Our stay was nice however our cabin had cracks and there were huge roaches that got in. 3 were killed one night inside and one was even on bed that a child was sleeping in which was super unfortunate for the price paid. Housekeeping gave us roach spray which was nice however not ideal to use with our infant. The campground was nice and clean besides that!

Dirty bathrooms that were hardly ever cleaned. Cabins are way too close. You literally only have like 3 feet between your fire pit and your neighbors. The campground was not properly maintained. Lots of overgrowth and weeds and puddles that remained for days. Almost all of the staff were unpleasant and acted like it was a chore to assist. The price per night for the cabin is way too much.

Third year here. Previous two years we stayed in a camping cabin. This year we upgraded to a regular cabin. It was not clean when we checked in and management had to come back out and clean it. We have stayed in a similar level of accommodations in New Bern, and that was awesome. We love coming to this KOA because it’s in the beach. Accommodations could have been better. Staff was nice.

Could hardly get in our cabin. Key wouldn't work. Had to get worker. He couldn't get it. Left, then came back and said you had to go up and down with it as you turn the key. Wife or daughter couldn't get in the whole time. Very frustrating. Ants in there as well crawling on us

You guys are great!!! My granddaughter really enjoyed her stay. We were in the rustic cabins—the ac was definitely a necessity and it worked well. So did the refrigerator! Everything was clean and nicely maintained. The only problem was the wood roaches in my son’s cabin. Other than that, things were great!

This is our second visit to the KOA only this time we stayed in the cabin and spent quite a bit to do so. The cabin wasn’t infested with cockroaches, and when I told the lady at the front desk, she wanted to know ‘what color of the cockroach was?’. It was a shaky start. I think with a little effort from the staff we could have gotten off to a better start. The kitchen was well supplied and had nice appliances. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. (upgrade the pillows). I also think for $300 a night there should've been Wifi and something other than coax cable for TV reception. We weren't able to watch TV at all b/c of the poor signal.

The entire week was perfect and exactly what was needed. Deluxe cabin had everything you need. Great view from any side. Really enjoyed the rocking chairs. Very much appreciated the texts to let us know of events and storm emergencies. The staff was over the top friendly and really helpful. Our last night was really great, hot tub in the rain! We will be back

The only thing was that we were told that the glamping tent had dishes with cutlery but when we got there, we found out that none of that was there. The front office did accommodate us and let us borrow some for the week, but the website should be specific about what is there and what is not there.

We had a great time at KOA Hatteras. Very family friendly. All the facilities were clean. They have so many activities put together for the kids. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the oceanfront cottage. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable and a perfect weekend getaway

It was very cost-effective, as we used the cabin just to sleep, but we had access to the pool, BBQ, campfire, activities, etc., and visited different beaches and attractions. The only problem was some bed bugs biting my kids. Now we have to prevent the bugs from infesting my house.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this KOA. We have been to many different ones and thsi is by far our favorite. Stayed in a rustic cabin, used the shower houses which were so clean, pool/hottub awesome. Best part beach is dog friendly and able to have fires on the beach! Can't wait to return next year!

I picked up my cabin slip it had someone else’s last name on it. They did not verify any of my information when we checked in. Upon arrival to the cabin the cabin was found unlocked, the toilet handle was broken after a first night it was discovered that the ac in the main bedroom was broken. The next morning we informed the staff and they said that they would inform maintenance, wasn’t fixed.

I come once a month, especially in the warmer months. I love the coastal cabins. The staff is very friendly. The activities are fun. The beach is the best, of course.

400 characters isn't enough. Pocket door off railing, table leg broken off, TV's with grainy image (no cable), shelf on fridge door had bar missing, 2 outlets not working, outdoor chair arm broke off, and key to lock/unlock had 2b vigorously jiggled to work. Spent too much of my vacation waiting on maintenance to fix things & not everything was fixed. Been coming 4 over 10 yrs will not be back.

We had the best stay in the deluxe oceanview cabin. It was a treat to wake up to the beautiful ocean and dunes. KOA continues to impress us with the clean facilities, safe environment, and plentiful activities for kids. We look forward to visiting again next summer!

Great campground. Site 806 on corner lot with lots of foot, bike and golf cart traffic. Bath houses very clean. Rough access to the beach but access to the sounds was great with a golf cart. Recommend dog poop bags and disposal on sound side along with more seating/ picnic tables. Overall great campground with lots of activities for kids and very clean pool area.

The campground has a fantastic location right next to the beach, with free beach access. My camper cabin was fine, with decent air conditioning, and even had a fridge, which was very nice and not something I was expecting based on the pre-arrival info. Great! I liked the big pool too. My one complaint is that at the mens restroom/showers near my cabin the soap dispensers didn't work: yuck.

We had a great time staying this past week. The campground was clean, staff was friendly, and we very much enjoyed every activity that we did! We have been to OBX many times over the past 20 years, but this is our first time staying at the KOA, and we will be back.

Our TV did not work was the only issue we had. It just kept flipping through the channels and we couldn’t get it to stop on any of them. Reported it to the front desk but no one ever came to look at it.

Our stay was good. We always enjoy the Rodanthe area. The camping cabin we were in #509 is need of some repair the door was hard to lock and would only open up halfway before dragging on the floor, the dragging prevented the door from opening fully making it hard to get our cooler inside. The door latch and deadbolt were loose and easily defeated if one tried. My wife felt unsafe.

Stayed in cabin 1201 on the beach! A/C unit was so noisy that even the wall vibrated. People beside us also so the same thing. Was very hard to sleep. I would not stay in the cabin again until A/C unit had been upgraded. But the camping and facility was great! Love the activities for kids and the live music

We enjoyed our stay every much. We found the rooms to be very nice and clean and accomodating for us to be able to stay close to friends with an RV since we do not have one. Tinas and the poolside bar were a great bonus! Only suggestion would be that the room does not get very dark at night because of the pool lights. Adding curtains or blackout blinds over the sliding glass doors would help!

I had a few issues withy cabin and had to ask a number of times for someone to help and only one issue was resolved. The staff did not seem too receptive nor were they super friendly in general. I loved the amenities but for the price of my stay and the lack of customer service I don't feel it was entirely worth it. This was my first time at a KOA place. I may not stay at any other moving forw

We enjoyed every minute! The campground was clean and well maintained. Employee's were pleasant and helpful. There were so many fun memory making moments thanks to the fun activity packed calendar. I really enjoyed the text message updates about activities, pool closing/opening due to weather and the many other convenient options for the text service. We are already planning our next trip!

we love coming there but was very disappointed with our cabin, The door was broke very hard to open and close, didn't close all the way so flies and bugs and sunlight in the morning came in thru crack.. Had to wait because air conditioner was broke they had to install a new one and wasn't put in the cabin that I booked, said I had to lock it in was not told that banisters on porch were rotten

We stayed in one of the corner suites and loved the campground and our lodging. The only complaint is that the floor of our room was so nasty that it made our feet black from walking on it and there was dried food in the sink. The room could have been cleaner—otherwise, we love the campground and all of the amenities and activities. Staff were super kind and it was reasonably priced.

Our check in was delayed about a half hour, our cleaner was so sweet though. We enjoy staying at KOA Hatteras and love the extra activities put on by the staff. We did have some big issues. Roaches in the cabin and ants in the clamping tent. Theac was not working properly in the glamping tent either. Overall still 5 stars, we plan on returning.

Stayed in a cabin closest to the water, beautiful ocean view! Room had everything we needed, even an electric grill outside to cook our fresh fish. A couple bugs inside but guess that's to be expected. Campground store/laundry/bathrooms convenient and café was wonderful! Crazy golf cart drivers and kids not looking driving electric scooters everywhere!

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
