The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because of the lack of safety at the entrance to the park. I think it would be much safer for kids if the entrance was closed off with a. Gate from the entrance of the park to the main office. Anyone off the main street could easily walk right into where all the kids are playing, we watch our kids but not everyone does and it's a matter of safety

Had a wonderful time camping at KOA Cardinal! The staff are friendly and helpful. There are so many great activities for the kids, as well as the pizza shack and food truck. We can't wait to return!

Visited in August, 2025. Staff are very friendly. Grounds were very clean. Campsite is quiet. This was our second visit with our granddaughter and her friend. Kids programs are fun and popular. Pool is always an attraction for the kids.

Cabins are very clean and the linen provided was adequate and also very clean. Lots of fun activities for the kids but they can be pricey. My son suggested that there be pool noodles or other flotation type toys at the pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful,Overall a great stay.

We come back to Cardinal KOA time and again because there is so much for our kiddo to do. He gets so excited to see what's on the activity board every weekend. Clean, great service, lovely sites, everything is perfect.

It was my first time at a KOA and will likely come back in the future. Was overwhelmed at all the activities and fun attractions for kids. Will recommend to all families with children for sure. Loved the band. Just a bit hard to leave when all roads are filled and packed with vehicles waiting for the dump station. Should be a through way not to wait in line if you just want to leave. Thanks

Great stay with our trailer and kids! Owners take very good care of the campsite and probably the cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen in a campsite. Activities were great for the kids and lots to do. Will be coming back soon!

Showers take forever to get warm. There was a stump in the site that made it so I had to back my trailer out of a pull through. Wifi service was excellent except that no matter what I did, I couldn’t connect to the internet. Pool has heaters but is still cold. Roads are covered with 1” coarse gravel. Should use crusher fines instead. Send help to this place.

AMAZING!!!!! This year we decided to go with a patio site and were not disappointed. Came with bbq Adirondack chairs and patio set. It was so much fun for our 3 grandkids 4 to 8 yrs. Front office stay are wonderful! Very polite, professional and friendly. Grounds are clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend this KOA to families with children. Thank you so much for great hospitality

Great place to stay, they go over and above with coffee makers, spatula’s, towels, sheets. Staff can be a bit abrupt when it’s 8 pm closing time for the shop. But other than this, it’s a great place to camp!

We had an absolute wonderful week with our grandson. The planned activities, the staff, and everything else available kept our grandson busy during our stay. The campground is very clean, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable letting our 6yo grandson ride his bike throughout the park alone. It was a fabulous week to end summer vacation for him.

Loved our stay. Was our first time here. We will definitely be back next Summer. Our cabin was very clean. One thing I will suggest is the amount of smokers the smell comes into the cabin if you want your windows open. I am not sure if you could come up with a smoking area instead of at the sites. Just a suggestion. Thank you.

Pro's - Clean. Friendly staff. Quiet at night. Con's - Rented go-cart style bicycles on the road all day/evening and they are kept behind the office beside the road. I had to get out of my car to move a returned unit off the road. No outdoor shower at the pool. I turned off a shower in the public restroom that was left on and unattended. Maintenance area needs a fence to hide the untidy look.

The park is very well maintained and has an abundance of activities for children. We are a retired couple passing through for only one night. They boast “wireless internet available at this KOA”. We did not have good internet at all. They suggested it was due to “all the tress”. Those pine tress have been there for a long time. Don’t advertise something you don’t or can’t provide.

It was a fantastic experience. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the friendly staff. It was a perfect place to spend quality time with my family, and we really enjoyed the good number of activities available.

Was very good, lots for kids to do. My only complaint was the flies were extreme. There were so many flies it was hard to eat outside. I understand that it is not your fault but I'm wondering if there is a way to control this.

We stayed in the high end cabins. There is no Wi-Fi that gets to the location of the cabins so I had to constantly walk to the front to get and receive messages and remotely feed and check on my cats through a Wi-Fi device. Given we paid more for the cabin I did not expect it to be so difficult to get access to Wi-Fi. All they would need to do is get a Wi-Fi extender to the cabins

The pool really needs a railing at the stairs: was very dangerous for the older people getting in and out to keep their balance. Was overall well kept and facilities were kept as clean as possible. In previous years there were activities every day, this time they were only on Saturday. Have been to very similar campgrounds this year for 70$ vs 100$ here, at this price I likely won't be back.

Clean bathrooms and love the outdoor sink for doing dishes...all sites have nice big trees to protect from the elements and creates lovely scenery. Love the mini golf and pool and bouncy cushion! We'll be back again!

My second stay at KOA cardinal it was a great stay there was a fire ban which was expected but I noticed a few sites that had fires going (not propane fires) other then that great stay

First time staying at a KOA. The activities and amenities for the kids were wonderful! The site was spacious enough and nice a level! Unfortunately the water pressure was so low we couldn’t use it in our trailer and had we wanted to fill our tanks it would have taken hours. The pool needs attention and the playgrounds for big and little kids are on opposite sides of campground…

We stayed in cabin 09 , it was very clean and well set up for the 3 of us. We enjoyed the swimming pool, and the bouncy bubbles my grandson had a great time and we are planning on coming back , maybe in the fall. Over all you have a great campsite.

We’ve stayed at MANY KOAs and this was by far the worst . Basic facilities and noisy red neck clientele . All the evening while we were there some long term. Campers alllowed their kids to non stop ride around in noisy electric toys , Thw same folks were up late drinking and were noisy in the evenings too. There is no way you should call the location “ Ottawa” its FIFTY mimes away

This is our second year staying in a cabin, we generally enjoyed our stay very nice space comfy beds great outdoor space. A few things was the bathroom lock was broken, clock did not work and bunk blankets did not keep warmth. More kids activities during the week would be nice. The pooled and store close quite early. Staff are very nice and helpful. A very hit and miss stay still a nice space.

Wonderful campground, very clean facilities. The pool, splash pad and play area was throughly enjoyed by the kids. Great campground within an hour from home, will plan to visit again.

We were happy with our stay and had an enjoyable experience overall. Pros: * The cabin was clean and well-maintained. * The heating and air conditioning worked very well. * The cabin was well-equipped * The recreational facilities and activities organized for children were fantastic and very engaging. * The staff were very friendly, helpful, and provided excellent customer service. Cons: * The cabin was advertised as accommodating 6 people, with a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a pull-out couch. The beds were reasonably comfortable, but the couch was unusable for sleeping due to a severe dip in the middle, making it uncomfortable and likely to cause back pain. In reality, the cabin only had 4 comfortable sleeping spaces, not 6. * The propane BBQ had a very weak flame, which made it difficult to cook our food properly. * There was a sewage-like smell inside the cabin throughout the night. * There was also an unpleasant sewage smell in the campground, apparently due to the RV dumping station being located nearby. * At 3 PM on Sunday, I was told bike rentals had ended for the season. Two hours later, my upset 8-year-old saw other kids renting bikes. The staff explained they had resumed rentals due to high demand and kindly offered us a free ride, which I appreciated. However, the inconsistent information left us both disappointed. I hope this doesn't happen again.

Nice campground. No sewer hook ups but there is a dump station. Place was pretty empty when we came so was a little disappointed they put us in a pull through site that was very hard to turn into and no room for our truck. So many sites would of accomodated us better

If you have kids and they love interacting with other kids come here. Kids all over having fun. Lots of things for them to do. Splash pad and large play structure was the highlight. Although better parental supervision is required. Park was clean and staff pleasant. Some sites were very narrow however our patio site was probably the best for space. Lots of nice large trees. Park is close to Ottawa and the 401. $15 for firewood is reasonable. Only 4 stars as no sewer available (strange for KOA). Better dumping setup and control by staff during check-out is required. Road to exit was completely blocked. Even if you didn't need to dump you were forced to wait. Kids want to return so I guess we are!
