We were so impressed with this KOA. It was only our second KOA stay and the bar is high! The staff were incredibly friendly and on top of things when we entered pre-evacuation status due to the nearby Gold Mountain fire. Neighbor humans and dogs were lovely and well behaved :) We'd come back any time!

Good location - really disappointed in the site. Who thought it was a good idea to have one central post for two campsites. If you are traveling with friends this might be a good idea - but this was not the case with us. Our "neighbors" did not comply with the typical etiquette that most campers run with. Too bad - and sorry to write a bad review - but it was ridiculous. UGH !

Location is outstanding halfway between Ridgeway and Ouray. Just an hour from Telluride, the staff they were outstanding, engaging and helpful. Communication was top-notch throughout our stay, we were there during the first days of the fire. Can’t see enough good things.

year three in this this campground and still my favorite place. wifi was excellent this year. staff always friendly. my only complaint (which is usually the wifi), is that we were there the day the fire started. about 1:20am there was a staff member knocking on campers tell people to prepare for pre-evacuation. he personally told me the fire had jumped 550.when it had not. we packed up and left.

Other than being evacuated from the koa the stay was Pleasent. Staff was Pleasent and attentive to our needs.

The Ouray wildfire happened during our stay. The communication was excellent on what the steps were if we need to evacuate. They also gave the option for refund if we wanted to leave early. They went around at midnight making sure everyone was getting the notifications when we were in pre evacuation stage so we could be ready to leave at a moments notice.

Other than leaving at 1am because of a forest fire the stay was excellent. Quiet campground, kid loved the play ground and lots of room to ride his bike

Stay was great until 1am when we were wakened and told necessary to evacuate because of wildfire, no fault of koa of course. Staff very helpful.

This is one of the best campgrounds we’ve had an opportunity to stay at, beautiful location in the valley between the towns of Ridgeway and Ouray, Colorado. Excellent staff and actually very good during times of trouble. We were there during the fire this year and they were very good about keeping us updated. Blessings to all those impacted by this terrible event.

The facilities were very clean. Had made group reservations & as leader of 15 there was no acknowledgement or thanks for bringing the group in. There was large issue with campsites we had reserved. Yes, it was beyond their control. The attitude was you are lucky we found everyone a spot & we lost business over 4th. Feel sorry for us. Excuse me. Guess I recall why I rarely go to a KOA. Thanks not.

Friendly staff. I will never understand why folks choose to pollute the pristine mountain air with campfire smoke. Is revenue from firewood sales that important?

We appreciated the professional employees when we chose to evacuate due to the Gold Lake fire. The time spent there was very nice - from the front desk, escort to our site and evacuation with a refund. We are very sorry for the staff now and pray that everyone remains safe.

Ouray was the worst KOA I have ever stayed at. We came as a large RV group and found the sites we had requested as a group several were not available due to construction. No notification that the sites weren't available. Sites they moved us to were not full hookups, as requested. The sites where hard to get 5th wheel campers into. The staff was no help. The bathrooms only worked part time. Worst!!

The staff were awesome and deserve raises. The facilities were clean and well managed. The rv sites were easy enough to get into. Lots of kids playing on the playgrounds (will remember that when ours is old enough) and great dog trail with a nice view at the top. Didn't get to enjoy the café during our stay but it was nice that the option existed. The store was well-stocked.

The campground had alot of construction happening while we were there. The sites were all stuffed too close together. Not sure koa has much to offer over any other campground. They ask too much money for offering not much for amenities. Dospleased.

This park has the potential to easily be a 5 star resort. The staff are fantastic They scrambled to find spots for our group when there was a large electrical failure. The office and store are very attractive outside and in. The bathrooms are clean but in need of updating. There is a large wooden patio for groups but it has no cover and is in the brutal Colorado sun. 5 star price with 4 star park

Beautiful camp ground in the mountains with trees. Very clean big sites. Dog friendly!! Excellent staff and customer service!! Great location close to town, hiking, ATV, swimming and fishing.

Beautiful site (4) and helpful staff! I couldn’t walk all the way to another site and they gave me a ride. Something broke on the trailer and they had a repairman. Great time.

It was good. Wish the store was open longer and the bathrooms cleaned more than once a day especially on the weekends when it is busy

There were problems with the wiFi, electrical system, and the dump station. The rail road ties bordering the space were too tight and made it difficult to line up the rig. Space numbers were not clearly identified and we ended up in the wrong one and had to re-set up.

This KOA was amazing and super clean with many amenities. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us during our stay. We were originally slotted for just 1 night. Surprisingly, Kelly was able to figure out a way for me and my family to stay 2 more nights even though it was father's day weekend. Chris and other staff members were just as helpful by delivering firewood and ice to our camp.

One thing I did not like are the campfires. With sites close together and if your neighbors are burning wood, the smoke smell is terrible if you’re down wind. I had to close all of my windows on two occasions because of smoke. I would ban all wood fires and go propane. The cafe food was very good but I only had one chance to try it. I will be back. I think your facility had some very nice sites. We called on short notice as Ed were traveling and not sure where we would be. We were given site 21, it wasn’t too bad, shady in the afternoon which was nice. I thought the $107 per nite was a little high being located right next to the maintenance shop. Other than that I was very happy with your location and friendly staff.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming when we first arrived so we decided to stay a few extra days and enjoy the area. The store carries a wide variety of camping gear and food, plus across the walkway is the Hummingbird restaurant with a good variety of breakfast items. I would definitely stay there again.

We were impressed by this KOA - the staff was so friendly and accomodating! They will deliver Amazon packages to your site and pick up your garbage in the mornings. The dog trails were a nice local short hike option. Our site backed up to the irrigation ditch and the sound of the running water was delightful. Bring your mosquito spray and thermacells! Armed with both we were still able to enjoy relaxing outside. The location is great - 8 minute drive to either Ridgway or Ouray. We were present when pre-evacuation status hit for the Gold Mountain Fire nearby - the staff knocked on doors in the middle of the night to inform everyone of the situation and make sure we knew how to follow updates. We recently received a refund for the two nights we had to cut the trip short and we weren't even planning to ask for one. Overall just a lovely experience and looking forward to staying again in the future.
