Stayed in cabin 532 and immediately saw ants on bed and walls. Informed front desk and maint set 2 small ant traps. Ended up buying several cans of ant spray during stay. Been coming here for many years and never had this problem before. Feel like more could’ve been done to address the issue. Shower renovations were very nice though.

Everything was wonderful and clean. I didn’t know what to expect but was very surprised by how awesome it was. The family vibe and kid safe environment was awesome. The suites were very clean. One small helpful thing I wish we’d had was more places to hang towels, both beach and bath. Not a big deal but i did notice I didn’t have enough hangers. We will absolutely be back!

I sent an email to Cape Hatteras KOA after we checked in. This is our 3rd stay at KOA’s across America. Please reference that email. Unfortinately, the “Deluxe” cabin we rented at Cape Hatteras KOA did not meet our expectations.

Propane fire pit didn’t work. GT 2 shower leaks and the water temperature fluctuates to just right to cold then hot scalding. Did voice the above problems when I checked out. Was supposed to be contacted by manager. I believe some kind of refund should be issued

This place is amazing. We enjoyed coming back year after year. So many activities for the kids to do. Jason is absolutely amazing ! He is so kind and energetic. My kids look for him. He is always smiling looking for the next high five to give out. He truly is one of a kind employee. Can’t wait to come back next year !

We have visited twice and absolutely LOVE this KOA! It’s gorgeous, clean, friendly and in an amazing location. We loved the coastal cottage we stayed in this past week. It was perfection. We recommend this KOA to everyone and look forward to visiting again! Thanks for helping me create a fun vacation week with my teen. Also I want to note that as a single parent, we feel safe staying here!!

Good location in OBX but nothing much to do in the area. Sound and beach access. Good amenities. LOTS of kids during summer so pool/hot tub is crowded with them. Deluxe cabins don't get terribly cold with A/C - bring fans! Overall if you are looking for a nice place in OBX, it is good.

We love this KOA. We come every 4th of July. We have made some lifetime friends from all over and we all come back year after year! The campground was neat and clean. Staff was super friendly! See you next year!

We rented the newly built Coastal Cottage. It was simple yet had the most useful amenities (fridge/freezer, small counter space, wall hooks, newer wall HVAC, ceiling fan/light, glass sliding door, larger deck w table and chairs. The public bathrooms were remodeled into shower/sink/toilet suites. My only complaint: a ramp over the dunes to access the beach w roller carts would be A+. C U next year!

Great stay for a beach getaway. I was looking to just relax on the beach and the KOA offers just that. I stayed in one of the rooms above the camp store which was right at the entrance. It was about a 1/4 mile walk through the camp ground to the sandy beach (you can rent a golf cart-I didn’t). The pool was great. A few restaurants nd shops in walking distance.

Great service in the store and with registration, great picking up trash and delivering wood, cabin didnt stay cool well as the door had crackes and not very insulated to keep the cool air in and the location of the ac unit was so high could reach to adjust anything if needed, the bathroom ahower area the womens first stall on the lt was always clogged and dirty otherwise, great Activities

My favorite campground & the deluxe cabin with sound view was amazing! My only complaint is parking at those front cabins. I have a truck & that parking lot in one lane only so I couldn't park or get out easily or park under the cabin easily. That parking lot really needs to be expanded so people don't get stuck in the lot.

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
