Site was large and there was lots of room between us. My biggest issue is that we were far from the bathhouse and not well lit in the park at night. I had to use my cell phone flashlight to go take a shower. Most of the shower stalls and toilet stalls were closed which was weird. But there was hot water and that’s important. There was a nice pond for fishing so would like to come back for that.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

SORRY you had to walk too far, we had water shut off many sites with freezing nights still. Its a very quiet time of year and so we close half the bathhouse.

A high wind and rainstorm rolled through the campsite on Monday afternoon destroying and or damaging three canopies and solar panel on my camper trailer. I filed a claim with Allstate and they are diligently working to resolve the claim for damages that exceeded $450.00. This was my first experience with a natural disaster. However, I truly enjoyed the accommodations at KOA Journey Campground.

There was no one to welcome us when we arrived at 2 pm. We were placed in a too small spot in the very front of the park where all the roads met. Our cable and water line did not work. No one answered the phone on three attempts. Park seems to be full of permanent campers. The car noise and headlights at all hours did not lend a relaxing 3 nights. The entrance also has a sharp turn in.

We arrived after hours, set up was easy. Everything worked great. The bathroom and showers were extremely clean.

Great place to stay. One of the few campgrounds in western Pa open all year. Very convenient to I-70, gas stations, fast food, and Cracker Barrel. We make this an annual stop on our way to Florida.

Enjoyed our one night stay at Madison/Pittsburgh KOA to awake to a dusting of snow in November 2021. In addition to our heated hose it was comforting to know that the water source was insulated from the ground up in this year-round campground. Road construction project exiting and entering the highway will hopefully end soon.

I would give them a 5 but they were still short handed which meant limited store hours. Even with limited hours all that was needed for great service was to call the number provided and they were very responsive and eager to help out or resolve any issue. Will stay here next time we’re in the area

We like the convenience near I70. We were able to change the date of our stay without any problem. The person on the phone was very kind and helpful.

This is a campground I have used three different times this past year. I use it as my last stop before returning home. It is easy to get to off of inter state 70. The management is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this KOA to anyone who needs a place to camp in western Pa

Excellent accommodations. Staff was very nice and helpful with the registration process. Grounds and restroom were clean and convenient to access. Neighbors and fellow campers were extremely nice presenting a warm and welcome environment.

This was the worst KOA for us. We've stayed in several across the US. It was ugly, gray, treeless with lots of dirt and gravel in very close sites. Customers that appear to be residents fly around on noisy dirty carts.We asked about using the pool table the manager told us it was brand new and when delivered, 6 of the balls flew off the truck. New set is $30-$50. They have no plan to replace them.

We stay here often to visit family in the area. There are long pull through sites that are easy to get into, with conveniently placed utilities. This is one of the few campgrounds in Pennsylvania that is open year round, and it is easy to get access from I-70.

The campground is quiet, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff is great! Then are friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure the security and comfort of the guest.

It was a rainy weekend so we didn’t get to enjoy the campground. The store was nice. It would be good to give better directions on the website since there are known issues with gps directions.

We only had one rainy night so hard to say much. The difficult thing is getting to the site from I-76 eastbound using google maps on a dark rainy evening. Pretty setting.

We only stayed there one night. The woman who checked us in was very nice. We didn't have any other interactions with the employees.. My reasons for not rating it higher were these: In the men's restroom/shower house there was a strong odor that smelled like a pit toilet; and the sewer connection for our site was so high that I could not get a good slope for proper drainage from the trailer.

We stayed at this KOA campgrounds for 3 nights in order to tour Pittsburgh. The campsite was well planned out. It sits on a hill. It has a swimming pool, playground, lake and a jumpy thing. The journey into Pittsburg was very straight forward. The campground was well kept, except the road coming in which had a few pot holes. Everything was clean and taken care of.

Great RV camping experience. Was able to experience this Campground in early - mid-march when most campgrounds are closed. The campsites are well-maintained. Clean and large laundry area. Camp store stocked with the basics. Friendly and accommodating staff. Only negative was the pothole strewn driveway - needs some major upgrade.

Great find, some comments refer the site as being inclined but the inclines are not bad at all and very picturesque. Vey clean canpground!
