This place has nasty potholes in all the roads in the camp. Very close to the neighbor. Not the nicest KOA. Gettysburg is the nicest by far.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Unfortunately for you we have received some much needed rain. We were in drought conditions. And yes rain makes potholes.I wish the pothole fairy would come every night to fill them in but that doesnt happen. On the site being tight you get what you paid for smallest site is the cheapest site.

We love this KOA for it's quiet & peasefull location. Yet close by to most everything you need. Lots of scenery in the area & Downeast. Stay here, you won't be disappointed.

The campground was great! The owners were so nice and went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed and made you feel like family. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends as well!

What an absolutely wonderful campground!! Extremely clean and well kept and the owners were delightful!! If we are ever lucky enough to get to Maine again, this will definitely be on the top of our list for places to stay. I highly recommend it!

Nice patio site. The tree limbs need to be trimmed at the exit to accommodate Large Class A RV’s.

We are glad you enjoyed your site. I am guessing the trees you are referring to are on the main rd as we have no trees at our exit gate. Trees on State rds would be a complaint to state of Maine. Too bad we as hard working owners have to suffer at the hands of what we cant control. Happy Camping!!

Our stay was made perfect, by the staff at Bucksport/Fort Knox KOA. They were so helpful and friendly, that we noticed everyone camping there was smiling and friendly. The campground was immaculate, bathrooms were very clean as well as the public areas were clean. The on site snack shack had the best food! We had the steak and cheese and the pizza, both were fantastic.

Place was awesome. Entire family’s host was so helpful with directions and site selection. Grand children had a ball with the whole setup. Great place to camp when headed down eastern Maine.

Good staff, nice sites. They do need a nice KOA sign pointing to the turn in off the main highway. Very easy to miss and a difficult turnaround in a big rig.

We are glad you enjoyed the campground. We do have signs on the roads but the State of Maine is very strict on the size. We wish we could have the big billboards. Happy camping.

Beautiful campsite. You can tell the owners really enjoy having this camp. Kept so clean. Felt very safe. Super friendly people. Everything you need is right there . Dog par, kid park, pool, laundry Close to Bar Harbor and other attractions. Definitely will return. I felt very welcome.

Great staff! We arrived in pouring rain and they were very patient with us as we had to maneuver our big rig and tow vehicle to our spot. The Snack Shack delivered pizza to our site which was nice after a long day at Acadia. Will stay there again next time we are in the area.

Staff was very professional and pleasant. The bath house is clean, but could use a serious make over (floor is very soft in front of urinal. The laundry room was clean. The grounds are well kept. Our site had patio and stoned fire ring area was in excellent condition.

Our first time at this KOA. Great site, quiet campground (great for us, not so much for the kiddo LOL) and easy to get to many local attractions and some great hikes. Quiet road allowed for long morning walk with the dog. Kept missing ice cream - would have been nice to have that open to 8pm. Bath house could be bit more spacious and modern. We're looking forward to visiting again next year.

Outstanding Fall experience! David and Marlene were fantastic. So friendly and fun and went out of their way to make it special for us! We had a great site and it was right at the tail end of their season! The leaves are beautiful and it's just a fun place to be!

Campgrounds were great. Clean well kept. Actually gave us a welcoming gift when we checked in which is unheard of. Gentleman that parked us extremely helpful. They should have a 10but only given 1-5 to choose from.

One of the best KOA's I have been to. Beautiful campground, friendly hosts, incredibly well maintained. We stayed in the glamping tent and it was an awesome experience. Very nice, comfortable, and fun; the experience of tent camping with none of the challenges. Comfortable beds, private bathroom, refrigerator, propane grill, etc. The campground is in a great location relative to bar harbor and Acadia National park as well as other things to do in the area. I would highly recommend this KOA for anyone wanting to go camping in Maine. Thanks David and Marlene!!
