Well, it's our 5th time here, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly staff. However, even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future!

Our spot was a little tight. We should be given the same respect as the people with pets. You could easily have kept pet owners trailers away. Maybe a section for none pet owners.when I make reservations it ask if we have pets that must be for a reason. One had three dogs we like dogs but have to listen to them bark every time I make a noise

Everybody was friendly and helpful. Park was clean and our suite was well equipped. Being by the ocean was wonderful. It's in a very good location.

We had a wonderful vacation. It is a great location to explore all of OBX. The beach is beautiful, the staff very helpful and the campground well maintained.

Staff super nice. Sites too close together and picnic pavilion too close to road and far from camper door. If we moved the picnic table closer to door for better access from our camper, then neighbor’s sewer would be inches from our table ( eating space).

We love this place and have been coming here for several years. The ease of access to the beach and local activities is great too. The thing we love the most is we can come here to relax and recharge our batteries.

Just beautiful! A quick walk to the amazing beach on the eastern shore and a second park on the western shore to view the spectacular sunsets and kite surfers. Bath house was a bit tired, but it appears upgrades are being done. We would definitely stay again, but for longer.

We had a wonderful visit. The campground is clean the staff are friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed our three days visiting the area and enjoying the beach. Really hated to leave. Thank you

April isnot the best time to be there, kind of cold and to windy. Also, we had lot's of rain and as our lot was on the grass we ended stock in the mud. Got upgraded at no cost. Thank you. Regards Bert, this KOA would be nice in the summer.

This was our first stay at KOA Hatteras and it definitely won’t be our last!! It was early in the season but we imagined just how much better it will be in warmer weather. Visitors: DO NOT fail to get a breakfast biscuit at the poolside cafe!

Overall our stay was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful and as usual, kept us informed of events happening throughout the day. My only negative comment has to with the sewage connection at our site (Site #215); it was elevated so our trailer connection was level with the sewer. I used the dump station by the entrance before we left would have preferred to dump at our site.

Great park in an amazing setting. The facilities are well maintained which is huge for me. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Love this KOA and the wonderful team there! Facilities are clean and well-stocked. Level sites. Incredible location. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that sites are too close to one another. Sewer connection for neighbors is close to patio/picnic eating areas for next site. Yucky/unappetizing. Might be nice to have the permanent RVs tidied up a bit. Thanks again!

The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful when we needed to contact a taxi company and purchase a cell phone charger after spending several days camping and hiking on the MST. The campgrounds and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. There were hedges in between the tent sites offering some privacy. I wish there had been a fire ring at the tent site.

Very nice park! Sites are really nice with chairs and tables and concrete pad. Grounds are nice and well kept. Bath house facilities very nice and we appreciated the pet wash to clean off the sand! Nice short walk over the dunes to the ocean. Located in a great central spot to go see everything in the area.

The staff was really helpful. Plenty of amenities. The handrails on the rustic cabins were in need of repair but other than that the grounds were well maintained.

The staff was friendly and accomodating. Our kids always love the aminities that KOA has to offer. I was VERY satisfied with the vacation rental we booked. I will 100% be spending future spring breaks at the Cape Hatteras KOA!

Beautiful surroundings. Love the ocean behind us and the bay in front of us. But for the price we paid I was disappointed the wifi and cable was spotty at best.

Do not reserve a dunes site if you have a class A. They are inches from your neighbors with the fire ring in their back yard. We moved to a KOA patio and LOVED it ! 3x the square footage. The front desk is very friendly and the easy beach access was great for our dog, no problem off leash in April. Try Waterman’s Bar and Grill (best ribs in OBX) and Lisa’s Pizza. Both walking distance. Enjoy !

The grounds are not maintained as they should be. The sites were once paved but the asphalt is old and crumbling. The fire rings are old and need updating. Access to the beach is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Our spot was perfect - just a few rows back from the ocean so we could hear the waves when we sat outside. My daughter loved being free to walk around on the campground on her own and made a new friend at the bouncing pillow. We both enjoyed all The extra events were such day at the campground and took advantage of most of them. All the staff was friendly and very helpful

Sites we’re ok but tight. It was difficult to back into our site because of tow vehicles parked in the way.. Otherwise it was fine.

We paid extra to stay here because it had a hot tub. Hot tub never got fixed. Otherwise all was good.

The place is the most affordable to stay around Cape Hatteras. Do not get confused, a non expensive place but with the facilities and customer service of an expensive one. People that work there are very nice and receptive for any inquiry you may have. The extra activities like the bingo and cart riders for the kids are phenomenal. Great place to be with your family and kids.

You don't clean the bathrooms. The bathrooms were constantly full of mud and hair, toilets clogged. I never saw one staff cleaning. Also sand would be much more preferred over the level of mud. Some staff were quite rude.

We have been here many times, both in and off season, and of course the location is top notch and very friendly KOA staff as always. Amenities and activities can be excellent for families. Really like the new text alerts for activities and important updates on the very large, beautiful grounds. However, unfortunately our most recent visit (April 2024) had a few issues. Even though we understand its the off season and it's a relatively remote location, the facilities could really use some updates and upgrades. Hot tub broken, no WIFI and only two cable channels, no lights at volleyball, beach showers by dunes broken and rusted handles. Hope for improvements in the future, as we would still like to return!

First off I would recommend this KOA to all, I see some of the bad reviews and totally disagree. The spots are very level, the staff is caring and amazing, the bath houses are super clean, the beach area is awesome, the sunsets ( waking distance) across the street are to die for and the wifi actually does work but don't expect high speed, use your own hotspot. This KOA is very centrally located and within driving distance to all of the outer banks attractions. Thank you KOA staff for making our visit amazing and our pups also thank you for the very nice large dog parks, woof.
