First time visiting the San Juan Mountains and this KOA is a great base camp for doing just that. Close to Ouray and Ridgeway, with Montrose and Telluride easily accessible for a day's visit. A little tight maneuvering in our 45' motorhome - rocks, fences, other large rigs, etc but nothing that patience and another pair of eyes can't handle. Sites large enough for RV and towed vehicle. Great wifi!

Needed a weekend getaway with the family and the KOA did not disappoint. Great people and very clean and beautiful campgrounds.

Staff is excellent! Campground is great. Unfortunately for us our neighbors on both sides didn’t have a lick of courtesy or respect and ruined the final days of our stay. I will strongly point out the staff did give us the option to move but we declined since damage was already done from neighbors and wasn’t worth packing and setting up again. We will return and hopefully find a better spot.

Great stay, clean rest rooms! Tha last night there was a motor home in space 88 that had his music blasting until almost 9 pm. An after hours phone to report these incidents should be made available.

We booked 2 nights, an RV spot & a tent spot the day before arriving. The desk attendant was very courteous & worked it out for our group to be close together. We even extended our stay & got to keep our spots the extra night. The best KOA campground we have ever stayed in.

We had a wonderful time at this KOA. I must say that this was by far our BEST experience camping anywhere. I think what made it special was the communication from the campground management. Leading up to our stay, the management communicated the circumstances involving a wildfire that had begun within close proximity to the campground. They were incredibly welcoming to us. Great stay! Quiet and peaceful, office staff was great. Had a little problem with someone charging purchases at the office to my site number, but they got it straightened out. We will be back!

Not great. The place seems run down and when paying $110 per night you expect more. Construction across the from our site. Construction materials everywhere. Cafe with little to now food, burnt scones and dry muffins. It was pretty pathetic. Next time, we'll skip it and keep driving.

We got there a few days after they reopened from the Gold Mt Fire. It was pretty empty, but the staff was fantastic. We ended up adding an extra day, and they helped make sure that was possible. Location to town is great, and all the things to do in the San Juans.

We reserved a two night stay and ended up extending for another night. The campground is maintained exceptionally well and the restrooms/shower facilities are very clean. Ouray KOA has one of the best facilities for washing dishes I have seen in any campground. 5 stars! We will definitely come back on future trips to the area.

This was our 2nd stay here and we love it! The staff are wonderful! We have only had one rude guest experience, these ppl started their diesel RV at 5 AM and let it run for 45 min before they finally pulled out. Who does that? They are called quiet hour for a reason! Not KOA's fault at all, simply rude ppl. We will be back. Dispite the fire close by the air quality was most good!

Loved it here! Can’t wait to come back. We were here when the gold mountain fire started and the staff here made sure to keep us updated and safe and took extra precautions to ensure we were okay. They went above and beyond what other campgrounds would do. Can’t say enough good things about this place and the staff

We stayed at a KOA in Ouray County and it was excellent. Even tho there was a fire in the area in the mountains, the people at the KOA were very sweet and kind. Peaceful and wonderful. If we needed anything, there was always someway to get a hold of the campground. Thank you!

We were so impressed with this KOA. It was only our second KOA stay and the bar is high! The staff were incredibly friendly and on top of things when we entered pre-evacuation status due to the nearby Gold Mountain fire. Neighbor humans and dogs were lovely and well behaved :) We'd come back any time!

Good location - really disappointed in the site. Who thought it was a good idea to have one central post for two campsites. If you are traveling with friends this might be a good idea - but this was not the case with us. Our "neighbors" did not comply with the typical etiquette that most campers run with. Too bad - and sorry to write a bad review - but it was ridiculous. UGH !

Location is outstanding halfway between Ridgeway and Ouray. Just an hour from Telluride, the staff they were outstanding, engaging and helpful. Communication was top-notch throughout our stay, we were there during the first days of the fire. Can’t see enough good things.

year three in this this campground and still my favorite place. wifi was excellent this year. staff always friendly. my only complaint (which is usually the wifi), is that we were there the day the fire started. about 1:20am there was a staff member knocking on campers tell people to prepare for pre-evacuation. he personally told me the fire had jumped 550.when it had not. we packed up and left.

Other than being evacuated from the koa the stay was Pleasent. Staff was Pleasent and attentive to our needs.

Was a large campground with bark chip walkway next to stream. sites pretty close together but well maintained. beware of dog walk- must stay on pathway or get attacked by cactus ! staff super nice. wish i would've found little cafe sooner. but muffins & cookies were delish!!!!

Nice campground. Almost 5 stars but for couple things. The good: Great staff, one of best stocked stores encountered, clean restrooms and showers, wooded, and nice fire-pit. The not quite as good: Nice laundry room but 2 of 5 dryers out of order. (All washers working so had to wait on getting a dryer). It has a restaurant. In evening had a pizza and fried ravioli which hit the spot. For breakfast didn't quite hit the mark. Our friends had pancakes and sausage patties and the patties were underdone. I had a breakfast skillet which was good , but bacon was small shreds had to hunt for. Husband's hiker's breakfast (fruit and eggs) was great. All in all glad to have stayed there.
