It was our first trip with our new camper. We have 4 children(19,15,13&11) that can be hard to impress ages like that sometimes.....but KOA Port Lavaca definitely came through!!! There was so many different things to do to keep you busy with tons of fun. We are already getting ready to book for next year!!

Other than the fact that when we arrived at 1:30 pm no one was in the office to let us in, and losing power on 2 separate occasions (which I know isn't any of thier fault) it was a very nice park. Beautiful sunsets too!!

Our stay was amazing, we had such a good time on our vacation. We stayed in a cabin and it was very roomy & cozy. I wish the cabin had curtains because in the morning the sun shined right into the bedroom. That was the only downfall since it woke us up very early!!

Incredible campgrounds to relax and enjoy bay breezes and more! Staff members Missy and Homer are all stars!!! The security and communication through text messaging of events and weather warnings is level 20 in service. We will be returning soon! Keep up the great work with your smiles�

The park was very clean and there were enough activities to keep everyone busy. Especially liked the ability to order a pizza and wing onsite at the campground. Unfortunately, the weather was very hot, which is out of the park's control.

We selected to drive two days to have a family vacation site. The pool was not as big as they say and the chemicals burned my grandchildrens skin. The cabin I thought we had was for 6 but they gave us one for 5 which was not enough for the 10,12 and 13 year olds... they would not make any changes and gave a 6 person cabin to a couple with no kids. There were no kid activites setup as stated.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The saltwater pool is monitored and tested frequently during the day. As for cabin, you chose a 5 person cabin (as stated on your confirmation email) The guests in the larger/loft cabin paid $$ for that cabin. We do not 'give' the guests cabin assignments. Couldn't "give" you another guests cabin.

We absolutely love it. We stay every year but this is the first time in a cabin and will forever rent a cabin from now on. Maybe need new mattresses. They are pretty worn and we went and bought an egg crate to go over but it was great over all. We will be back for sure! Thank you!!

Beautiful campground. I don’t recommend the yurt during the summer. It got way too hot. However the campground offered lots to do and the staff was friendly and helpful. Already booked a stay in the cabins for October!

Understaffed. Premium sites were very close together and small. Beautiful view of the bay. Nice park overall except for the gravel drive. Like the security gate. Everything is communicated via text which is ok. Except for when you need to actually speak with someone. Good luck. You will most likely have to go to the office and or the community building. Don't like having to hunt the manager.

Yes, someone is available in the office 9a-7p 7 days (typically later on the weekends) a week if you need anything. Texting is also a great option to communicate camp activities, keep guests informed, and reach office if don't want to walk or call. Thank you for choosing Port Lavaca KOA!!

The campground was way too dark at night. There need to be lighting for safety and walking your pets.

Sorry to hear you had trouble navigating at night. Keeping it dark was done by design. Typically guests will use a flashlight/phone light as the majority of guests prefer it dark. Makes for better sleeping and star gazing. Thank you for choosing Port Lavaca KOA

It's always peaceful & stress free. The camp grounds are always kept up and clean. The fishing is always good. You'll catch something. The staff is always courteous and willing to help out and I can say knowledgeable about RV's & equipment. I really enjoy going to the Port Lavaca/ Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday. Thank you All.

This stay there seemed to be less staff and the pool was not cleaned a single time we were there. The pool was cold, very murky and had a gross film on the top floating. Disappointed to say the least. I wish they would have done better because the pool quality was horrible!!! Im hoping if we give it another chance it's better, but this stay was not our favorite

We appreciate your feedback. We ask all swimmers to shower before entering the water, otherwise suntan lotion could be visible on the surface. Our saltwater pool is kept at 85F, it is skimmed/cleaned/vacuumed and treated at least once per day, in addition to 24/7 online sanitizer. see you soon

It was very nice ...The cabin had a bad spot in the floor as you walk in....Very spongy ...Besides that Had a great time Would go back again

Very kind staff. We enjoyed our stay. Any concerns were taken care off. Even ask for extra bedding and within 10 minutes it was at the door of our cabin. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The campground was extremely clean, well maintained and the staff was extremely friendly! My only complaints are 1) the size of the pool is small compared to the number of sites and 2) that is compounded exponentially with the day visitor policy. When you have a registered guest that invites 30 family members to hang out, it crowds an already congested space.

Thank you for your feedback. We do have a limit on the total number of campers/visitors per site (usually 4-8 including guests). Large groups do book multiple sites, and they may all meet at one location, but rules must be followed. We also have group areas like the club house and the pavilion

First off, I love this place. I love the quaintness and views of the matagorda bay. The cabin I stayed in was super cute and the staff very friendly. The only complaint I have is the mattress was very uncomfortable. I don’t know if all the cabins have the same mattresses but it almost felt like an air mattress. I would have given it 10 stars if not for the fact that my husband and I did not slee

Great people here, running a great KOA. Lots of amenities, nice sites, and quiet! Funny, Google thinks this is a hotel, hence the zero stars for “Rooms”. Pickleball courts are a nice touch - although they needed a bit of cleaning.

Decent spot for a stop over we were only here for the night, but bathrooms are clean and fresh and laundry. Lots of things to do. The pizza and the wings were super easy and affordable. Definitely not top-notch gourmet cuisine but very good to not have to cook. We were in the very first site as you come in and they were a lot of ant nests so we had to watch the dog pretty carefully.

What a wonderfully quiet bayfront KoA. Property is well maintained and has a ton of amenities. We were there shouting a weekday so was very quiet and restful. Staff is helpful and very kind. Showers are clean and plenty of hot water. If we lived anywhere nearby we'd make this a repeat destination.
