Meet Outer Banks West KOA

A brand new waterfront KOA is coming to North Carolina in 2020! Outer Banks West KOA is an outdoor enthusiast's playground located on the Currituck Sound in Currituck County, North Carolina.

There's an endless list of things to love about this secluded retreat, but here are a few key things to know about this exciting new option for camping in coastal North Carolina.

Location, Location, Location

You get the best of both worlds at Outer Banks West. You can immerse yourself in nature at this wooded, waterfront paradise, but you're just minutes from dining, entertainment and shops in Coinjock and Grandy. If you want a little more hustle and bustle take a 45-minute drive to Kitty Hawk for beautiful beaches, an array of restaurants and lots of family fun.

Amazing Amenities

In addition to a tranquil waterfront setting, Outer Banks West has amenities that will keep your whole crew entertained. Enjoy the Currituck Sound on a SUP board or kayak, cast a line from one of the fishing piers or bring your boat with you and cruise around the sound.

There's plenty to do on land too. Bounce around on the jump pad, make s' mores at the community fire pit, play a game on the sand volleyball court, grab a bite at the snack bar or play with your pup in the dog park. There are so many fun possibilities!

So Many Ways to Stay

At Outer Banks West KOA you can rough it on a primitive tent site or enjoy all of your creature comforts in a cabin. No matter what type of camper you are, there's a site for you. RVers have so many options with waterfront and inland sites, back-in and pull-through sites, deluxe patio sites and seasonals. Tent campers can unplug and enjoy the beautiful setting on primitive tent sites and glampers can choose from cabins, waterfront RV rentals and inland RV rentals.

Explore the Outdoors

If you love the outdoors then Outer Banks West is the place for you. Birders can migrate waterfowl and other birds without ever leaving the campground and anglers need only walk to one of five fishing piers to get a bite.

The region beyond this peaceful lodge holds even more opportunities for outdoor fun. North River Game Land is a short drive away for hunting and birding. Take a day trip to Corolla to see the wild ponies or climb the Currituck Beach Lighthouse or head to Kitty Hawk for water sports, fishing, surfing and so much more.
