Prompton State Park

Just a short 5-minute drive from the campground, Prompton State Park boasts hiking trails, a 290-acre lake, and an 18-hole disc golf course. Located on 1500 acres of public land, there are 26 miles of multi-use trails that are great for hikers and bikers (if you're looking for a challenge). The lake has 6.25 miles of shoreline for fishing (PA Fishing License Required), bird watching, and boat launching. And the 18-hole disc golf course is one of the best in the area.

Steamtown National Historic Site

A short drive to the railroad yards of Scranton reveals the Steamtown NHS. This site offers an indoor museum, featuring exhibits on steam-powered trains and railroads, as well as locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, and historical railroad maintenance equipment. Get up close and personal with the locomotives and enjoy one of the planned excursions!

Wayne County Fairgrounds

We are a short five-minute drive from the fairgrounds that host the Wayne County Fair. This local agricultural fair reoccurs yearly and starts the first Friday in August and runs until the second Saturday (a full week). Free parking, rides, and access to most grandstand shows are included in the $10 per person fee. Enjoy games, rides, food, exhibits, livestock shows, thrill shows, truck, and tractor pulls, live entertainment, fireworks, and a great country music event ($).
