Not your fault but so windy first 4 days, we couldn’t do anything outside Coldest it’s been in October the 17 years we’ve been down here � But we still enjoy the campground…

On Oct 13 office called see if I was going to make it if Rt 12 opened &. warned for loss of deposit. Failed to tell me that my site was flooded. Arrived early evening no one to help us. Slept on the camp road for the night. Had wait until 9 for new site. Couldn't renew our original site for 2026 because we had to move. Really? No ramp for fish carts, no sign of any concern. Site maintenance poor.

Love the campground. Had some problems with flooded sites and having friends unable to stay on their original site. Could be avoided if sites were maybe filled in.

Our spot was almost completely under water. We had to pay an extra $189.00 to get a spot that wasn't under water. We won't be back.

Some of the staff were very short after being ask the helper. That won't stop me from coming back. Hopefully the storm damage will be fixed to beach access for handicap people is fixed.

Great location, friendly staff! We came in the day after nc12 opened from the northeaster some spots were a little wet and we asked about getting a different spot (the spots dried out quickly but we wanted dry faster) the staff were real nice helping us get one. Our RV is 45 feet so it is not like we could fit a lot of the spots that were available. We already booked our trip for next year!

This was our first stay at a KOA resort. It was a great experience. Loved the proximity to the beach, numerous amenities and friendly service from each staff member. Clean and well cared for resort.

Great Loculation and area. Place is tired and needs deep clean and updating, very tight to get around and move. might want to rethink refunding for national disasters and large storms. folk working there aren't the friendliest

We loved this location on the beach despite the nor’easter that had rolled through before our stay which delayed our getting there as planned. The staff was super friendly and there were plenty of planned activities despite our arriving during the shoulder season.

Although Mother Nature impacted our visit, our return visit to this KOA was very enjoyable and staff adjusted well to our reservation modifications because weather and road closings. Sites are very tight: we were not able to park our truck in front of our fifth wheel and there was barely enough room for truck on site (had to park it to edge of fire pit. I will add 8 ft to our next reservation

We came for a long weekend with our daughter and granddaughter. It is a very nice campground with lots of fun and activities for everyone. We will definitely be back.

the “pull through” (it was just long enough for our 34 foot RV, no place to put our tow) we got was a mud hole. the rest rooms were okay but not cleaned over the weekend.

Spots are always nice and clean. Though they could space people out a bit more when it’s not fully booked. Only reason why they didn’t get 5 stars was because of their bathrooms. Specifically the bathrooms by the tiki bar and the beach access. There was poop all over one of the stalls in both bathrooms, and it was there for days. Which leads me to believe they don’t clean the bathrooms often

Office staff was great. Grounds were in need of countless pot hole repairs. New and old restrooms were both very clean. The upgraded sites were wonderful. Great seaside location for Rodanthe. —— But wish there was more notices about weather warnings. We left days early on our own to barely beat the flooding and being trapped on the island for extended days on end. Bridges/roads closed soon aft

Great campground and location. We left 2 days early because the Noreaster was coming. Ended up being a smart move. Only problem was the roads between rows of campsites have big giant potholes. You would think they would be on top of this. KOA Camper was there for inspection of park. Hopefully they noticed this.

Perfect place for family with kids. Lots to do. Huge pool not heated so it was not being used. Hot tub was not hot. The bouncy pit was very popular. This KOA needs some real TLC. Roads need paving/ upgrading. Steps to beach were extremely difficult because of sand. Blow it off. By the bathroom at the beach there was a stinky sewage hole poorly covered. It needed appropriate covering.

I want to love it there but we didn't have the best experience, with the campground and with the staff. There were a few issues/drama with us getting out site when we arrived, several sites were muddy and holding water, but the way the staff handled it made it worse. Both trips there this year were cut short by storms, I recommend the weather insurance.

very windy so we left before the storm hit. did not get a chance to use much of the facilities because of weather but it was a very nicely laid out campground. Kept very clean including the comfort stations.

First ever complaint with any KOA. This particular one refused to refund our deposit when National Weather service gave "severe warning" to the area. Sure enough the road got closed and ferry shut down. I got refund from another campground and the ferry...no problem. I love KOA but this one had no compassion...other campers evacuated so no lost revenue from my cancelation. Nobody was coming!!!

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
