This was our first stay here and it was fantastic. The club house/pool/hot tub area was really good but the access to the beach was even better. A major bonus was the K9 area because it’s one of the best seen at a KOA. It’s huge with 3 sections plus a water station. My 2 labs had plenty of running room plus they loved the beach. We will definitely be back.

Overall had a great time! Plenty of activities through out the week to keep kids/ adults entertained. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only real problems that we found were that sites were not very big, especially to have a fire ring in ithem, our neighbors would light theirs’ and it was only 15 ft from our camper. The roads were narrow which makes any kind of passing difficult

Very friendly staff. My mom had an emergency and the staff was so helpful. Several stopped by to see how she was the next day. Park was kept clean. Bath house very nice.

We have stayed at the Cape Hatteras KOA many times. This time our trip was planned with less lead time, we ended up in a site with a low spot. Luckily we didn’t have much rain during our visit, if we had gotten much rain we would have had a deep puddle as we got off the steps from, out camper.

Left early due to over priced site... I know the property gets hurricane damage from time to time.. I believe this is the 3rd most expensive koa in the country... PLEASE ENFORCE THE 5 MPH SPEED LIMIT... We have been coming to koa Hatteras for 20 years.. I Have never been contacted about you survey...please feel free

I was a little nervous to book after reading reviews that the roads in the campground were in bad shape. Just to clarify the main road leading in is paved and in great shape. The side roads leading into the sites are very rough with large potholes. Other than that the campground was everything we’d hoped and just as pictured online. We really did enjoy our stay and would book again.

First time here. Streets need some attention as there are pot holes everywhere. Facilities are nice and pool/bar/entertainment areas are awesome. Beach was easy to access. Definitely recommend!

Would have appreciated more adult poolside activities. Beach pathways needed landscaping and sand cleaning. Beach showers flooded with water; needed more cleaning.

Beautiful setting although pricey due to mid season rates and late reservation. Plenty of space at the campsite and close to the beach access. We will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

The campground is beautiful and very well maintained. The bathhouses are great with everything (shower, sink and toilet) located in one private stall. Lots of fun things for families to do and the location to the beach is just a short walk. However, the stairs are very difficult to navigate due to sand and would be helpful to have them routinely cleaned off.

The grounds were clean and well kept, the facilities were immaculate and the staff was friendly. My only suggestion is to be more forward in dealing with rogue teens as they took over the bounce pillow daily for hours and our small kids never got to use it and they were running a muck at the pool one night making it miserable.

All the staff is super friendly and helpful. We had an absolutely great time. Don’t stay here if you are an impatient person. There are lots of kids, riding bikes and walking around as well as golf carts going. places. Hopefully, we’ll see you next year.!

Very nicely kept. We ordered wood at the office and it arrived at our campsite before we did. The staff is constantly roaming the park to keep the place in tip top shape. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

Our site was a lot tighter than we expected and was dirty. We also did not like the fact that rules were not enforced with children riding half carts as young as 9 years old with out supervision(very dangerous), and not stopped when seen by KOA personnel. The location is great but not up to KOA standards as KOA members we stay a lot of them, Camp Hatteras is a better fit for us when at OBX.

This was a great spot to stay. Minutes walk to the beach, great big pool and live music!! No city lights and stars stars stars. Lots of other offerings everyday as well. Would def come back if we ever go to OBX again.

Personally, my family has a difficult time with the crowded beach environment and folks who come with it. Subsequently, I can't recommend it. My mistake in scheduling this KOA, it won't happen again.

Check in staff is professional and friendly. Our escort help us get into our site. The sites and roads are tight and fairly level with fire rings and picnic tables. Good location to explore the island. When leaving on our travel day two gentlemen assisted us with pulling out of our site since the site is tight. Very thankful for their help and escort out since we are over 60 feet with our tow veh.

Not satisfied at all. Rented a cabin as well as a rv site, cable did not work the entire time we were there. It felt like nothing was maintained on site except the pool. Washing machine in laundry was broken and the cabin we rented had ants in the interior. Way too much money. Sites we crammed together, and way too small. Roadways into campsites have not been maintained. Never again.

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
