I had a great time. My room was very nice and I loved having a view of The Sound! The Sunrise was beautiful.

The main bed in 1503 is terrible. Didn't sleep well for 3 nights but the bunks weren't much better. Had a non working grill and the lady i called about it was rude, but the maintenance man was very kind when he came over and replaced it. There were mishaps in the stay that werent KOAs fault, like the fire ban,but the stay was so nice overall. I'll come back, but be sure to not get the unit again.

Overall, this KOA is amazing and all staff is friendly. There were some weather related issues that impacted my stay such as no fires at any campsites and beach access was past campground to neighboring beach access area that would have led me to choosing an alternative accommodation had I known this ahead of time. Also, why can't we choose the coastal cabin on a map to show location at booking?

The cabins were cozy, perfect for what we needed and very well located to everything. The cafe was amazing, and all the staff were incredibly friendly. We already started planning our next trip up there before we even left!

Overall it was great. We really enjoyed the amenities like the pool and the hot tub and the bouncing pillow, as well as the acess to the beach. We had called to confirm that our camping cabin would have a mini fridge, and were suprised when we arrived that ours did not have one because it was a 6 person camping cabin. Also, that bathrooms really needed to be cleaned much, much more frequently.

shower ran out of hot water; 88 degrees in bathhouse. two access points to the beach were closed. the one access they had was rented out to someone, so it is rude to cut through people's camp sites. Went out of park to beach. No car parking at pool/hot tube only for golf carts. The bed in the cabin was uncomfortable you could feel the bed slates.

Our stay was really good. We enjoyed the campground. We usually are in our travel trailer, however, this trip was going to be more comfortable in a cabin where all the family could fit. The cabin was clean and convenient to everything. The only thing was the weather which is beyond everyone's control. It was windy all week which means we will have to plan a return trip for fishing.

First time staying at the cottage always stayed at the glamping tent .. I thought it be a little more cleaner there was dog nose markings on the door and window in the loft that was never cleaned. Also I wish for more younger kid friendly time on the bounce pad alot of older & larger kids were on there throwing rubber mulch and throwing a football hitting other guest to the point it became unsafe

Stayed in deluxe cabin with 2 Grand Daughters. They loved the playground, marshmallow pad, pool and mining. Can’t wait to come back soon

There is a loud consistent motor noise from a nearby property that should not be within code violations. There is a unit in the cabin set at 72° pushing out very cold air, was it a dehumidifier? The curtains were blowing inside the cabin and the door banging from the wind. We shivered all night with extra layers of clothes and blankets. The following night wasn't as cold and we got a heater

Stayed in a cabin without a bathroom. The campground bathroom could be cleaned more often. Communication could have been better about fire ban.

Room was great however lighting leaves room for improvement. No light over table..eat in the dark????? We had guests for dinner...not good. Lighting over sink is also lacking. No light above sink/work area. We loves the space in the room and being able to visit family without camper. We have camped at KOA many times in the past and I am sure we will use accomodations again.

Love KOA & this location in particular! What an affordable, incredibly-fun way to stay at OBX. Ideal location for amateur shore fishermen such as ourselves! Only downside was a bath-house that got progressively dirtier as our stay went on-cleaning seemed to be neglected for our entire 4-night stay (3/28 thru 4/1).

Great stay, we were there from March 28 to April 1. Staff were friendly, the camp was quiet and amenities were open already. We’ll definitely recommend this to a friend.

Me and my fiancé spent the weekend in a cabin and it was so amazing! Walking distance from the beach! Tons of stuff to do nearby! Super clean, and extremely easy check in process! They were even nice enough to provide flowers because I mentioned that we would be newly engaged!! Would 10/10 recommend!

I stated this KOA Campgrounds more than five times and always two days at a time and this time there was ants all over which I reported to the front desk at the opening area. The Internet has never worked great, but it did not work at all this time I think that’s you know for this time of modern era. No Internet is pretty poor.

Was very peaceful and great staff. But when trapped inside for the rain. It sucked since the mentioned wifi did not work at all in our cabin. I would go back if they fix the wifi. There was spots outside if you stood just right it worked but not inside.

First off, the people who work here are your greatest asset. I enjoyed every interaction I had with them. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathhouse. It was not serviced properly my entire stay. Additionally, the camping cabin I stayed in, 507, doesn’t have a door that seals which allowed cold air to rob my of the heat of the tiny space heater I borrowed. I recommend better heater

We stayed in one of the new 1 room coastal cottages and it was very nice and bed was very comfortable. The ceiling fan did not work and the key kept getting stuck as a previous renter bent the key. We let maintenance know immediately but it didn't have any effect on our stay. Pool was too cold (of course, it's March lol) but the hot tub felt amazing. Beach access is the best. Can't wait to return

This is our 2nd time staying and overall we were very happy. Only issue was the cabin was not very clean, my dog brought us another persons pair of socks covered in dog hair, you could tell the floor hadn’t been mopped and there was mold on the conditioner container in the shower. We didn’t stay long enough to make it a big deal but for the price we will stick with our camper next time.

Loved M-302 during the day and the staff were great! But at night there was too much light from the pool even with the shades closed, the pillows were not cozy and the tub was slippery. Looking forward to going back and trying a sound side suite.

The campground has a variety of arrangements including small cabins, dog areas, covered picnic areas on individual camp spot. It has a pool, hot tub volleyball sand area all that I didn't use. There is a small store where you check in. They also cook on site. They have activities during the day: bingo, train rides for kids, karaoke etc. The campground doesn't back up to the beach; its more like a narrow shoreline. The current access to this is a series of narrow multiple level steps. How would anyone be able to carry cooler, chair, towels etc down to just gaze at the water seems unsafe. I didn't see anyone do that. Instead I had to travel to visited another beach. People friendly. Bathrooms were alright. They also have washer/dryers (didn't use). The parking areas are mostly gravel. It has rain before I got there and some places had pools of water. It was nice to hear the ocean sounds at night when it got dark and quite. There was a nice breeze during my entire trip.

All in all a great campground for a beach vacation. No boardwalks, high rise hotels, tourist areas, malls or tee shirt shops every 1/2 mile, just beach, ocean inlets, a few restaurants and surf shops. . Some things to keep in mind when planning your camping trip. Do not get an RV site on the main roads. Foot traffic, kids on bikes and other toys, dog walkers and folks going back and forth to the beach. You won't have any privacy or peace and quiet. The paw pens are not secure and won't contain a big aggressive dog. There is definitely a roach problem. I witnessed an infestation around the outside sink on the bath house near our RV site and was in the office when 2 people were complaining to the staff about the problem in their deluxe cabins. Did not affect us in our RV. Also, some office staff can be very condescending and rude (witness that also). Ask to speak to management if you have a problem. There are some staff trailers on the perimeter and a small area of long term residents that could use some sprucing up. The front section could definitely use some covered trash cans as the birds can get very aggressive before trash is picked up! Easy access to ocean and inlet for spectacular sunsets and sunrises, great dog parks and lots of kids activities during the season. Knowing what I know now, will return.
