This was our first stay at the barrie KOA and honestly we (group of 8) couldn't of asked for anything more in terms of comfort, cleanliness and staff attentiveness .I would definitely recommend this campground to everyone who is looking for a great place to escape from the city , we've already booked for next year.

I was very disappointed. Not only did I feel unimportant and ignored, I felt humiliated by the response I received when I asked for help. We’ve been going for 7 years but something in the vine hAs changed. We’re done.

Such an amazing campground, from cleanliness, planned activities, friendliness and efficiency of staff! Unfortunately, the gators are so annoying. Back and forth all day and evening, all I heard was the rumbling of gators. Wood and pizza, etc, can be delivered in a quiet golf cart. Signed, Looking for the sound of birds chirping! Denise

We had an awesome stay Had 2 trailer sites and a cabin Grandchildren had a great time Lots of activities I would plant some more shade trees and bushes for privacy between sites.

Our stay was very good. Nice clean campsite and facilities. Very helpful & knowledgeable staff. The only issue is the very dusty roadways. A lot is due to the constant back & forth travel of the staff in golf carts. Especially before garbage pick up, they are constantly going back and forth.

We have been coming here for years and have found it to be going down hill. The pools were very dirty as well as the showers in the bathrooms. The activities for the kids during the week is less and less and is filled with things like cotton candy thats not an activitie and it needs to be paid for. The jumpy pad is no longer and was replaced with a boring blow up maze. The staff were great though.

Great stay. Very clean. Friendly staff. My kids were disappointed that there was no wet wagon rides during our stay this year. Other than that they loved it.

We enjoyed our stay in cabin 218. Staff were very friendly. We did run out of hot water. The microwave needs to be replaced. All in all we would stay again great for young families.

Like other KOA's, it was very clean and the staff are very courteous. The only things that I have to complain about is the site was very sandy which makes a mess in the trailer and the speed limit is 8km/h but there is no staff that obey that speed limit. They always seem to be in a hurry and drive way above the 8km/h while most of the guests obey the limit. There's children all over all the time.

Amazing campground. Very clean and well maintained from the washrooms to the grounds and pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This campground has a pizza, hotdogs, ice cream, etc. They even deliver the food to your site. Highly, highly recommend the place. We stayed in a cabin and was very comfortable.

We had a great time with the family. We had a cabin and a tent site. There were lots of fun activities to do with the kids as well as the pool, playground, mining shack and wagon rides. We were there during Karnival week and the kids absolutely loved it. We will be back for sure.

We stayed at campsite 84. The park was in great condition and serviced well. We had a great time. Note: Site 84 has a tree at the back corner that leans out over our trailer and the branches slap the side at times. This tree should be trimmed back or eliminated. The outward lean is concerning as the two trees share a common root. Just a safety comment. It is a beautiful park. Thx.

The store and washrooms were clean. I was very disappointed. The website said "grass pad" however our site and most others we just dirt. All our gear, us & kids were caked in dirt. I paid for Monday-Friday and ended up leaving on Wednesday, loosing money for the last 2 nights. I will not book here again. Nothing for teens to do. Carnival week was as promoted was deceiving.

The staff is kind, helpful and always smiling! The pools and the grounds are kept very clean and so was our cabin. The activities throughout the day for the kids are wonderful!! Thank you:)

Couldn’t have been better. Casey was extremely helpful and all staff members were friendly, and knowledgable. I think the adults only area is a great idea. Nobody bothers anybody. I’m already booked for next year

It was our first time staying at Barrie KOA and it won't be our last! When booking didn't realize that I booked in the adult only section. We were so glad of this as it was to be a relaxing/downtime for us. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We didn't try the restaurant but thought it was a great to have if we didn't want to cook. The staff we interacted with was courteous.

We live 20 minutes away from Barrie KOA, but once you are there you feel like you are far away!

I felt the service was mediocre. I waited a long time to check in as several workers were chatting. It took forever to get ice delivered to the site; we finally had to leave and they left it on the picnic table. There was trash on the site when we arrived and person picking up trash wouldn’t attempt to pick up any trash except the bag itself so there was pieces of garbage around.

Stay was great, lots of fun activities for the kids. Camp grounds were well kept. Didn't love that the adult swim was right in the middle of the day. It would be nice if it was as soon as the pool opens or when it closes from 7pm to 8pm. There were also multiple dirty bandaids in both pools both days we were there.

Only thing we had a problem with was we checked in at 9:30pm at night and no package was left for us. I called, emailed and got a response after texting what our site number is. Another camper let us in the gate. We had our breakfast order forgotten but other then that we always have a great time. Our kids love swimming and all the activities for kids. We will be back again many times

We absolutely love KOA, and it's usually our go-to choice whenever we go camping! My wife and I have both been coming to the Barrie KOA for as long as we can remember, and now getting to bring our own kids here and create those same memories is something really special to us. We came for the final Halloween and closing weekend of the season, and overall, we had an amazing time with friends and family. The kids had an absolute blast, and we made some great memories! That being said, we did feel there was one thing worth mentioning: the staff. As someone who works in hospitality myself, I completely understand that by the end of the season, everyone is exhausted, ready for a break, and looking forward to some well-deserved time off. We know how demanding the industry can be, and we appreciate the hard work that goes into making these experiences possible. However, customer service is still a big part of what makes a place special. Typically, the staff at KOA are bubbly, energetic, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, this weekend, every staff member we encountered seemed unhappy to be there. Even asking a simple question or requesting something made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. We understand that everyone has off days, but when that experience seems consistent across the board, it's hard not to notice. Did it ruin our weekend? Absolutely not! We still had a fantastic time, and the kids loved every minute of it. However, it definitely took away from that traditional KOA vibe we've come to know and love over the years. We'll absolutely continue to love KOA, and the Barrie location holds a special place in our hearts because of the memories we've made there over the years. We're sharing this feedback because we genuinely love the experience KOA usually provides, and we hope it's taken constructively. We look forward to coming back and continuing to create those special family memories for years to come!

Updated on Oct 13, 2026. - While we love returning here, it has become quite pricey compared to other high-quality, family-owned campgrounds. That said, we have to give a huge shout-out to the haunted house actors and organizers; the organization was flawless, and they did a fantastic job! Updated on Jul 13, 2026. - We've been staying at Barrie KOA since 2024, and it remains one of our favourite campgrounds. The location is incredibly convenient, and the variety of activities keeps our kids happily entertained throughout the weekend. The common areas and amenities are consistently well maintained, and the convenience store reliably saves us from the things we inevitably forget to pack. I do have one observation regarding the RV back‑in sites from 23 to 62. As always, all services — electricity, water, and sewer — worked perfectly, which has been our experience every single time at this KOA. However, these upper sites could benefit from some attention. The grass has worn away over time, leaving a mix of dirt and sparse low grass‑weed. It doesn't affect functionality, but given how spacious and genuinely impressive these sites are, I can't help but feel they have great potential with a bit of surface improvement. Overall, we love staying here and look forward to many more visits. A little refresh in that upper section would make an already great campground even better.
