Vacation. 7 nights. The only suggestion I have is the bath house has way too many outside lights. Only need to light up porch area

It was everything we had hoped for. Peace and quiet while enjoying the beauty of the area during the off season. Campground is super clean, tons of amenities and the staff was very helpful. Thank you!

I have been winter camping at this KOA since it was just me & a troop of Boy Scouts, but this trip was very disappointing.The design of the new bathroom/shower facility falls short-tiny hooks, no shower shelf, not enough hot water to rinse my hair, & couldn’t power my hairdryer-thus I walked outside in freezing wind with wet hair. Also, people let their dogs pee on my campsite while I was there.

We really enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal that was hosted and brought together by the staff at KOA. It was great to travel, but still have the traditional meal. It was a nice surprise to have the hot tub on and working and the location was perfect. Being able to walk right on the beach from our rv site was magical.

We had a great stay through the Thanksgiving holiday week. I want to thank Cape Hatteras KOA for a great vacation. We will be back soon.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the camp sites were nice and well kept. The downfall is the poorly maintained interior roads. Our RV began to dump items off the cabinet tops and bathroom counter as we had to bounce through huge potholes to our RV camp site. We had to stay an extra day, and that was no problem. Then we had to delay our delay by a few hours because of high winds- again, no problem. Everyone at the desk was so nice! and I especially enjoyed the hot shower in the bath house

Excellent location! We were able to visit sites north and south of the campground from this central location on the Outer Banks Clean bathrooms. We loved hearing the waves each night. Lots of long walks on the seemingly endless beach. We do wish the WIFI worked better. The host in the office acknowledged that the WIFI doesn’t reach very far and offered us the cafe space if we “had” to us

We stayed at a site next to the dunes and really enjoyed it. I used the shower facility, and it was clean, convenient and the water was hot. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great set up with pool, tiki bar, Cafe, etc. Enjoyed watching the parasurfers and sunset across the road. Lots of cool activities too. Would definitely stay again.

Great KOA. Lots of activities. They had a nice Halloween party for kids. The campground has plenty of activities to do. They are very nice and caring. We were stuck on the island due to road closures and they let us use our site for a few hours after check out time. Of course no one was coming on the island or going out but it was very nice. I loved the island and also Ocracoke.

Great campground located on the beach with beach access. Great store with a cafe where you can order food. Beautiful, large pool and a large hot tub. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Marion and Sandra both are very customer service oriented and go out of their way to help you.

The Bad - roads in the campground were the worst we have seen in 5 years coming. Lots of pot holes all over the place. The cable did not work. The so called premium site was super small. Even the fire pit was over on the neighbors space. Poorly designed. Need to rethink the layout. Beach access was terrible. People with foot or leg issues were having a lot of difficulty getting up the ramp

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
