It was our 1st time staying at the KOA Doswell. Our little group had a wonderful time. We even had the chance to make "Smores" over the firepit. We look forward to coming back next year.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had storms during our stay and lost power one evening. It was unclear what was going on and the office closed (understandable) and it would have been helpful if there was some type of communication to advise us what was going on.

We had a wonderful time at the KD KOA. The Pull Through camp site was perfect for us and had plenty of room for our family and pets to enjoy!

Site spacing is too close for a lot of people. Sharing of power pedestals between sites creates some unusable and/or awkward hook ups.

The property is large, well kept and has amenities. Right off I-95, it is easy to get to. My only disappointment is that the office and store closed at 5:00, unusually early in our experience. We arrived shortly after that, but the pool was closed and there was no equipment available for things like the outdoor ping pong table and corn hole. So, no fun on a warm summer evening.

We were a group of 38 ranging in age from 2 yr to 77 y/0 traveling from NH, Texas, California, Florida and Kanas for our niece’s wedding. We had a blast being together, we rented 7 cabins and 1 RV site. We enjoyed the pool, which it could have been open for longer hours. The cabins were clean, staying in the loft was challenging for some but we just joke about it. The staff was friendly

I only stayed one night and spent most of the day at Kings Dominion so I can’t say much about the campground. I seemed to get the worst tent site. The entire site was dirt, rocks, and tree roots. It was hard to find spots where I could hammer in the stakes and bent a couple of them.

I had only planned to stay the night and rest on a cross country trek but saw the amusement park and stayed 2 nights. Tons of shade and trees made it really nice. Discounted ticket at KOA for Kings Dominion and the shuttle were big pluses.

Very convenient and accommodating. Only stayed one night in the cabin. We needed a rest and it worked out perfect. The ladies at the store desk were very knowledgeable about the area and very polite and professional.

Always a wonderful campground to stay at. Clean. Has a pool and shuttle to Kings Dominion. Great place to stay. We have been here several times and will be back again.

We had a family reunion of sorts while attending a family wedding!! The cabins are great, spacious and clean and the staff replaces towels, etc as needed. Trash is picked up every 2 hrs, 24/7! Staff is friendly and helpful! Better than we could have dreamed!

WE have been coming here for about five or six years now. The campground is always very nice, friendly and clean. The atmosphere is very open and inviting, the guests are nice. The amenities' are first rate, the site is wonderful and all of the interactions with the staff are pleasant. Will return again!

We actually stay at the campground because its 30 minutes from the Richmond nascar track. Beautiful campground. Nice walking, pool and friendly.

This campground was well maintained and clean. The pool was nice. Our site, 161, was a little different in that the water and electric was on the hangout side and the sewer was on the business side of the RV. The location was great for visiting Kings Dominion Amusement Park. We also took advantage of the shuttle, which we appreciated very much. Nice facility.

Corner campsite was spacious and clean. For such a large campground, it was very quiet. Our son's family was in a cabin, which was lovely!!

Overall it was okay, but our second night there our tent was infested with red ants. We understand being in nature, but it was still unfortunate. We ended up having to find a hotel close by because the campground had no options for us to resolve the issue. So we basically paid for 2 nights, with only being able to actually stay for 1. Maybe do some minor pest control before a scheduled stay?

Everything was great. The only suggestion would be to ensure the shuttle bus pickups from Kings Dominion are on time especially on heat advisory days.

The staff was very helpful and very kind. The site was clean and just large enough to fit our motorhome and truck. Easy on and off the highway. Very close to Kings Dominion. I would have given 5 stars but we needed to get an extension for our electric hookup to be able to have power at our site because of the design. We were only there one night but it worked out great for what we needed.

Really wish the pool had been open a bit later. We went to Kings Dominion it closed at 8 came back and couldn’t swim.

As usual in a KOA, the staff were super -- friendly, easy to work with, and highly capable. Had no trouble checking in. Our pull-through site, #170, was in fantastic shape -- in good repair, neat, clean, and (bonus) -- very nearly perfectly level. The kids has a blast, and I particularly appreciated the shuttle to and from King's Dominion.

It was a good campground but there was no hot water in the bath house. With 16 shower stalls I’d expect hot water when it was empty.

Nice stay, but the cabin could have been a bit cleaner. There was a considerable amount of ants in one of the loft beds, and some other large crawlers during the 2 nights. Otherwise, things were great.

Very enjoyable from the ladies in the store to the beautiful pool. The shuttle to the theme park next-door was perfect. We would definitely recommend.

After a long day at kings Dominion , couldn't wait to get to the cabin and jump in the shower ! When we arrived I was preparing showers for my children first and seen a ton of hair in the shower !!! Both showers like they were not even cleaned !!! Looked like long hairs and genital hair !!! Needless to say it totally grossed me out !!!!! Apparently they did not even clean the showers !!!!

Loved it. Was there for a trip to kings dominion. The cabinet was super cute. It was me, My wife and 4 kids. The older girls got the loft rooms, me and my son hit the futon and my wife and the grand baby took the main bedroom. A/C was super cold. Temp got into the high 90s and we were comfortable..the fire pit was great. We roasted marshmallows and made smokes. Great experience and will do it again

The cabin was very big and spacious and fun. There was a cockroach and so I killed it in the middle of the night and then the next day sprayed the entire cabin with natural bug spray. I also had to clean the floors because they were sticky and gooey and so I swept and mopped with a towel there's a picture of the towel there and how filthy it was. The air conditioner was falling apart and the stairs were dilapidated and needed new carpeting. The air conditioner worked and the bed for the main bedroom was squeaky. The TVs were not smart TVs and just had cable but thankfully I brought my Roku which I was able to connect to the HDMI on the side and watch what I wanted. There was no proper kitchen sitting area but there was a desk with two chairs so that was nice. The kids started at The Loft was fun. My daughter had bugs crawling on her at night. There were wasps outside. The staff was nice and gave us some more towels, but didn't bother to clean the floor even though you could see easily that it was filthy when we arrived. The shower head was very low so for someone 6 ft tall it hit my chest. It was nice that they had two bathrooms but it was very cramped quarters if you wanted to do anything inside of the bathrooms. Not enough room for toiletries up on a little sink. It was very much like staying in a motorhome. There was no stove top or oven. It was also no freezer in the refrigerator. The fridge didn't work nice and there was enough room to make little things like a sandwich or some toasted waffles etc. Little coffee maker worked. There were no cups or spoons or plates or any other utensils or anything that you might need provided. The little Rec Center up by the front was nice and had several games in a pool and a television and chessboard etcetera to play with. The shuttle was continuous and easy to use. No I did mention the downsides I still get of a four because overall it was fun, generally clean, and spacious for a family of four. There were five beds total and it was about 5 minutes away from Kings dominion. It wasn't very convenient for other grocery stores other than a convenience store that was nearby which was way overpriced. It was over 20 minutes round trip to get to a Walmart or Target or publix.

Great accommodations. All bathrooms of the Men's and Unisex gender, were extremely clean. Cleaner than I ever anticipated. Water is hot. They have really high water pressure here, have a regulator handy. I really wish they'd have after hours vending machines of useful things to purchase. Their shop closes at 9pm and Doswell has nothing to offer. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for after hours check-in. We will definitely be back, thank you all for the great experience!!!!
