My wife our Grandchildren my sister from Florida, her Grandchildren had a wonderful 5 nights stay. We did day trips to Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. We saw so much and ate very well at so many places including in the park. We do have one comment. The entrance is narrow, only one vehicle can pass, vehicles checking in block the way when returning, delayed our return 20 minutes.

Even before our stay began the Bucksport / Fort Knox KOA had raised the bar for customer service by contacting us personally to ensure that our trip was off to a good start. During our stay the campground was clean, the playground was fun for our children and activities popped up that had them running for more. We felt welcomed and taken care of.

Stayed 6 night great site #1. Plenty of shades and amenities. Enjoyed the snack shack pizza and ice cream. Also restrooms were clean at all times. The owners were great made you feel just like you were home. Even walked are dog while we were away for the day. Would go back to this KOA if evere in the area. Location was not the closest to Acadia but could not be beat in hospitality.

I loved staying at this KOA!! It was clean, well-kept, comfortable, homey, convenient, and had great amenities. I enjoyed the pool on the sunny afternoon and the Rec Room had extra amenities and was a great place to use in the rain! Also, the communication I had in advance with this KOA was excellent, helpful, friendly, and much appreciated! I would definitely stay here again! :)

Nice quiet clean campground. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Bathrooms and showers are not handicapped equeiped. They are not ADA compliant.

We were welcomed, and even though had to move our site during stay it was not a big deal. There were alot of seasonals which surprised us. The front gate was very slow as staff would chat with returning cars blocking the gate. that was very odd.

The camp sites were way too close together (people next to us had four very noisy kids), the man's bathroom was mostly uncleaned and the showers looked like a five year old put them together

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

If you would have come to us we could have spoken with the neighbors about their children. Im not sure what was the issue with our bathhouse as in many previous reviews we are very particular about our bathroom cleanliness. You also had a 35' site that is plenty to accommodate your 12' van.

Very friendly staff! We booked one night but needed another and they were very flexible in making sure we could stay the second night. Everything was very clean and well maintained.

Appreciated the nice friendly customer service. Nice camp sites and well kept grounds. Would mention that the bathhouse could be a little bigger, small showers. Also on hot days, no exhaust fan to take the heat out. Thanks.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The bathrooms are mostly for the tenters and cabins with no bathroom as most rv's have their own bathroom. There is an exhaust fan in each bathroom that turns on when the lights are turned on. We wish the bathrooms were bigger as well but until a rebuild we keep them extra clean for our guests

Very well maintained KOA. Family run. The owners are great people and very involved. Everyone we met there was so nice! We needed a 9V battery for an issue with the camper and an employee went and got one out of his own device and just asked if he could have it back when we were done. Our neighbors gave us a container of cherry tomatoes because they had a plant and more than they needed.

Everyone including staff, owners and campers were extremely friendly. Would definitely stay there again. Lots are clean, big and level! Pool and bathrooms were clean. Great stay!

Our favorite campground to stay where everyone is treated like close family. It is near all the good things to and do in Maine!

Wonderful staff -- went above and beyond to help us (holding a package that didn't arrive during our 3-night stay, 'til we could swing back through Bucksport). Convenient location, with easy drive to quaint towns like Belfast, Bucksport, Castine, and of course Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Well tended, nice pool, delicious ice cream on sale at the snack shack.

Very helpful and pleasant people that own and run campground. Only unpleasant time was Sunday morning/ early afternoon, strong sewage odor when wind was slightly blowing. Don’t know if it was due to the number of campers leaving that morning. Other than that we had a great first time experience and will definitely be back.

We were late arrivals on Friday and the site was amazing! Thank you for your kindness throughout the weekend. Very clean and amazing cement patios, furniture, and table at each site. The fellow campers were very kind to help us navigate the camper into the site (Jim - Thank you again!). We hope everyone has an enjoyable time to the end of their summer.

Worst KOA thatI have ever stayed at!!!! Actually kicked out of the resort just because I mentioned that I was thinking of contacting a lawyer because of the damage that an unmarked stump caused to the automatic step on my RV. Roads in the the Park are terrible!!! Very difficult to get in and out of the park!!

You were kicked out because of threatening us. I didnt drive your rig off the road into the ditch and over a stump. You did. We take 45 ft campers hauling 35ft boxes with no issues. I guess you might need to learn how to drive. And kindness as i told you goes alot further than being nasty.

Outstanding Fall experience! David and Marlene were fantastic. So friendly and fun and went out of their way to make it special for us! We had a great site and it was right at the tail end of their season! The leaves are beautiful and it's just a fun place to be!

Campgrounds were great. Clean well kept. Actually gave us a welcoming gift when we checked in which is unheard of. Gentleman that parked us extremely helpful. They should have a 10but only given 1-5 to choose from.

One of the best KOA's I have been to. Beautiful campground, friendly hosts, incredibly well maintained. We stayed in the glamping tent and it was an awesome experience. Very nice, comfortable, and fun; the experience of tent camping with none of the challenges. Comfortable beds, private bathroom, refrigerator, propane grill, etc. The campground is in a great location relative to bar harbor and Acadia National park as well as other things to do in the area. I would highly recommend this KOA for anyone wanting to go camping in Maine. Thanks David and Marlene!!
