This was the first time in a long time that I stayed at KOA. The staff was very friendly. The campground was kept clean. You put your daily trash on the edge of the road and it was picked up every time within 15 minutes. The amenities were open, although we only used the hot tub. Yep. We will be staying there again!

This KOA campground is beautiful and the customer service outstanding! The layout of the campground is ideal for those family members wanting to get away and just enjoy the calm of a seashore town/establishment. My wife and I have never gone to the Outer Banks, but rest assure, that we will be coming back to the Cape Hatteras Outer Banks KOA in the future. Highly recommended!

We had a great patio spot conveniently located next to the showers. Very easy to navigate within the park and the new access to the ocean front was great!

The only thing I’d like changed is being able to choose your site without paying a big fee

We were here in April ‘26 so it was very lightly populated. Very nice campground. We were in a 5th wheel with full hookup on site #407, just a few rows from the beach access. Campground is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. Beach erosion is a significant concern though. Little to no beach available during our stay. There is plenty of beach at the Rodanthe pier just down the road.

Upon check in, we notified the front desk of a discount card we had through Criuse America. She said she had never heard of it & refused to apply the discount. We also got a pet site that cost extra & we were not able to utilize the fenced in area as it was not properly secured. There were several gaps under the fence, attempted to be filled with rocks, but he would escape. The pool was very nice.

Nice and clean overall. The staff were very helpful. We would definitely come back and stay here again. Keep up the good work!

Camp staff is very friendly and helpful

Nice park on the OBX, right on the beach.

Water was shut for an emergency but we were never notified. We picked a spot a year in advance near the dunes and an entrance to the beach. The 3rd night we were there the steps to the beach snapped off. We were there for the entire month of April and the stairs were not fixed. They came to move sand with a very loud machine every morning at 8 for 2 hours. And that was it for the day. No access

Great stay at Cape Hatteras KOA, we have stayed the last couple years for the whole month since we have retired. Very nice Campground and Beach access and just a short nice drive to Restaurants in Nags Head or the other direction Avon. There are also a few close by to the Campground! Look forward to future stays!

Loved the pool and the hot tub. Sites are very close to each other but also close to the beach. Very dog friendly.

A site for a 43’ 5th wheel & dually is barely big enough for the 5th wheel alone. We were moved to another site & charged extra without being told. The young lady who checked us in responded with deer in the headlights look every question I asked. She couldn’t explain the extra charge, which equaled exactly one night from my original reservation. She sent me the receipts & let me figure it o

Third year spending 2 weeks in April - we absolutely love the campground - upgrades to the WiFi are great - see you next year !!!

Great stay!

Great location right at the beach, with the bay just across the street (beautiful sun sets!). The basic campsites are tight and could use some TLC, but the premium sites look really nice and well-maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Camp was pretty empty while we were there; there were lots of open spaces - I wish they didn't keep putting people directly next to us; space us out!

Wonderful wonderful people. Wonderful campground. It's understandable that the beach access was limited during our stay, and after a few days there, the beach access became very hazardous down by site 113 because the ocean washed away the access point, however campground worked diligently to get the beach house access finished before we left on Thursday. This is my 3rd time there and love it.

Very nice place to chill and relax. Not much going on in the area. If you are looking for a nice stay-cation this is the spot.

Basketball from 7am to 10pm. Jumping on the rubber thing in the middle 930pm. Since the managers live right on site, they should cruise the grounds and enforce the quiet time periods. On the most deluxe site, out slide out was 12 feet from the next slide out. All the windows are on the slide out side so we had to keep our blinds shut the entire time. Might as well been in a cave. Not returning.

Beach access closed, restaurant closed, we paid full price but listed things not available. Advertised amenities should all be working.

Great stay. Clean and beautiful campground. Looking forward to our next visit!!

What an outstanding stay. Campground was quiet and plenty of space for my 5th wheel and tow vehicle.

First time to the beach. Your campground was great! The bathhouse and laundry facilities were clean. The clerk at registration was friendly and helpful. We were impressed by the overall condition of your campground. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our site but had a lot of foot traffic due to the 2 access points being shut down due to the storm. Everyone had to come through our site to get on the alternate access path to the beach. The wifi was not able to be used, it was spotty and very slow and wouldn't connect to some of our devices. Pool needs a heater and the workers rv's are in deplorable shape being eyesores.

It is very clean. Great staff. However I found the rv site a little small

Disappointed with beach access for me being disabled but understand why. Hope this can be repaired so we would come back

Stay was good. I think the campground should have been more well kept for the price. Some of the workers or full time residents campers were all junked up on outside. Campground over all just needed some tlc. Some of staff were friendly but some were not really a little rude. There didn’t seem to be plans for late anorak. We were 6 mins late and staff saw us at door and did nothing knocked on do

Our first stay at a KOA. And it was great! Wonderful staff, very clean grounds, shower house/laundry was always in perfect condition. Very clean. The only negative was the stairway to beach was not completed while we were there. But the walk did us good.ϋ we will definitely be returning. Hopefully early fall.

Nice park. But. Whoever thought putting a pile of rocks on every corner, needs to actually pull a trailer in sometime. Every single big trailer and class A had to plow over this mess risking damage. The reason people run off the road is there is no way close to enough room to turn a large rv. The rocks should be leveled off so they can be a base to drive on. It’s absolutely needed to turn.

We love this campground-it never disappoints!

For our first visit was very awesome and gave us appetite for more..

Good location on the Outer Banks National seashore. Site clean, staff friendly and courteous. Quiet

Loved our site; next time we will request being near couples only. The family we had next to us on Friday until we left were loud, messy, littered and language was foul.

It was awesome! Despite the steps washing away in a recent storm. Access to the beach was still accessible. The waves were great. And the staff and amenities were great to! We will back again in the fall.

10s all around we love the outer banks the staff are always friendly and helpful I have to mention that the cable is the worst that we have ever seen no tv our entire stay they have to replace the whole system really couldn’t stream the internet is poor at best hopefully they will fix both of these issues when we return

Would’ve been a full 10 score. It wasn’t so darn windy. Not your fault, but it goes. It was unfortunate that the stairway to the ocean had washed out, but Sasha was very accommodating to offer some compensation agreeable to us both for the inconvenience. My thought was that if the damage had occurred prior to our arrival, we should’ve been told. As.senior citizens it is difficult to climb du

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
