everything within 30 mins. Made it a great getaway. Thank you KOA.

EVERYONE at the camp store/ office deserves praise! I was treated extremely well! They were ALL so friendly. Even the shuttle drivers were kind! I loved the stories they shared. ALSO, I was very pleased to learn that I could get my Kings Dominion tickets from the camp store/office cheapest! That saved me time looking around!

This accommodation was better than the hotels across the street from Kings Dominion.. However, the front door had gap between the frame in door. Which allowed unwanted bugs in and the outside porch light didnt work. Front office closed at 9pm unable to get assistance. Also, I didnt like the 4pm check in and a 11am check out could be more customer friendly.

The cabin next to us smoke marijuana all day and night and played loud music until after midnight. It was annoying. The cabin was dated and however clean clean but worn. For the price we paid I expected much better. The staff was very friendly everyone we met was kind. If the people beside us were not so disrespectful it would have been a higher

All was great it’s always a nice stay, the only request I have is when a person asks for additional blankets during the registration process and or at the check in desk and they say they will bring them. They should actually bring them. The front door has a big gap or crack in it so cold air comes into the cabin.

Loved it. Was there for a trip to kings dominion. The cabinet was super cute. It was me, My wife and 4 kids. The older girls got the loft rooms, me and my son hit the futon and my wife and the grand baby took the main bedroom. A/C was super cold. Temp got into the high 90s and we were comfortable..the fire pit was great. We roasted marshmallows and made smokes. Great experience and will do it again

The cabin was very big and spacious and fun. There was a cockroach and so I killed it in the middle of the night and then the next day sprayed the entire cabin with natural bug spray. I also had to clean the floors because they were sticky and gooey and so I swept and mopped with a towel there's a picture of the towel there and how filthy it was. The air conditioner was falling apart and the stairs were dilapidated and needed new carpeting. The air conditioner worked and the bed for the main bedroom was squeaky. The TVs were not smart TVs and just had cable but thankfully I brought my Roku which I was able to connect to the HDMI on the side and watch what I wanted. There was no proper kitchen sitting area but there was a desk with two chairs so that was nice. The kids started at The Loft was fun. My daughter had bugs crawling on her at night. There were wasps outside. The staff was nice and gave us some more towels, but didn't bother to clean the floor even though you could see easily that it was filthy when we arrived. The shower head was very low so for someone 6 ft tall it hit my chest. It was nice that they had two bathrooms but it was very cramped quarters if you wanted to do anything inside of the bathrooms. Not enough room for toiletries up on a little sink. It was very much like staying in a motorhome. There was no stove top or oven. It was also no freezer in the refrigerator. The fridge didn't work nice and there was enough room to make little things like a sandwich or some toasted waffles etc. Little coffee maker worked. There were no cups or spoons or plates or any other utensils or anything that you might need provided. The little Rec Center up by the front was nice and had several games in a pool and a television and chessboard etcetera to play with. The shuttle was continuous and easy to use. No I did mention the downsides I still get of a four because overall it was fun, generally clean, and spacious for a family of four. There were five beds total and it was about 5 minutes away from Kings dominion. It wasn't very convenient for other grocery stores other than a convenience store that was nearby which was way overpriced. It was over 20 minutes round trip to get to a Walmart or Target or publix.

Great accommodations. All bathrooms of the Men's and Unisex gender, were extremely clean. Cleaner than I ever anticipated. Water is hot. They have really high water pressure here, have a regulator handy. I really wish they'd have after hours vending machines of useful things to purchase. Their shop closes at 9pm and Doswell has nothing to offer. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for after hours check-in. We will definitely be back, thank you all for the great experience!!!!
