Campground Reviews

We took our grandsons and they had a great time. We loved the bonfire and the pool and bounce pad!

Best local campsite for us! Location, amenities and special events are fantastic! We love the Pittsburgh-Madison KOA! Special shout-out to Beth! She is absolutely AWESOME! The entire KOA group is great! Looking forward to our next stay. :D

This is one of our favorite local KOAs! We love the playground area and pool; we especially love the pond to do a little fishing. The campground is laid out nicely and has a great little store that always seems to have what we need. We try to stay here at least once every camping season.

The campsite I had was very small and didn't allow room for many chairs. As for the park it was clean and plenty for the kids to do. We would return!

Our families had an amazing Holiday weekend stay here. With our spots being close to the pond, pool and park, we could watch our children play & fish from the comfort of our front porch. The store was well stocked and affordable, the staff was friendly and caring & there are restaurants and stores nearby within 20 min or less! We had food delivered from Friday's in no time!

Short staffed, spaces are too close, very little parking in the cabin area. I’ve stayed at KOA’s all over the country and this one has got to be the worst in the chain. Will never return.

It was a nice stay. It was pretty quiet stay. Had fun with my Grandson fishing at the lake . Caught a few bluegills and crappie bass. One thing that we didn’t like there was a lot of geese poop all over the place . Overall it was a nice.

Not the first time we stayed there. Enjoyed it. Close to our family.

We were passing through with a one night stay. The pull through site was good, easy in and out. Level site in a hilly campground. We would stay here again.

Three interactions with office/cashier left us more frustrated each time. Not acknowledged or ignored when arriving and then when trying to purchase items in store. Campground is not well kept up and the long term rental sites are very unkempt even trashy looking. Would not recommend.

We’ve stayed here several times. Delighted to say the spots have been leveled out, nicely. The staff have always been polite. When we return we will stay an extra night to see the 9/11 memorial located nearby.

I arrived at 6pm and found the office closed and no reference to my reservation or directions to my site. Since I already had a reservation I drove up to the sites, picked one and set up. The pull through sites are awful. I don’t understand why KOA would buy a campground that is graded so poorly. Once I leveled the motorhome the door was close to 30” above the ground.

The boat rental was fun and affordable. The kids enjoyed catching fish. They also enjoyed the playground until a group of adults came to sit at the table while drinking, smoking, and dropping f-bombs. The camp store was not opened on Sunday, which was disappointing. There was supposed to be a pancake breakfast, but it was canceled without any notifications. We will choose another location next tim

Stayed at this KOA for a long weekend while attending a family gathering. While it seemed the campground is mainly an overnight stop over for many, the staff was friendly and the facility was well cared for. The staff was most accommodating to our needs.

Nice quiet park

The site was okay, but our stay was marred by 2 boys throwing a ball in and around our motorhome and other rvs. There was no supervision and I asked them to move elsewhere, which they finally did, but I dont appreciate having our rv used as a backstop.
May 13, 2023
Not a bad spot. Spaces are a little close. The park was still getting ready for the upcoming season, so things seemed a little unkept. Overall though, not bad.

Easy check in. Nice spot.

We had a significant issue with our RV the day of the evening we were to stay at the Madison/Pittsburgh SE KOA. When I called to let them know we would likely be there late in the evening, I spoke with Debbie, who was very understanding. She moved our site to be close to the entrance, so we could slip in quietly and get hooked up quickly. We were SO grateful! It's a lovely campground.

Worst KOA in recent history.. poor signage at roundabout, no one in office on a Sunday afternoon, pre registration paperwork a single map with name on bottom mixed in with blank maps, paved road into the campground has large deep potholes impossible to go around. NO gravel left on the interior roads or campsites and it’s a dirty muddy mess in the rain , lots of full timers, neglected and it show

Stayed there over the weekend in our motorhome for a baseball tournament in Trafford, PA. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The monthly expenses seemed overpriced for a long term stay at the park. Electricity is not included in rent either. The propane tanks are not weighed to be refiled it is just a flat fee. There are very little amenities and terrible wifi services provided.

No one to check us in ,did it ourselves. Just an overnight stay.

We stayed at the KOA for 4 nights. We ventured in to Pittsburgh to check out the town (about 45 mins away) Our site was fairly close to the pond and we had a nice view of it. It was pretty quiet most of the time. We did use the laundry room and it was well equipped and clean. The hook ups were ll fine, my only "complaint" was my sewer connection was somewhat uphill from my rig bit it all worked

It was nice, but hard to find someone minding the store. Closed a lot of the time.

Great campground. Clean and spacious spots.

This was perfect for our trip needs. Not to far from Pittsburgh, which we visited. The price was right, but this is not a in the woods camping experience but perfect for staying at instead of going to a hotel

Stayed at this KOA multiple times over the years but this year they are understaffed. I checked in late, even called to inform but the only map remaining was for an open site. Three of the 5 men's showers were shuttered. They have performed some road maintenance since my visit 2 years before and I noticed a new slide for the children.

Level sites the bathhouse was rustic looking but very clean would stay again if traveling through

Stayed here with my son because my parents were visiting and staying at the RV park. We were in the deluxe cabin. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the cabin was and for the price of a one night stay was not bad at all. Got to take my son to the park that they have on site and it was nicely kept and he had lots of fun. All in all was a great stay and I would come here again!!

There were several full-timers,which is okay really. We stayed 3 nights. Campers next to us had 2 big dogs that barked when out side and were in a small fence area. Our picnic table was old and worn. We didn't use it. Staff was good. Didn't like not having any tv at all. Over all it was an ok site.

We stayed here for two weeks. Unless you're driving a class B, you want to approach the campground from the south (from I-70): it's a hard left on a downhill curve if you come from the north. After passing the entrance sign, watch for oncoming traffic before taking the left fork in the road to pull up to the office. The campground is essentially a small valley. The office building, dumpsters, and propane refill station are on the west hill, the fishing lake occupies the bottom of the valley, and the rest of the campground is situated on the east hill. The long term sites are located in the northeast and southeast corners of the campground. The rest of the sites are arranged into 4 rows of pull-through sites and a half-row of pull-in sites (most of which were wide enough to get the towing vehicle out). The rows are divided by gravel roads, some of which are pretty narrow for two-way traffic. All of the sites have gravel pads with a mix of gravel and grass lawns, a picnic table, and fire ring. Many of the sites in the top third of the rows have one or two trees that provide some shade, while the lower sites have none. We stayed in site 68, which had two trees on the right side of the site that provided some early afternoon shade, and was fairly level. The office building contains a large laundry room with change machine, a small lounge area with a pool table where they stack delivered packages, and a camp store with some convenience store items and souvenirs. The bathhouse on the east hill contains both bathroom and shower stalls. Next to the bathhouse is a large pavilion with several picnic tables and a large grill. Walking down the hill past that pavilion brings you to the communal fire pit area, then the pool area, and the playground. There is also a new jump pad (installed during our stay) and basketball hoop in that same area. On the east side of the lake is a short dock, an equipment shed, and two boats available to rent (a metal canoe and a rowboat). There are two adjacent dog runs located at the base of the east hill next to the entrance road, with an airlock gate. They're not lit, but there is some light from the nearby street light. If the runs are both occupied, you can walk your dog around the lake or next to the grassy horseshoe pits adjacent to the runs. In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 96 Mbps down and 60 up. However, there was a stretch of several days where I couldn't get any internet service...except for YouTube TV service on my laptop (YouTube TV didn't work via the Roku on our TV during this time). It was very strange: it started right after a brief power outage early one evening, then returned to normal several mornings later after a late night power outage. The campground WiFi was solid, with 14 Mbps down and 12 up (we were one site away from a repeater pole). The speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 77 Mbps down and 3 up. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
