Lots of activities for kids and friendly staff. Lots of improvements since we first visited 4 years ago. However the quality and cleanliness still doesn’t meet the price.

Our 4th visit in the last 10 years, we will not be back. What were once beautiful facilities have gone without proper care and maintenance. Unsightly RV’s - owned or used by workers in the resort, and abandoned vehicles were outside our windows. Roads have large potholes and sites are largely uncared for. Beach area is negligible and extremely sloped making time at the beach difficult at bes

The staff was especially helpful and friendly. The amenities for the campers and their families were plentiful. Had a really enjoyable stay and will be returning soon!

The front desk either knows all the basic information or knows nothing.Three couples were each told different information to the same questions. The most glaring is one couple was told no refund for early checkout when a hurricane was approaching; the next couple was told there was only a 2 day refund; the 3rd couple was given a full 3 day refund . Solved by evacuation order, but still a problem

Found this place a few years back. Needed something as handicap accessible as possible and the wood ramp to the beach was awesome. Recent stays it’s over grown and filled with sand making the ramp pointless. Aside from that everything’s been great! Quick responses and clean area.

unfortunately, we got there about 4:00 and checked in got to our site set up our motorhome and at 5:00 got an email saying we had to vacate the campground by 10:00 a.m on Monday so our stay was short lived. looked like a nice park but can't give anymore information about it. It was Dare county that issued the evacuation not the campground. The campground handled very well.

We had a wonderful time camping. The only thing that would be better is if the grass was cut. Other than that..the sites were big. The pool was big and clean. The employees were all nice and they had a lot of activities for everyone! We will definitely come back!!!

We love it! The campsites are the perfect size, the pool is like a resort. The laundry room has plenty of washers/dryers and you can relax by the pool while waiting. The beach access is perfect with bathrooms located close to the beach. The bath-houses were clean and roomy. I love that we get a text each day with information on the campground activities. It was a great stay!

We loved our return stay at this campground and loved the updated showers. I would suggest painting a yellow line or something else to alert of the steps leading towards the new restroom, we tripped a couple of times.

Bathrooms and showers were not clean, soap out, and the site was without sewer and at a high price. Access to ocean was poor, the road to our campsite was in bad condition, potholes everwhere. Light pole was leaning down. This place should be avoided.

The Cape Hatteras KOA is our family's favorite place to visit each summer. The campground has excellent amenities and lots of activities for kids. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

We didn't know what to expect with camping at the beach but we had a blast. This resort is top notch, clean and everyone was extremely friendly. The camground was safe for kids to play. The pool was huge and never felt crowded. The store has most things you could need with a cafe on-site you literally don't have to leave for anything. We loved everything about it and will certainly be back!

We sure enjoyed our stay!!! The site was by far the best, and the dog pen was well liked by our dogs. From the beach to the pool, staff members were always smiling, and definitely love what they do. We booked the same site again for next year!!!!

Very nice site, almost perfectly level. Lots of activities. Our dogs enjoyed being in their pet pen. Appreciated the short walk to be on the beach!

Our 3rd time coming back to Cape Hatteras KOA and we will plan a trip again in the future. By far, the best KOA we have ever experienced. Being right on the beach, less commercialized area is the perfect combination. We recommend this campground to anyone we talk to about camping. Thanks for another amazing vacation!

Staff very friendly. Facility has improved since our prior stay 3 years ago. Grounds still need much work. Potholes everywhere. Buildings still need investment. Wi-Fi virtually useless even at sites near main building. Fresh paint on aged materials does not make them new. Location in fantastic. That is the real draw. Will try again in a couple of years to see if things continue to improve

Staff and amenities great, sizable clean bathrooms. Multiple segment dog park terrific. Big drawback is density and space size. Small lots, feel on top of each other. Would it hurt to eliminate some spots and make them more spacious?

We usually stay 2 times a year but this time I was really disappointed in all the golf carts and motorized scooters. On several occasions I was walking my 3 year old grandson and nearly got wiped out with children and their electric scooters going way too fast. In my opinion these should not be allowed. Too reckless

We were there for five nights. We enjoyed wood fires, the ocean, the swimming pool, the tiki bar, the kids train, the Derby drawing ducks. A good time was hand by all!

My family had an amazing time! There was ALWAYS something going on at the pool. Great amenities, clean bathrooms, oceanfront and access to the Pamlico Sound for sunsets, this KOA had it all! It was the perfect family getaway for my family.

It’s beautiful there and will be back but I feel the need to mention that the bathrooms were in need of repair and better cleaning and the relaxing hot tub they mentioned is actually a kiddie pool with babies in diapers and toddlers sticky popsicles �Ͻ

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
