This past weekend was our first trip to KOA and it was amazing. The staff were all polite and extremely helpful. The beach is super clean, the campsites we’re clean. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I feel like they pack campers to close together. Also, not necessarily your fault, but a 15 year old boy drowned when we were there. So not a great stay. Most the staff was friendly but young. The first day on the slide the girls in charge were doing a good job. The second day the boys in charge were not paying attention. I had another camper come down and run into me on slide before off.

I splurged on a cabin for my 2 boys and I. Not only did our expensive cabin not have a parking spot there was a tragic accident that happened that weekend which left us unable to swim the rest of our stay;( we also were without water, toilet and shower for 10 hours. Once I called to ask about it no one seemed to know what I was talking about but said they would get on it asap and did fix it.

My wife and I have been camping all our lives. This was our first stay at a KOA campground. Within the first hour of being there we got a screw in our tire. Friday night we contended with very loud, drunk and stoned campers next to us until about 3am. Saturday we were at the lake when a boy tragically lost his life. We went home early with heavy hearts. It was very traumatic for our whole family.

The park is just a little run down but everything worked as expected; kids were having a great time in the swimming area, playground, and water slide. Although we were just passing through for the night, this is a great spot for a local family vacation.

Had a great stay, nice cabin, great accomodations. Unfortunately I was there and saw the whole accident happen and feel that the pond needs to be filled with something to eliminate the deep parts. Had a scary moment with my child with a spot that drops off fast and it was on the outside of the rope where it's supposed to be shallow. If that ever gets fixed I will bum up to a 5 star review.

I rented a cabin for my son’s 3 year birthday Fri-Sun and was so excited to let him have the time of his life. As much as I loved this place Friday, July 22nd, the atmosphere dramatically changed and traumatized everyone at 5:30 on Saturday. Nothing was the campground’s fault and if the poor teenager hadn’t drowned I would have given them 5 stars. I can never come back due to this.

A boy drowned when we were there. We left directly after this happened. It was at least a half hour after the boy went missing that the pond was combed.

The staff seemed like zombies and were unmotivated to help. I think they either need a pep talk or a new job, not sure why I got that reaction, but I didn’t appreciate it.

There was a drowning the day we were at this campground. The search for the boy was not urgent by the KOA employees. I will NEVER stay here again. Stay out of the dangerous pond full of weeds!!! Maintain the pond KOA!!!!!

Not enough characters available to provide adequate feedback. PROS: Swimming pond/water slide/activities CONS: Fishing pond needs cleaned up it's too overgrown, need better/updated rentals (paddle boats/bikes). The putt-putt course is very dated & needs updated, bathrooms need cleaned more and updated. Store needs updated. Overall a good stay, but certain things are very dated.

Had a relaxing time with family. The bathrooms needed TLC, rental bikes broke twice, and mini golf course needs updated but the cabin was clean and AC was working. We enjoyed the swimming pond and free pancakes.

Loud vulgar music coming from the site next to us until late hours of the night, campers next to us parked so close to ours so we didn't have much room on our site. A child drowned in swimming pond. Not a great experience as I used to have years ago

We loved our stay at KOA! The lake is clean and beautiful to swim in! The staff was consistently friendly. The free pancakes in the morning were an added bonus! There were a lot of very young children unsupervised at the playground/lake that was concerning. Overall a great experience and we look forward to returning!

We have only been there twice not, but the employees are always friendly and helpful, this weekend there was a tragedy and the employees handled it with the utmost care and respect! All employees went to help and did everything they could! They are absolutely great bunch of people who truly care about the campers! maybe floating islands and lifeguards can be added to ensure safety in the future

Could use more fish in the pond. We didn't like being so close to the expressway. The lot was very sandy, wish it had better grass. Neighbors music was too loud. We were there when the child died in the swim pond. That was very tragic. I work in mental health. I hope that the KOA offers some kind of counseling and critical incident stress management to the staff and they support each other

This has been my place to stay since I was small, and it's a tradition to bring my children and now my grandchildren, but it seems every year I come, I've literally watched the police and dive team pull out an adult & child lifeless. I believe there should be a better policy in place when you actually feel there is someone that has drowned, a heads up to parents to remove themselves or children.

I will try to rate our weekend without factoring in the tragedy that occurred. Check in: fast and friendly. The campground was clean including the bathrooms. I actually had to comment to the nice lady who cleans them what a great job staff was doing. Two young staff members (brothers?) helped us blow up 3 air beds because we forgot our pumps. Ate at snack shack-yummy and decent prices. Will return

Will never stay here again! 1) Too Loud 2) No enforcement of ANY rules (Marijuana, Quiet Hours, Children swimming alone... 3) Visitors charged $10 per person - no info about charge. 4) sites are crammed together - camper behind us was 2 ft. from the back of our camper. 5) trash everywhere 6) bathrooms were atrocious and lots of teen workers doing nothing. 7) Activities were not advertised...

It’s a beautiful park, but after the boy came up missing and finding out he drowned, it put a big damper on the weekend. With the swimming pond shut down, that was our main reason why we stayed to swim. It’s a very unfortunate situation, wish I could get a credit to stay again….

This was one of 4 KOAs we stayed at on this road trip and it was by far the worst. The bathrooms were gross and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in days. The campground was loud at all hours of the night. The office staff was unpleasant. Most of the amenities were run down. The sites were packed together and the picnic table was old and falling apart. We would definitely not return here.

I requested and paid for a pull-thru site. There was a class A blocking my exit and a large rock blocking my exit to the right. I had to back up to obtain freedom. I feel I should be reimbursed for the pull-thru site. The class A blocking my exit was a experienced truck driver and agreed I could not get out any other way.

There are tons of amenities and entertainment for the family. The facilities are very clean and the staff was friendly. This is our second time camping at KOA Monroe this year and we are planning a third trip. Well done!

Love that they created a lot more of the pull through full hookup sites. Long overdue!! Slightly dissapointed that there are no longer any activities at all during the week. I think they should try to have some of the activities, maybe not all, during the week too. We won't go out on the weekends as they are too crowded for our taste.

This was the second year coming to Monroe KOA. The staff is friendly. The park is clean. Fun for all ages. We liked the expanded snack shack. Would like to see another set of toilets for beach goers. Over all love the park.

Too crowded and LOUD. People fighting next to us, kids screeching at the top of their lungs. The activities were great though… nice camp but too close to the highway.

Always a clean campground. Two suggestions would be to fill the potholes in the roads, and secondly put a porta potty by the dog park as we humans have to go sometimes too.

Our electrical box was totally used by others. Had to change sites. The sites had many depressions where the fire pit had been moved and not filled in. Roads very poor

Lots of activities. My main issue is that the cabins are NOT HANDYCAP ACCESSABLE. My wife had to climb 5 stairs to get into the cabin, which is very difficult. The bathrooms were not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. I could squeeze in a wheelchair, but it was difficult to maneuver it in the stall.

Awesome time as always. Rented the big cabin that sleeps 8 was clean and very nice. The kids had a blast in the sleeping loft,swimm8ng and catching fish. See you again next year

This was the worst site I have ever stayed at. I know sites are small at KOA’s but this site was beyond small. The water, sewer, & electrical hookup for the site next to us was right in front of our steps of our camper. We could barely walk down our steps without hitting it. Who ever designed these sites do not know what they are doing.

I felt campsites were too close together. The mud on the roads was scary as I thought I would gall walking. Gravel would have been nice.

Staff was super nice. Spots were a tad tight. Lots of kids which was really great to see! If you like fishing there was a really nice catch/release pond

Had fun but my favorite part of the trip was the fishing. I caught so many 3-6 pound catfish. It was an awesome experience

I love this place. They always have activities going on and always something to do! Saturday glow dance party is our favorite thing to do!!
