Boothbay Harbor's Windjammer Days Festival, www.windjammerdays.org, takes place in Boothbay Harbor celebrating Maritime History and Sailing. Majestic windjammers come from up and down the coast to participate in this exciting early-season event. The American Eagle, Heritage, Isaac H. Evans, Nathaniel Bowditch, and Stephen Taber are a few of the schooners participating in Windjammer Days. The schooners arrive and anchor in the harbor amidst band concerts, a parade ashore and evening fireworks. Take a cruise!
The Moxie Festival, www.moxiefestival.com, is held in Lisbon Falls, (6 miles from the campground). Moxie is the unique New England soft drink. Moxie was first marked as a patent medicine in 1876 in Lowell, Massachusetts. It was guaranteed to cure multiple ills. Enjoy the parade, bike rally, 5K run, food court, Moxie Chug-n-Challenge, carnival rides, river race, and fireworks!
Yarmouth hosts the Clam Festival every year, just 8 miles from the campground! Have a fun filled day of arts, crafts, music, competition events (running and bike races), clams and melted butter! Don't forget to watch for “Marty” the Moose and his friends in the parade on Friday night! Join us for a Lobster and Clam Dinner on Saturday evening!
Rockland is home to the North Atlantic Blue's Festival. Spend the day in the historic sea-side town and enjoy the music of great artists.
Rockland is home to the Maine Lobster Festival, "Five Days of Feasting and Fun on the Fabulous Coast of Maine!" What do you get when you mix the world's greatest lobster cooker, 20,000 pounds of lobster, a sea goddess coronation, a big parade, top notch entertainment, an international crate race, fine art, talented crafts people and vendors, US Navy ship tours, cooking contests, marine tent and more? The Maine Lobster Festival!
Rockland hosts the Maine Boats and Harbor Show every August. Visit the historic sea-side town to enjoy great boats, fine food, exhibits, live music, antique craft and engines, model yacht pond, and the World Championship Boatyard Dog Trials!
Visit the Annual Great Falls Balloon Festival, www.greatfallsballoonfestival.org, on the riverfront in Lewiston/Auburn (8 miles from the campground) where hot air balloons take to the skies (6AM to 6PM) along the River. Enjoy live music, arts, crafts, food, carnival and games.
Fryeburg Fair, www.fryeburgfair.org, Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic, is a fall spectacular in New England! Located on the western border of Maine, with over 3,000 animals, an incredible array of food, entertainment, rides, contests, events and attractions. Something for everyone! Just the drive in itself, from the campground, with the fall leaf colors is amazing!
